We all have relatives that are rotten people. I kept my distance from them all. I’m 77 now and most of them are dead now. I wrestled with confronting my dad for five years before he passed. I chose not to. I accepted him for the incomplete person he was. I stopped living under the family sorrows. I made my own. You have a beautiful child and a wonderful husband and you seem pretty amazing yourself. Focusing on that is definitely the path to a great life. Not being fully accepted by members of your family is their loss not yours. Feel sorry for the incompleteness in their hearts that is their loss.
