Thank you. I managed to fit it without taking off the wheel, but your instructions were great.
How easy would it be to do this without taking the wheel off? Just some context - I have an A line bike and no mudguards
Love it!! Here is a list of all the tools you'll need to complete this procedure, then, the first tool used isn't one listed:) Always keep em guessing...
Can you make a video showing how to fit to an electric Brompton, I want to see how the rear light is re fitted.
yes, I have the exact same question!
hello brompton...are you there?
Make sure you're subscribed to our UA-cam channel and we will have something on this for you very early next year
Yes, please @BromptonBicycle I installed the rear rack myself today and I was sad about not having the solution to fit the electric rear light again. The light finish to be detached hanging. There should be also information before the purchase of the rack, to know that the hub gears and the breaks may need re adjustment because it is necessary to take the rear weel away. Very disapointed about not being able to have an electric light installed appropiately.
@@bromptonbicycle Why having to wait a year to have instructions to keep the electric light? It wasn't very clear the problem with the light on the advice about the product of the rack. It should be communicated costumers before. I installed the rack following the instructions today, because I need tomorrow very early at night, take the road with some bags and I really need a light to go to the road in security, to be seen.
Finally, an official tutorial converting an L Brompton into an R.
Good afternoon, I have a question, are the Advance Roller Wheels compatible with this rack? Thanks so much!
FINALLY! An official video tutorial!!! 👍
Hope you like it!
Yes, but not as much fun as the Brilliant Bikes videos, especially the outtakes at the end.😂
3:00 I need to know the reason for this lack of symmetry otherwise I'll go crazy... please please please, why not both screw heads on the inside?
I believe it is to prevent the screw from hitting the chain on the drive side.
I today installed the rear rack. The installation went well. However, the very end of the mudguard touches the tire. No matter how I adjust the mudguard, it touches the tire. The rack has only two stays per side. They do not pull the mudguard far enough from the tire. The original rear mudguard that came with the bike had three stays and they pulled the mudguard far enough from the tire.
In my case at least, I had to sort of snap the front of the mudguard over the lower chain stay bridge, otherwise the tire rubbed. None of the videos I watched showed this. I also had a hard time with the rack stays, if I tightened the brake bolt first I couldn’t line up the rack stays with the holes. I had to loosely connect everything and then tighten everything at the same time. It all worked out, but didn’t go quite as smoothly as the videos I’ve seen. Hope it all worked out for you, cheers!
Thanks for the comment. I showed the rear fender to the local Brompton mechanic and he said that seems to be a done by design to sit too close to the tire, unfortunately.
mine seems to be missing one of the nyloc nuts, and came with a regular nut instead. how to get another nyloc?
This was the case with mine as well, only two nyloc nuts, and one regular nut. I’m going to use the regular one on the rear mudguard mounting point.
thanks for sharing!
How do you smoothly roll a Brompton M6L with a rear rack?
Does this just not work for the electric? It seems like the mud guard simply doesn’t fit. Insanely frustrating
This was NOT easy fml, you should just offer to buy the bike with or without the rack smh
