Neuse River Trail (28 Miles)

- This beautifully well constructed and maintained paved trail meanders along the Neuse River for 28 miles. From North to South it runs from Falls Lake Dam to the Wake/Johnston County line, adjacent to Raleigh, NC. Note, the trail is currently closed between Milburnie and Anderson Point Parks due to a sewer construction project but there is a designated detour around the closure.

I call that long white fence "The Fence Of Death" lol. That's all you see for a very long time. I do love this trail, i ride it often!

I shared your New River Trail vid with my wife recently since we're camping and riding from Fries in a few weeks and the UA-cam recommendation engine put this vid in my feed today. I ride the Neuse River trail just about every day and I agree - it's a great trail! My youngest paints art on some (5 so far!) of the sewer-ups along the trail. You can see their work at :52 and 2:02. Raleigh has a Public Arts program to get permission (and make sure that the sewer-up you paint isn't going to be replaced soon). Thanks for visiting!
Incidentally, they took down the construction stuff at the Falls Dam Tailrace within the last day! But the parking at the canoe put-in has more spots, anyway.
