    Hey Norman, very cool that your son likes to hang out with his dad and learn how to wrench. The scenery out by you is a lot like here in Michigan just outside of metro Detroit, except we don't have to drive as far to a machine shop. We still have lots of tool and die guys around from "The Big Three" automakers. Cool project, and thanks for posting.

    Cherish these times man. They'll be here and gone before you know it. Shop time with dad is SO important to lil guy growing up. It's where they learn what kind of man to be.

    @Norm If you do not have the means to direct hit the bearing then dipping in water to get it off and must use a cutting disk. Lay a 1/16th sheet of metal on the rod and cut into the face of the bearing using the 1/16th as a guide to keep it off the rod. It will leave a little bit of metal from the bearing. But not damage the rod and you will be able to knock it off with a hammer then.. usually the thin leftover metal will break free at the first hit.

    • @motorsportmach
      @motorsportmach 5 років тому +3

      Richard Elbe I cut until about a 1/16th of an inch from cutting through the bearing and then take a chisel in the slot and one whack split the race and it will slide right off.

    • @2naturesownplace
      @2naturesownplace 5 років тому +1

      @@motorsportmach that works as well.. I have to correct I miss spell in my statement.. Hit = heat.. lil direct heat.. ice cold water.. the bearings usually fall of the shaft..

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  5 років тому +2

      Its allis orange. I'm not a purist when it comes to paint so I get the "close enough" color. I'm also going to use a bright white instead of the creamy white that simplicity used I like the contrast

    Looking good! I highly recommend getting a Danco bush hog for the PMax. Just added one to mine and it is my favorite attachment. Are you putting that loader on from the Wheel Horse? Curious how it fits because I have been hunting for a loader for years.

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  5 років тому

      Hey Jesse, Thanks for the comment. I actually think I am going to make that wheel horse I have into a Tracked Crawler, and keep the loader on it. I recently acquired my favorite tractor of all time the Ford LGT 195 and plan on restoring that next and fabricating a loader from scratch like I did for the Cub Cadet 149.

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  5 років тому

      isavetractors oh! Now you are talking!!! I’ve been looking at John Deere 420c’s (the crawler with the loader or dozer) and I’m in love! I have been dreaming of a tracked garden tractor forever. I’ve even considered the track drives from the snow blowers but they aren’t up to the task. The Magnatrack was a mini dozer that was sold years ago but don’t think it was ever really produced at volume. Compact tractors outside the US (Iseki and others)have started adding skid tracks. Someone should make a set of tracks 😉😉 for half and full tracked applications. We could use zero turn motors to drive and turn them.
