Thank you, King Cobra. Now I know how to do the rails correctly I can get on with my recover project. I had a so-called professional guy recover my table, a no-name but solid and well-built item, and the results were unusable for serious play. He failed to refill the bolt holes that were an unusual feature of my slate, so that there were several 'dips' along every rail that a ball could settle into. He also completely screwed up one side rail recover so badly there was a folded staple sticking up at a side pocket. I had to buy more cloth to fix it myself. He promised to return and re-do the job right, but instead he dropped out of sight, and I never called him, either, because I didn't trust his work anymore.
Going to install ANDY Premier cloth on a 7ft Diamond shortly, when I do that, I'll be recording from start to finish, but breaking everything down into shorter videos, but still step by step.
Great video as always Glen. What are you using to support the rail frame off the slate? Also where do you get your scissors from mine are never that sharp out of the box. 😅
@@therealkingcobra I hope he calls some tables are in rough shape. Loving you videos by the way. Hopefully I will see you sooner than later at Brothers.
Cloths are different from manufacturer to manufacturer, so to answer your question, you need to clamp down the cloth on one side of the slate, then stretch the cloth across the slate to the other side, mark it at the maximum stretch, let it relax, then measure how far you could stretch the cloth. Once you can answer that question, then back off 3/4" inch, then you know what the stretch index is for that cloth, for that size table.
First answer, replace the featherstrip, 2) run duct tape the length of the featherstrip on 3 sides to widen it, 3) last choice, lightly coat it with spray glue.
O Nine Ball aqui no Brasil é fraco, mas eu estou me preparando para a liga profissional. Vou fazer minha própria mesa pq aqui no Brasil não tem mesa de Nine Ball

All of these videos require a double thumbs up button. Beautiful work and a pleasure to watch. 👏👏👍
Excellent,
I never quite angled the cloth in that pyramid shape as much as you did.
I'll do that next time.
Cheers 😁
I've seen your restorations on AZB and they are outstanding. I hope to have a beautiful table like the ones you fix up someday.
@@scottlame6724 Thankyou so much! - I'm still learning this craft. 😁

@@therealkingcobraim installind Andy premier next weekend. Any chance you will have that video up soon?
The King Cobra is indeed the king.
Thank you for the video! Do you know of any good table mechanics in the Los Angeles area?
Contact Donny at West State Billiards.

I have the rails sitting on 2 2x4's recovered in old Simonis bed cloth. Ginger 6" scissors from like a Joann Fabric store.
Hi Glen,
Can you do a video on how you level the slate frame and the slate using a Starrett level😁
Everything about leveling slates and tables is coming. Including how to turn a 3 piece slate into a 1 piece.
Was this Simonis cloth? If it wasn't, is the procedure different for the rails?
Same process requardless of the cloth used.
If i don't have staple can i use glue for this?
No
You coming to Brothers soon to recover?
When Todd cals me, sure.

@RKC, does the pyramid technique work on traditional home tables?
Yes
Hi Cobra. what would the stretch index be on a 7 ft non worsted cloth be?

Are the staples ordinary arrow staples?
1/4" × 1/2" crown
What staple gun inside Staples are you using please
1/2" crown, 1/4" leg. Pneumatic staplers are the best, far better than any electric staplers.
what have you found to be the easiest way to remove staples from rails
i help a friend of mine do these in south east region
I use an awl and a pair of side cutters.
what do you do if the feather strip is a little loose?
First answer, replace the featherstrip, 2) run duct tape the length of the featherstrip on 3 sides to widen it, 3) last choice, lightly coat it with spray glue.
