Thanks for your awesome informative videos. Really enjoyable for me as a first time flash user to watch! Learning a lot. Quick question; Any chance the profoto click softbox will hold a godox v1 pro speedlight?
Great video. John, is it ok for you to loose catchlight on the second eye when feathering and/or moving main flash more left from camera axis, or do you try to keep catchlight always on both eyes and controlling the point where you start loosing the 2nd eye ?
I think the majority would say you need the light in both… and it does add life for sure. But if I’m 100% honest I personally don’t pay attention to it. If it happens it happens attitude. But I would say it’s better to have it than not
After some years with Profoto gear I am not chocked that it works real fine. The grid to my bigger softbox 3x2 works equally well. Just watch out if you have a nice knitted sweater or nylon stockings where you put the grid hahaha
Thanks for the review. I’m also using the M11 and I’m trying to decide if the A1/A10 or the A2 is better for outdoor portraits. If you were only taking a single light out with the soft box etc, would you take the A1/A10 or the A2?
A10 - not for over powering the Sun 🤮 but for great fill. And the extra power is always there when you need it. Being able to power it down will also provide many more flashes on a charge.
Hi, Thanks for a great review .Can you let the viewers know the power setting on the lights and the aperture you using .With and without grid .I try to decide if the A2 is right for my use . Thank You
Well I really don’t pay attention to those details to be honest. It has around the same power as the A1s (a little less) and if you’re using inside it’s plenty. Outside it’s great if you aren’t the one who thinks overpowering the sun is where it’s at…. Add all the other variables into a shoot and my settings will not mean much in your real world shooting.
Yeah the problem is that Angler hasn't made an adapter that fits the A2...yet... I bought one from BH with plan to use for my A2's but yup, A2 is slightly larger diameter so will not fit...yeah I was pissed. So ended up returning it...very disappointed as I think its a really nice product and would be great for outdoors and came with adapter and grid for $160...where profoto taxes you $299 + $129 for a freakin grid...come on. $428 is just bonkers.

It would be nice if the Angler grid would fit on the Profoto Clic softbox. One could save a few coins that way. 🙃🙃
So true! I do love that slip on idea though.

what kind of profoto connect do you use with your leica?
I use the Nikon Connect. It’s always worked well. (Manual)
Those prices lol
Cheaper version from China on its way
