Ahhh! I miss my riding days. I have an 05 220 that I bought brand new and then put every upgrade known to man on it (except the bigger tank) I rode it a year or two and then my wife had our first child, so now it just sits. Less than 100 hours on it and showroom condition. Waiting for my son to get a little bigger. Thanks for posting this, I put my helmet and gloves on while watching it. (j/k)...(ok I did).
These are excellent little bikes so much fun and with just a pipe and a silencer and opening up the air box they are serious rippers. I wish I still had mine the only bike I ever sold that I really miss and I’ve had a lot of bikes. Such good memories I’m going to pick up another one someday and do it up right so it’s better than brand new.
I've only had a few bikes, but my first was a 2001 KDX 220R. rode the hell out of that bike for years until gas hit $4.00 a gallon in 2008 and I lost my job. Last year, I bought two bikes. A KTM 300 XC W 6 Days like I always wanted (unbelievable bike, BTW!) and a 2001 KDX 200 that had been rode hard and put away wet. The KDX only took a little bit of elbow grease to get running right again, but since then I've been laying the cash down on it making in pretty and better than new. Even though I have what is arguably the best off road bike out there in the KTM, I still love my little Kawi!
Good stuff again, you did really well . Wish I could have made it out to this. You ride a lot out in treverton in your videos. I live about 15 minutes away from coal hill
Hunter14 thanks! I've actually only been to Trevorton once hah. Been to centralia a few times still need to post a video on that. We're closer to harrisburg.
For some reason this was dizzying to watch lol. Maybe the view. I wish this one wasn’t so far away. Even three springs is a hike. We have no provisions for camping plus have two dogs. So all races are day trips leaving at the wee hours of the morning. Nice riding.
Hi. I'm considering buying a KDX and this particular one, the owner told me has "typical KDX clutch drag". It has a recently added wiseco clutch basket and KG clutch. Any ideas on how to solve the "drag" issue and will it possibly decrease after it wears in some? Thanks in advance for any advice. Thumb up, subbed and shared.
I just picked up one, completely redone. It has clutch drag too and its a quirk that really irritates me on bikes. It will stall, cold motor by just clicking it into gear. However once the oil warms up its gone.
@@tieoneon1614 Exactly like on my KTM 520 sx 2002. It is very annoying. When the engine is cold, I usually rev the engine when I shift down to 1st, which solves the problem.
A woman is but a woman, but a KDX is a fine bike! "The woods are dark and deep tonight and I have miles to go before I sleep"....hey, who planted those trees so close together? And put in all the rocks? Rebuilding my KDX 200 right now......Keep the Faith.
Yes mate, loads and loads of enduro clubs across the country. RAW Enduro, Lincolnshire Enduro club etc etc etc. Its the home of enduro for some reason :)
@@herfeo202 no in the wood you want to avoid the high rpm band and carry speed and lug to avoid spinning the tires, you can downshift if you need that power to lift the front tire over an object but it is situational if you have lots of ups and downs then lugging might not be the best but for level heavy woods it works really well
thought this bike was meant to be a the ultimate woods bike but you got left for dust. bike looked shit handling too, I don't think I will bother buying one
Jason Juggler it’s very outdated, back in the day it was a great *trail* bike. Not race bike. I ran it because my kx was broke down so it wasn’t set up for me either. Check out my newest video of my ‘12 250xcw. That’s what an ultimate woods bike runs like if you’re looking for one.
The legendary KDX.

Cheers
@@kinglouis6974 I've got a 93 200. Done lots of mods to it

Thanks for including my one and only pass right at the end! ha Green Marble here we come!!
I was the yamaha on your row. Nice ride!
I've never been on a woods ride like this being in California. Mostly desert trails or mx track out here.

That was definitly a tight section there. Perfect for the kdx. Im thinking about getting one i think.perfect for what i ride in
I think I caught you in my video after the fuel stop. Great vid.
I loved my KDXs
excellent video, I have a kdx 200 year 1995, could you tell me the gas pressure of the rear shock absorber

don't know if it's the camera, but it looks like your bars are real narrow.

Nice riding.
Majority of Go Pros & their knock offs have little to no stabilizer. I like the Sony's much better.
Thanks for posting, but you’re not doing that two-stroke any justice. You should be leading the pack!

how did you like the trail me and my friends were the people who made the trail for the first section
Zane Snyder it was nice and a lot of fun, just really muddy and torn up since it poured right before the race and I was so far back
First section was a blast to ride. Luckily the fields weren't too muddy after the rain.

Are you new to this bike? Seems like you're new to a two stroke and the shifting
Howo you shift a two stroke correctly?
@@surfpr727 use all the gears, keep it higher rpm, downshift and rev instead of bogging low rpm
Upshift in the woods, you need to be in 3rd or 4th gear lugging fast you can always downshift and haul ass,,, stand uo more but better!
Truth. Got to down shift on those openings & haul tail. I learned quick about low gears in the tight stuff.
Wouldn't you just want to be in the correct gear and almost in the band?
