I visited the Christmas edition of the Tanoshi Event at Cobham Services, and was immediately struck by the large police presence. Whilst they were initially quiet, their pull-overs got a lot more frequent as they chose people by random to pull over! This included modified cars, cars with sunstrips and even a group of 4 OAPs visiting for a quick loo and dinner break.

They're not the Police anymore, they're social workers.
😂 nice qoute I like that
Costumed parasites
Special alright.
Trust me
If they would do this on sundays, at the carboot sales, or and sainsbury parkig lots...would be fine , but no...
I turned up just before 6, gave a few revs for the crowd, Police proceeded to pull me over, call me "The biggest idiot here" ran checks on my car, on me, threatened to start opening bonnets (apparently they are qualified mechanics and also know what's been declared on my insurance policy) and treated me like some kind of hooligan. This meet always has been and will be a static meet where people with nice cars can go because these "Takeovers" ruin the scene and prevent the real car enthusiasts for coming out. Alway happy to have police presence but these lot seemed to have something to prove. Also, Hiding at the end of the straight or in unmarked cars, isn't preventative policing, it's purley to catch people out and make money.
this is why nobody comes when your door is kicked in.

Some roads policing officers do have something called PG9 training which is where they can check for illegal modifications and defects with your vehicle. So some of them do actually know what they are looking for and do check against your insurance. Also they are ROADS policing officers so they are doing their job. Cracking down on anti social driving, speeding etc. People think its just a money making thing but there is a lot more to it than that
Utter bollocks. Its about taking money and control. They showed their true colours during the stasi lockdowns. And we all know it. Including you.
I think we all know at this point the police know its far more easy to stop and fine modified cars to fit their monthly quotas instead of actually preventing crime.
Preventing ACCIDENTS.
Oh indeed..
@Djnffnoeosmfasjjd Yeah sure forcing a few hundred pounds out of guys simply enjoying their car definitely prevents accidents
I think we all know we are prepared to Fuxk around but no find out when it comes to car mods. Got a decat? You know it’s illegal, why cry when you get done? Just be prepared to accept the consequences.
@@vektorr4 obscuring your windscreen? Dangerous
Having lights that resemble brake/rear lights on the front of your car? Dangerous
Police state confirmed.
If the police were actually out patrolling instead of parked up and fining enthusiasts for petty moddifications to meet their revenue quotas then they wouldve been able to respond quicker to that actual crime later in the video.
Actual joke our police are no wonder their not respected!
How does that make a difference? The job they went to could have been anywhere in Surrey. They could have been out patrolling anywhere in Surrey. Might have even been further away if they were patrolling.
@@RozzerMildred97if they were “patrolling” they’d be dotted all over Surrey/ its hotspots? that is unless the police can’t even patrol intelligently
Revenue Quotas ? are you stupid..... They are traffic cops, there to deal with motor offences. There are no quotas, and any fine money goes to the government, not the Police......
@@jdzero5978that argument only makes sense if they were actually racing, which they weren’t
You know that officers are traffic officers, and deal with road related crime hence why they are here.
Most of these people who got pulled over, I guarantee would of mostly been words of advice.
Thank goodness the Police are de-modding cars... Real crime doesnt matter anymore. Real criminals can go free.
On the way there, saw cars held together with duct tape, no headlights, etc etc, but the modified cars are apparently the dangerous ones!
They’re all roads policing units, this is their job, keeping vehicles safe and roadworthy to prevent road accidents.
@@Djnffnoeosmfasjjd ...for minor modifications, meanwhile there are miscreants out on the highway AT THAT MOMENT wrecklessly driving and causing actual danger rather than ostensibly (look it up) "unsafe vehicles". It's all about money and you know it.

This have you got nothing better to do! Ok so you have nothing better to do than to fit a sun strip or remove your front plate making the car illegal and then the police take issue! You have gone out of your way to create a problem but no the police should turn a blind eye

Tax man meet
Well done to the police for stamping their authority unnecessarily and ruining yet another car meet 👍 Pulling people over for sun strips and tints? Christ
funny thing is the cars with christmas lights on were illegal for having the wrong coloured lights on the front and back (i think its only red from behind and only yellow to white from the front) but they were let go. this is why its important for everyone to know what mods are illegal and not illegal in case they get targeted by constable microwang who makes the law up as they go along.
Both sun strips and tints can obstruct your view and could cause a collision. The whole point of roads policing is preventing collisions on the roads.
Bet you are triple boosted if you believe that. You mug.

I'm so glad that while people get robbed and or worse, the UK police are carefully and properly stamping out the heinous crime of sun strips, and window tint
Clown
Since when has a non obstructing sun strip been illegal ? 🙄
Any excuse for more fine money. Its utterly pathetic.
Surely they can’t fine someone on private land
@@WarrenF Unfortunately, Private land with public access can be enforeced by the laws of the road.. Some exceptions such as tax as the land isn't supplied by the tax payer etc however other rules for safety do apply.
If its opaque it cant intrude into where the wipers wipe but if its translucent im sure it's legal but with the police these days its however they think the law works that night. It's easier to pick apart someones car at a car meet than do actual policing. I'm sure it we started to go through their cars we'd find something wrong as well.
The entire windscreen must be clear.
It’s not like police know how to catch criminals.

I'd love to see a police car modded and join a meet, just for the giggles.
Merry Christmas Adam, thanks for all the hilarious videos am glad I started following you this year ✌🏻
Now I know why the Police don’t turn up to burglary’s or shop lifting. Happy Christmas! Unbelievable.
These are roads policing teams, or traffic police.
Just like you wouldn't expect an air ambulance to turn up to a sprained ankle, or a fire engine equipped for vehicle extractions and rtcs to turn up to a house fire.
@@James-ke9sv That a relief .. So they work for free and dont cost the tax payers. If the Police are short of staff (not turning up to house breakins) perhaps they should retrain their staff. Mind you these guys have a car and know how tovdrive fast, perhaps they should be the first responders and catch the burglars on the job.
@@JACB006 like I said, roads policing teams. They police the roads.
These are the guys who deal with crime on the roads. If they are nearby they will obviously attend, but it's not their remit.
Obviously you have little knowledge on policing. Maybe you should go out with a traffic unit and deal with some of the serious collisions on our roads to appreciate why they do what they do.
Also, you do realize most brwakins or burglaries are reported hours, if not days after they occur.. that does not require an immediate response to deal with it. If they are in progress all available units will attend to try and locate them. Even traffic. But they are not going to be grabbing statements.
@@James-ke9sv You are wrong on almost all of the points you make …. Being a public forum I do not wish to explain in detail why. Suffice to say I do know a lot more than you assume, I have worked with the police. My point is these traffic policemen/women are not fools, nether are they free to the tax payer. Maybe the Police should retrain them and repurpose them if they are short of staff or limited by budget. It’s all to do with priorities, the public’s don’t feel that the Police are focusing on the right priorities these days.
@JACB006 you don't want to say anymore because you're talking crap
Glad to see our tax contributions not going to waste 😅
Pulling ppl over like this is crazy
Well done to the cops, these road vandals need to be taught a lesson
yet the last two traffic police cars i saw this week both had front lights out. But i bet they cant fine themselves
I hope you flagged them down and got them to fill out a VDRS! I would have been tempted to get a vehicle examiner and see if the car can be lifted!
Its funny the cops are all worried about the sun strips but not that cars have very distracting christmas lights all over it 😀

Being from the usa it is just wild to me how tame the car meets in other countries are. Most of the ones I have been to will have little to no police presence and if there is they just supervise in a non intrusive way. People can do burnouts past a cop on their way out and wont get pulled over. Idk if its just where im from and they have bigger issues than car shenanigans? Its just crazy to see someone want fun taken away from another.
You’re talking about rich people’s car meets, where cops are your friend
@@deemo5245 cops are not your friend in the city by me, but they have a lot of experience with just how bad it can be that cars arent top priority unless its stolen.
@@Sm0ky117 Well that's just it, the crime isn't as severe over here on the daily as it is in many parts of America, so petty fines for harmless mods like this are high on their list of priorities.
Hell, I don't even like sun strips, I think they look awful 90% of the time, but removing the freedom of expressing yourself with your own property just for the sake of it is utterly disgraceful. Can't wait to leave this patronising country and go somewhere (likely America) where this doesn't hurt coppers' feelings
Happy Holidays to you, Adam, and Cloe!
From the home office, 82% of burglaries unsolved in london 2022/23. I wonder why this is??
Because burglaries happen mostly on empty houses and they steal things that cant easily be tracked - consoles, TVs, etc etc. They very rarely leave any evidence, without which, how do you prosecute anyone? It's a notoriously difficult crime to find a perp, let alone link them to a specific crime.
@@EvilGav It makes no difference. Had my shed broken into a few years back, had the faces of the two guys who did it on security camera so clear it was like they had a photo shoot. Didn’t even want the footage.

Police is your best friend what they say 😂😂
If you cars legal and not been driven like it’s the set of fast and furious 111! Yeh they are !
This video's brilliant 👮♂️
Amazing how so many people are berrating these officers for doing their job and making sure these vehicles are safe.
As a police officer myself, only just a week ago i went to a fatal accident where an 18 year old died right in front of me, through no fault of his own.
If the driver of the other vehicle had kept better care of his vehicle, and was not driving like an idiot that kid would be alive right now.
Police are not just about stopping crime, but they are also to prevent it. And it's not just preventing crime, but preventing accidents like that happening. And by doing these checks, making sure vehicles are safe, and by getting these idiots off the road, its a way to do it. After all, i guarantee those who do burnouts, or drive like an idiot in a car meet, are going to do the same if not worse on a public road.
Also, i love my cars as well.
Sunstrips.
@@AdamC3046 when sun strips are too low they can restrict visibility.
Seen an accident where due to sun strip positioning, driver was unable to see the red light which caused an accident.
Well said James
Nice to see the police joining in with the Christmas lights
love how they sent loads of pigs to to these car meets and bike meets and just fun social gatherings and events but when somewhere gets burgled or someone gets assaulted or even worse they "don't have enough resources" to even care.
I can tell you are anti police from the get to, and you probably don't work at a job where your eating a hot meal, which you then have to abandon due to a child in cardiac arrest.
Or you are about to finish in 15 minutes, but relief isn't in yet and you have to blue light 30 minutes to an on going domestic, arrest, take statements and finish 6 hours late after a night shift?
I also presume you don't deal with dead people regularly, suicides, constantly dealing with adults who act like a immature child, mental health, having to look after the rapist in hospital because he's complaining of chest pains.
You realize most burglaries are not ongoing, and are reported hours or days after. There is no need for an immediate police response. Most forces will now task CSI to go down and gather evidence that way, and a phonecall for statements ECT. If it's in progress it's a different story, all officers love to try and catch burglaries in the act.
It's also the same with assaults, if it is currently in progress it will be treated as a high priority, but if it has finished and both parties have separated and gone their separate ways it's downgraded. Obviously depending on injuries will depend on how quickly you are seen.
These instances are also not dealt with my traffic police, and I will explain why.
Traffic officers are there to deal with traffic related instances. If there is a serious RTC, you want them to be able to attend. You don't want them stuck at a call taking a statement where Joe has punched bill. They will have to remain till it's done. If they are patrolling, or have a car pulled over they can get off and respond almost instantly. They go through months of training to be able to investigate these serious accidents, what a normal officer does not have. The normal officer will secure the accident till they arrive.
And people also don't seem to realize the size of an area that is covered. Sometimes travelling 30-40 miles on blue lights to attend an incident because they are the closest unit.
Now saying "why don't the units spread out more". Can be hard when you have two cars out and the other one is tied up, and you have over 500 square.miles to cover.
@@James-ke9sv I'm sorry you have to do a job you signed up for 😂 what a poo excuse. It's a hard job so give them slack is half your point. Alot of people do difficult jobs they don't want to do. A police officer signs up willingly. Job centre doesn't give you job and your instantly police

Sad to see public spending being wasted on stopping enthusiastic motorists from having a sunstrip... treating them like they're criminals. What busts my balls is some coppers are actually car enthusiasts and understand the car scene and STILL have to / want to give out fines etc.
Probably because a lot of these officers have been to traffic collisions which have been caused by people with illegal modifications, or cars in dangerous conditions...

Who remembers the Max Power meets from the 90’s?
All I saw was 2 Police cars parked the wrong way round in the designated lanes. One of which was so badly driven it was at risk of hitting pedestrians, the driver was too arrogant to reverse and forced said pedestrians to move. A normal motorist doing this in front of the Police would face charges -they escaped because their colleagues are similarly skilled and love a cover up.
If they had directed my to the "Cars & Caravans Only" parking I would have refused but offered to park elsewhere.
sun visor comes down further than most sun strips anyway ?
Their argument is a sun visor is temporary for when it is required, whereas sunstrips are permanent and unnecessary.
@@AdamC3046 I hadn't even dreamed that they'd have a problem with my sun strip. - As far as I'm concerned, with my seating position in the car it's a godsend compared to just a visor and the only things it prevents me from seeing are aircraft flying overhead. I do drive a German car but surely the threat of a Spitfire coming out of the sun went away a little while ago now?
I don't understand the problem with sun strips, in my opinion they really do help especially when the sun is low and I agree they are a godsend compared to a visor, they help our visibility on the road not decrease it, we can have the rear window fully black but we cant have something that protects the sun from blinding us @@clivereid

Its because the police anpr cameras can't see the driver properly, its a joke.
@@havingalook. Well, technically the 'area swept by the wipers' is how the view out the windscreen is legally defined. Imagine trying to write legislation that covers every vehicle, wiper style and driver height (seat position possibilities, etc), etc, it would be impossible to actually check, so they just say the 'A' area is where the wipers clear, the 'B' area is around that, and the 'C' area is behind the interior mirror, maybe also at the edges where 90+% of drivers would be seeing bodywork, etc (if I'm recalling correctly). It's how the MOT determines what size of chips are allowed in each area, smallest in the 'A' area, largest allowed in the 'C' area, providing it's not cracking and compromising the strength of the whole windscreen (when it's bonded/structural anyway).
Shows how little the police actually do when they can park up about 7 police cars and pull cars for no reason.. Also to have all the units in one place doesn't make any sense especially when its not reactive. 💩for brains!
