My finding is that waiting reduces cabin choices, I look for a mid ship room, not above or below public areas. I looked at some a year away, cabin options are limited

I don’t ever book a flight the day of the cruise. If you pay $175?air deviation fee with Oceania and Regent SS, you can still book air with them but can fly in on an earlier day. Hope Jill enjoys the baby!

Hi Jill and Jerry! London, Ontario here. Just a few thoughts on pricing, no expert. I think it depends on the age of the ship and time of travel. A newer ship and prime time sailing-eg February, March Caribbean is more expensive than off season on an older ship, with variables. So for deals, maybe not realizing as great a price reduction on those prime time sailings. We booked Holland America's Zuiderdam, which is an older ship in the fleet, for next year in November several weeks ago. It's a 14 day, sailing out of Boston and arriving in FT Lauderdale. Essentially it's her repositioning cruise from Canada/New England to the Caribbean. We got the have it all package with crew appreciation.We are in a balcony stateroom. I checked a week after our booking and it had gone up over $200.00. Then the Black Friday sales started and I checked back and it had gone down over $200.00 dollars from our original booking price. So we were able to rebook at the lower amount and saved over $400.00! Older ship and off season travel? Perhaps, but we loved the itinerary. We usually try and book at least a year out to get a good cabin choice and rate. We also fly in a couple of days before the cruise, esp in the winter, just to give us that extra insurance. Love your vlogs! Nice to have a Canadian perspective. Happy travels!

We were on a RCCL cruise earlier this month and my husband got the casino deal for a free cruise. I booked a 7 night cruise in May and we did get the room rate for free and had to pay for the port taxes. It was around $175 a person plus we got $100 cruise credit. Seems like you get offered cruises on older smaller ships which is ok with us. Not sure if this makes sense since I am not a gambler but he said you earn a point for every $4 or $5 (USD) you wager ( you don't have to lose to get the deal just bet that amount) and I believe the free cruise offers start when you get 1000 pts.

Can you please explain how you add travel insurance when you book your flights through Air Canada? Thanks!
Not sure, we have never done that before. Other sites (like Expedia) have an option to add travel insurance. There are also private insurance options.
Hi guys do you have well paying jobs & investments to afford all these cruises - amazed and jellous at the same time.
We have definitely worked hard and have point a priority on travelling as much as we can afford.
Or flys you to Panama from Halifax via Amsterdam
