Today, we are here at the Bhavana Society Center in the beautiful Highview area of ​​West Virginia, with the Most Venerable Henepola Gunarathana Mahanayaka Thero, and we look forward to sharing his life experiences with him on “Advice for a Healthy and Happy Life | Bhante G ”. Although he is a world-renowned meditation teacher, we would like to briefly introduce him before we start the discussion today.
The Most Venerable Henepola Gunarathana Mahanayaka Thero is now 96 years old, and he has been spreading the Dhamma since the 1940s. Most Venerable Henapola Gunarathana Mahanayaka Thero is the founder and President of the West Virginia Meditation Society, Retreat Center in the United States of America, which was started in 1985, and this meditation center is one of the 500 unique religious centers named by National Geographic. At the same time, Most Venerable Henepola Gunarathana Mahanayaka Thero was honored with the title of "North America's Chief Congregant".
The Most Venerable Henepola Gunarathana Mahanayaka Thero is a world traveler, who has traveled to every corner of the world sharing his knowledge of Theravada Buddhism, helping those who are seeking out mindfulness for any number of reasons- to reduce stress; to improve physical and psychological well-being; to be more effective, skillful, and kind in relationships, at work and throughout their lives.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Ven. Dr. Saddhajeewa Thero, Vice Abbot at Bhavana Society, West Virginia, for his invaluable support in guiding us through the process of hosting a series of discussions and Q&A sessions with the Most Ven. Mahanayaka Thero, a world-renowned meditation master and Dr. Saddhajeewa Thero's esteemed superior at the meditation center.
