A little trivia. After crazy sexy cool, their agency, Fantagio, went under fire and had to deal with several lawsuits. They have to change CEO and the management and because of this, All of ASTRO's activities had to be put on hold for almost a year. Due to being idle, some left the fandom. When they came back with Rise Up and had always you as the title track (which by the way was never promoted), the song talks of the difficulties the group went through. If you listen to some parts of the lyrics, It's as if ASTRO is calling out to Arohas, asking if they're still there and how the group missed their fans. Always You would always have a special place for the fandom.
I haven't know about this information before and the difficulty that astro went through but latterly this song is my favourite one its really touched my heart ❤

Like others have said, this exploration of yours is such a good thing for Arohas and those who maybe weren't as aware of ASTRO's back catalog if they got in just at ONE. The bright, boyish, middle-to-high school vibe they started with seemed to reflect who they were then, and as they've matured, so have their concepts. Sanha (who Soobin looks like, not the other way around!) as the maknae only recently started showing off the more mature side of himself as he became an adult, and I'm really proud of them that they held off doing the dark sexy stuff until he was able to really participate rather than emulate/fake that (not that being 21 or whatever turns you into an emotional adult!). "Always You" is so emotional once you know the story behind it (and others have told it here), and you nailed the vibe right away that it's sad, and longing in a different way than the others. It seems to mark the emotional changing point between the late high school and into the college years and beyond concept changes. While "Crazy Sexy Cool" had a boarding school video, the vibe reads young and having fun, where in All Night we get the more college years versions, with a bit of the sexy concept (and angelic everyone), and by Blue Flame we're on spring break with a vengeance. I'm so glad you're watching them, and more that you're loving them. They deserve all the love. Thank you! This aroha is spoiled in this channel. Your assessment of the group is pretty spot on! Musicality, stage presence, concept and not to forget the visuals is amazing with thos group. Hence it’s hard to pick a bias and hard to pick a favorite song. Also, each songs in ther album (full or mini) are worth listening to!
if you are whipped by their title tracks, i suggest try to watch their live performances and their ballad songs are just so lit, the lyrics can make you cry coz you'd like really feel the genuineness of these talented boys
Loved your reaction!! Also, Always You has a special meaning to Astro and Arohas. In 2018, lawsuits were filed against CEO of their company, Fantagio. The CEO had to step down. Since there was no one in the CEO position for quite some time, the shares of their company started to fall down. At that time Astro weren't sure if they would be able to make a comeback(same with Weki Meki). They were appearing in some variety shows, but there was no official updates on their comeback. After a really long wait, they released this special album 'Rise Up'. All members participated in writing the lyrics. The lyrics are directly meant for the fans. After completing your reactions to Astro's official MVs, I hope you react to their special MVs , You & Me (2017) ,Call Out (2018), One in a Million (2019) and We Still-Be With You (2020).

The rapper in Always You that you thought was Rocky, is JinJin haha. Rocky was actually singing in the majority of the song, so I get how you could've gotten confused. Rocky is an amazing vocalist and even sings in many of their bsides. Sometimes does high notes too 👀

Blue flame was my first song from Astro (and first Astro album i bought)! So gorgeous and sexy! My favourite of this 3 is Always you, so beautiful and touching! But i think my favourite title track from Astro is Knock!

I love how Astro shows growth in each come back and release. I think this is because most of the members where very young at the time of debut and most boy groups then where already into sexy,hard, darker themes and concepts and they might be have been swallowed up with all that as a rookie band. But the concept astro debuted with was so unusual for a boy band , they where giving so much colorful and cheerful vibes with intricately laid out choreographies in the first releases so it helped them stand out, while also giving the younger members enough time to mature to be able to fit into a more mature concept and get even better such that you can't help to notice how much better each member is becoming with each come back. The growth that shocked me the most is that of their youngest member Sanha lol. He is no longer the baby we knew at the time of their debut. They no longer look like teenage boys now, unlike when they started, that's why the mature concepts keeps blowing our minds with each come back. Their fans also grew with them and makes us appreciate them even more. Seriously Astro deserves so much more recognition because they are over talented. I loved your reaction and I'm looking forward to more.

The one hitting the high notes is mj (main vocalist , happy virus)❤️ The one with the bass voice rap is jinjin(main rapper , lead dancer , leader❤️ ) And the one with flowy rap is rocky❤️(main dancer, lead rapper , vocalist ) Sanha is the one that looks like soobin ( main vocal and dancer❤️ maknae ) Eunwoo you guessed it correct . arohas always say that as astro became older and matured (sanha was 15/16 at debut), their sound and concept matured, too. astro hasn't had an awkward concept stage because they grew into what they do now. i've been around for six years and i'm very happy to finally see people genuinely enjoying them throughout it all, it was super difficult to find when they only had what they did in 2016-2017. loving the content, thank you!
In Always You MV this last scene wasn’t under water. Moonbin was jumping on the trampoline with this dark background and some fans were on. They recorded some behind the scenes from this mv
Astro have actually gone through SO much, it actually breaks my heart. Back at the end of 2017, Fantagio's main shareholders (at that time a Chinese company who had gradually bought most of their shares over the past 2 years) suddenly executed a full-on business takeover of the company and fired the Korean CEO (who had created and owned Fantagio up until that point). They got rid of a lot of the Korean board members too, and a ton of others resigned in support of the old CEO, who went on to create a new acting label. Fantagio Music is a branch of the main Fantagio company, but without a CEO who held the necessary music licensing/distribution certificate (something you can't just BUY, Korea has pretty strict standards and also kinda gatekeeps who can produce music in the industry), Fantagio Music were essentially unable to produce/distribute any songs from any of their 3 groups for almost a year. The takeover by the Chinese investors also affected their stocks a lot, Fantagio lost a TON of money within the space of a few weeks - ex employees reported that the company bank cards were frozen, so managers were buying and paying for expenses themselves to try to get the idols to schedules. Astro even bought food for Arohas out of their own savings during a fan-meetup sports event, because they couldn't use the company cards. It took almost 10 months for the situation to resolve, and that had a huge impact on Astro's then-growing fanbase. A lot of Arohas stayed loyal, but a big portion of fans who had just started taking an interest quickly forgot about Astro. The company's financial situation went from bad to worse, and for a long time there was a big risk that Astro, Weki Meki and Hello Venus would all be disbanded in 2018. (Sadly because of the money they lost, Hello Venus disbanded the following year anyway when their contracts expired. :( ) 'Always You' was actually released in very uncertain times and with minimal fanfare because they still weren't officially allowed to promote on any of the main music shows. But Astro wanted to send a message of thanks and reassurance to any fans who were still with them, the mini album was a gift and a promise that they were still fighting to stay together. And that's why the lyrics in "Always You" are so meaningful. Astro wrote the song themselves, especially JinJin, to voice their fears and hopes - "are you still there", because they knew their fandom was shrinking, and "I want to come to you" because they were desperate to interact with fans again. MJ standing in an empty room full of chairs was a way to show that they were aware of how many people had drifted away from the group. Running through the corridors because they were still chasing their dreams, eventually all the doors come together in one place and all 6 members of Astro come together as one - a promise that they intend to stay together as a group, no matter what happens. The boys actually talked about their experiences much later, how often they worried about what might happen if the company had to disband them, and how they all made the decision as a group that they would stick together no matter what. Eunwoo also worked himself half to death doing acting/modelling/presenting/TV shows for the whole of their hiatus even during that very stressful time, because he was essentially keeping Astro afloat when they couldn't do any other work. So yeah, Astro have been through HELL and back, but came out the other side stronger and closer than ever, and Arohas love them for it. (Also in good news, the Chinese company/dodgy CEO who had caused this whole mess was later arrested and charged with money laundering back in China, so Fantagio are no longer under their control and that's why Astro and Weki Meki are doing so much better. :) )
This difficult time rallied them stronger than a family. And maybe this is another reason why Astro always thank Eunwoo for his hard work outside of the group. I respect his incredible hard work and willpower. This is something I don't have. I admire him. I admire Astro.
I'm gonna try to help a bit with faces to names, tho I'm not sure if my descriptions would be of help to anyone but me. I'll still try tho. Moonbin: Killer facial expressions and shows off his body the most. Eunwoo: Angel looking dude, mainly always has black or dark brown hair, from what I've seen at least. MJ: Shortest vocalist, does a lot of high notes. Sanha: The one that reminds you of Soobin. Has a pretty round squishy looking face. Rocky: Taller rapper that has higher cheekbones. JinJin: The shortest rapper the kind of looks like a squirrel mixed with a rabbit or something like that. I didn't do these in age order since that technically doesn't matter for knowing faces to names. I just put vocalists first and then the rappers. As far as I know no one else is a dedicated rapper.
Oh don’t worry, they all have very distinguishable voices, so I'm sure you'll learn to recognize them sooner rather than later😂 Jinjin is the rapper with the low and powerful voice at 2:20 and 7:11 and Rocky is the rapper with the softest voice at 7:02? Idk how to describe it lmao. And also he’s the fast rapper in ONE (he's also a singer, he sings in Always You in pre-chorus 2:32 and 5:07). And MJ is the main singer at 4:588:2112:46 with a really high-pitched voice that sounds almost like auto tune, but it's not lol. Anyway, thank u sm for the reaction today!!!!! I've been a fan of Astro for a long time. Always You, while not my favourite song in their discography, holds a special place in my heart. Even though there were no English subtitles at the time, I feel like most Arohas understood the message and it had me bawling my eyes out for hours. I'm really proud of how far Astro has come. Their long hiatus period really defined their wishes for Astro to not just be a popular group, but an everlasting one; so that they're able to bounce back from long periods of the unknown and spend lots of time with their fans. I think Astro's music has a sense of longing, whether it be familial, platonic, romantic, or for oneself's identity, and their songs always emphasise the importance of appreciating, protecting and understanding these feelings. Some of their b title tracks that are underrated as they don’t have MVs or were not performed/promoted as much in music shows IMO are Again, Run, Moonwalk, Because it’s You, Star, 12 hours - but yeah these 3 were the songs that I think got a lot of people to notice Astro as it was clear they were now embracing a more mature sound / concept but still keeping that refreshing Astro sound they are known for 🥰 love love your reaction and this group! Blue Flame is the song that brings me Astro. It has an special part in my heart 💜 but I love all the songs because you enjoy the voices, choreography, visuals.
fantagio was inexpert in the kpop industry, and didn’t make Astro promotions that well at the beginning and didn’t give them a lot of budget! 😟😭😔 in 2018 fantagio went through a really difficult time. like, for real. it almost disappear! and Astro practically didn’t work for the whole 2018. But at the end of that year everything got better and when they got back to stage in Seúl was so emotional 😭 Then they got their first win in January of 2019 with All night which make them cry so much and myself 😅😭, and probably Fantagio saw that Astro was the key to get out of the mess they had so the budget for Astro went up! ⬆️ again. thank you so much for reacting to our boys.
Astro was very intentional about waiting for their maknae Sanha to become an adult before venturing into the darker/sexier concepts which I think was so admirable of them. Blue Flame is still my favourite too, still can’t believe it didn’t get the win it deserved it was that song for me! Lastly a fan theory In the MV for Always you where others have mentioned their careers as idols was in Jeopardy due to company troubles you see Sanha in the car with a few plants I think that represents how the fandom had shrunk during their long hiatus. Their next proper comeback after Rise Up was their first full album All Lights with All Night as the title track and Astro got their first win with that song. In the MV do All Night you see them in the garden and it’s full and lush again representing how happy they are that their fandom stayed and grew, it’s thriving once again and we are all thankful that Astro didn’t disband :)
I don't know if you remember, but I wrote a comment about Astro's signature moves. I wrote that MJ usually has killing high note at the end of their songs and Moonbin's signature move is being naked/without piece of clothes. Yeah, that's Moonbin 🤣

Also, Always You has a special meaning to Astro and Arohas. In 2018, lawsuits were filed against CEO of their company, Fantagio. The CEO had to step down. Since there was no one in the CEO position for quite some time, the shares of their company started to fall down.
At that time Astro weren't sure if they would be able to make a comeback(same with Weki Meki). They were appearing in some variety shows, but there was no official updates on their comeback. After a really long wait, they released this special album 'Rise Up'. All members participated in writing the lyrics. The lyrics are directly meant for the fans.

The rapper in Always You that you thought was Rocky, is JinJin haha. Rocky was actually singing in the majority of the song, so I get how you could've gotten confused. Rocky is an amazing vocalist and even sings in many of their bsides. Sometimes does high notes too 👀

I love how Astro shows growth in each come back and release. I think this is because most of the members where very young at the time of debut and most boy groups then where already into sexy,hard, darker themes and concepts and they might be have been swallowed up with all that as a rookie band.
But the concept astro debuted with was so unusual for a boy band , they where giving so much colorful and cheerful vibes with intricately laid out choreographies in the first releases so it helped them stand out, while also giving the younger members enough time to mature to be able to fit into a more mature concept and get even better such that you can't help to notice how much better each member is becoming with each come back.
The growth that shocked me the most is that of their youngest member Sanha lol. He is no longer the baby we knew at the time of their debut. They no longer look like teenage boys now, unlike when they started, that's why the mature concepts keeps blowing our minds with each come back.
Their fans also grew with them and makes us appreciate them even more. Seriously Astro deserves so much more recognition because they are over talented.

arohas always say that as astro became older and matured (sanha was 15/16 at debut), their sound and concept matured, too. astro hasn't had an awkward concept stage because they grew into what they do now. i've been around for six years and i'm very happy to finally see people genuinely enjoying them throughout it all, it was super difficult to find when they only had what they did in 2016-2017. loving the content, thank you!
In Always You MV this last scene wasn’t under water. Moonbin was jumping on the trampoline with this dark background and some fans were on. They recorded some behind the scenes from this mv

Astro have actually gone through SO much, it actually breaks my heart. Back at the end of 2017, Fantagio's main shareholders (at that time a Chinese company who had gradually bought most of their shares over the past 2 years) suddenly executed a full-on business takeover of the company and fired the Korean CEO (who had created and owned Fantagio up until that point). They got rid of a lot of the Korean board members too, and a ton of others resigned in support of the old CEO, who went on to create a new acting label. Fantagio Music is a branch of the main Fantagio company, but without a CEO who held the necessary music licensing/distribution certificate (something you can't just BUY, Korea has pretty strict standards and also kinda gatekeeps who can produce music in the industry), Fantagio Music were essentially unable to produce/distribute any songs from any of their 3 groups for almost a year.
The takeover by the Chinese investors also affected their stocks a lot, Fantagio lost a TON of money within the space of a few weeks - ex employees reported that the company bank cards were frozen, so managers were buying and paying for expenses themselves to try to get the idols to schedules. Astro even bought food for Arohas out of their own savings during a fan-meetup sports event, because they couldn't use the company cards.
It took almost 10 months for the situation to resolve, and that had a huge impact on Astro's then-growing fanbase. A lot of Arohas stayed loyal, but a big portion of fans who had just started taking an interest quickly forgot about Astro. The company's financial situation went from bad to worse, and for a long time there was a big risk that Astro, Weki Meki and Hello Venus would all be disbanded in 2018. (Sadly because of the money they lost, Hello Venus disbanded the following year anyway when their contracts expired. :( )
'Always You' was actually released in very uncertain times and with minimal fanfare because they still weren't officially allowed to promote on any of the main music shows. But Astro wanted to send a message of thanks and reassurance to any fans who were still with them, the mini album was a gift and a promise that they were still fighting to stay together.
And that's why the lyrics in "Always You" are so meaningful. Astro wrote the song themselves, especially JinJin, to voice their fears and hopes - "are you still there", because they knew their fandom was shrinking, and "I want to come to you" because they were desperate to interact with fans again. MJ standing in an empty room full of chairs was a way to show that they were aware of how many people had drifted away from the group. Running through the corridors because they were still chasing their dreams, eventually all the doors come together in one place and all 6 members of Astro come together as one - a promise that they intend to stay together as a group, no matter what happens.
The boys actually talked about their experiences much later, how often they worried about what might happen if the company had to disband them, and how they all made the decision as a group that they would stick together no matter what.
Eunwoo also worked himself half to death doing acting/modelling/presenting/TV shows for the whole of their hiatus even during that very stressful time, because he was essentially keeping Astro afloat when they couldn't do any other work.
So yeah, Astro have been through HELL and back, but came out the other side stronger and closer than ever, and Arohas love them for it.
(Also in good news, the Chinese company/dodgy CEO who had caused this whole mess was later arrested and charged with money laundering back in China, so Fantagio are no longer under their control and that's why Astro and Weki Meki are doing so much better. :) )

This difficult time rallied them stronger than a family. And maybe this is another reason why Astro always thank Eunwoo for his hard work outside of the group. I respect his incredible hard work and willpower. This is something I don't have. I admire him. I admire Astro.

Eunwoo: Angel looking dude, mainly always has black or dark brown hair, from what I've seen at least.
MJ: Shortest vocalist, does a lot of high notes.
Sanha: The one that reminds you of Soobin. Has a pretty round squishy looking face.
Rocky: Taller rapper that has higher cheekbones.
JinJin: The shortest rapper the kind of looks like a squirrel mixed with a rabbit or something like that.
I didn't do these in age order since that technically doesn't matter for knowing faces to names. I just put vocalists first and then the rappers. As far as I know no one else is a dedicated rapper.
Oh don’t worry, they all have very distinguishable voices, so I'm sure you'll learn to recognize them sooner rather than later😂 Jinjin is the rapper with the low and powerful voice at 2:20 and 7:11 and Rocky is the rapper with the softest voice at 7:02? Idk how to describe it lmao. And also he’s the fast rapper in ONE (he's also a singer, he sings in Always You in pre-chorus 2:32 and 5:07). And MJ is the main singer at 4:58 8:21 12:46 with a really high-pitched voice that sounds almost like auto tune, but it's not lol.

I've been a fan of Astro for a long time. Always You, while not my favourite song in their discography, holds a special place in my heart. Even though there were no English subtitles at the time, I feel like most Arohas understood the message and it had me bawling my eyes out for hours.
I'm really proud of how far Astro has come. Their long hiatus period really defined their wishes for Astro to not just be a popular group, but an everlasting one; so that they're able to bounce back from long periods of the unknown and spend lots of time with their fans.
I think Astro's music has a sense of longing, whether it be familial, platonic, romantic, or for oneself's identity, and their songs always emphasise the importance of appreciating, protecting and understanding these feelings.

fantagio was inexpert in the kpop industry, and didn’t make Astro promotions that well at the beginning and didn’t give them a lot of budget! 😟😭😔 in 2018 fantagio went through a really difficult time. like, for real. it almost disappear! and Astro practically didn’t work for the whole 2018. But at the end of that year everything got better and when they got back to stage in Seúl was so emotional 😭 Then they got their first win in January of 2019 with All night which make them cry so much and myself 😅😭, and probably Fantagio saw that Astro was the key to get out of the mess they had so the budget for Astro went up! ⬆️

Astro was very intentional about waiting for their maknae Sanha to become an adult before venturing into the darker/sexier concepts which I think was so admirable of them.
Blue Flame is still my favourite too, still can’t believe it didn’t get the win it deserved it was that song for me!
Lastly a fan theory In the MV for Always you where others have mentioned their careers as idols was in Jeopardy due to company troubles you see Sanha in the car with a few plants I think that represents how the fandom had shrunk during their long hiatus. Their next proper comeback after Rise Up was their first full album All Lights with All Night as the title track and Astro got their first win with that song. In the MV do All Night you see them in the garden and it’s full and lush again representing how happy they are that their fandom stayed and grew, it’s thriving once again and we are all thankful that Astro didn’t disband :)
I don't know if you remember, but I wrote a comment about Astro's signature moves. I wrote that MJ usually has killing high note at the end of their songs and Moonbin's signature move is being naked/without piece of clothes. Yeah, that's Moonbin 🤣
