I can totally relate to you. I have been living in Europe for many years now and I've never really loved the typical "continental breakfast". My favorite thing in the morning is definitely rice porridge.

Love to try this. Love spicy and garlic food. Probably eat it though with rice. For Filipinos, rice is a staple food. Plus its so easy to prepare.

me as an European always admire how in Asia they actually have a cooked meal similar to lunch or dinner for breakfast already. We usually have only some fast sandwiches in the morning or even for dinner. The only cooked meal is mostly lunch

I understand how you feel, I'm also not a cereal girl. I'm from Indonesia and I've been living in Canada for a very long time but still love spicy food. Growing up with an Asian mother, we didn't eat cereal for breakfast, we ate spicy fried rice, etc. I love having my spicy fried rice with Thai basil. I wish I could grow them here in Canada. I tried propagating them when I bought them in Asian grocery store, however it never worked. I wonder if you have any suggestions growing Thai basil indoor. Keep it real. This is my kind of breakfast, granted it's served with runny eggs and very hot short-grain white rice, although I could live with jasmine rice. The protein kick from the eggs and pork are actually a very nutritious way to start the day. Chilies are also highly effective at fighting inflammation. I like the simplicity of this recipe and will give this a try!

More of these breakfast recipes Please, Marion, this is SUPER healthy compared to our standard Aussie toast and cereal though I agree, I much prefer a hot breakfast, usually leftovers from dinner whatever that was, I do love curry for breakfast, or cold pizza, YUM Btw, as someone who lives in the semi rural bush, you certainly have the best of both worlds, I am guessing its somewhere in QLD? Somewhere near Brisbane would be ideal in my eyes.

A slightly alternative version of breakfast which works great too: cup of black coffee, shot of grain alcohol (large), cigarette and a slice of bread (dry). No running or exercising prior, that'd defeat the routine.
I’m not Asian but my rice cooker always has rice in it and I eat an egg, rice, and avocado for breakfast every day.
