My favorite vocalist with my favorite acoustic guitarist; this was amazing to watch. Dan was looking at Jon most of the time like, how the hell are you going to sing backup and play that at the same time. Dan was definitely in for a surprise when he realized he could, and this was a beautiful thing to watch. I wish they would do more collabs together.

If you say so, I imagine he not only new and had seen that already but that they might have practiced it together, at least once. And yeah, people who play guitar at this absurd level of difficulty (not all that many, world wide) and sing at the same time are next level 'out there'. Especially true on songs where he's tapping, doing scads of different percussion effects, turning tuning knobs away and back, and more, some of them simultaneously. Then, he writes the stuff, too. As far as the level of difficulty and stellar performance, I'm totally with ya. I'm just waiting for him to totally retune the entire guitar on the fly during a song. My guess is if he could figure out how to do that transparently and thought it might be of use, he would do it. Nothing seems to scare this guy, musically. :-/
Ah I missed listening to this song. Daniel was at his best here. Also, Jon's stage presence is sooo joyful, a physical representation of every musician or guitar player having true joy or fun while playing guitar.

Daniel Is too hard on himself. I'm sure he could get some fx pedals that would help with the octaves in tough spots, or have some realtime equipment to help with consistency.
