You Sir are a magician.
What is the tool called that you use to remove the advance lever?
You're a real expert- did you take classes to learn this trade?
I trained with Kodak a long, long time ago.
@@ChrisSherlock That figures.
On my Retina 1a’s viewfinder the front glass is covered in dust on the inside.
I was hoping that I could get to the glass by removing the camera top but at 2’ 17” it looks like the viewfinder is a one piece unit - is that correct?
Also, what is the make and size of the screwdriver that you are using from 1’ 51” to 2’ 06”?
The ones that I have are useless.
No, you can access the glass by removing the single screw on the underside of the top cover. The screwdriver is by Moody, It measures 0.10", 2.54mm. The problem with a lot of cheap screwdrivers is that the tip is too thick to engage the screw slot. You may need to shape the screwdriver tip better.
Hi Chris,
Many thanks for the quick reply.
I used my Retina 1 & 1a a lot in the 1970s and now, inspired by a friend who’s gone back to analogue, I’m getting them out of mothballs and into regular use.
I’ve subscribed to your amazing channel.
Once again, many thanks.
