Prague, Czech Republic! No Longer Retiring In Thailand!

- In today’s video, we visit some sites around Prague followed by a engagement ride around the city. Afterwards, I talk to Rich and Kanok about their previous plans to retire in Thailand.

Joe, that was exactly what I have been trying to tell everyone on these expat retirees channels. If you can afford to live in your paid off house in America and retired, you should just live in America and travel to visits other countries. Where ever you go around the world, there will be some kind of hassles with 90 days check in law or yearly visa renewal application process. There are no visa laws for you to comply with if you just retire and live in your home country. I was able to afford to retired in California, so I just live in my California house, where the weather is perfect 80% of the time, and then I travel all over the world for about 3 to 6 months out of a year.
Gift and I plan on traveling more but will keep our home base in Thailand.

Good to have guys back; hope you both had a chance to take some "happy" alone time together. Truly a lost art and so breathtakingly beautiful too, the trappings of the city. A step into the past! Love the videos. As I’ve said many times my 22 years of Thailand trips have been an up and down evolution. I always thought id retire in Thailand but since I met my wife and inherited a house in Southern California that’s a sanctuary for us that’s changed. Your friends say there’s good weather in Florida. We love visiting Florida but take that another level and that’s where we live. For most people cost is the only negative here everything else is amazing.
We were in Thailand for 34 days and it never dipped below 100r. We have been back for a month and it’s been 70f the whole time. Not a drop of rain.
I can ride my bike 8 miles to the beach and it’s as safe as it was in 1977. That’s something Thailand will never have although that path in the city you live seems safe.
Now I find myself working on a way to keep traveling and keep living in Southern California. lol keep up the good work.
I find myself arguing with people a lot because they say things like "the atmosphere in the USA". Your buddy that does videos is pretty cool but he throws little comments that enable that fantasy the the USA is bad. I don't get it.
ITs expensive in relation to thailand, Thailands a choice and no choice comes without sacrifice. I think Thailand is an awesome choice, don't get me wrong, but my viewpoint is that sure the us is different than back in the day but all the negative you hear in the news is about a vast country and put into a page for the negative people to cry about.
In my vast travels fo 30-45 weeks a year in the usa, (my wife visited 20 states in just her first year here on my work trips) Eveyplace has its good and bads, and I have never had an altercation or a scary experience in my travels in the USA or Thailand for that matter.

Joe,,and Gift,,beautifu city ,,my uncle was there during war world two he was part of special unit giving back stolen art from the germans,,just after the fall of Berlin,,he kept getting lost because at night the streets have no point of reference,,n others words the buildings,,streets look alike,,plus he was drunk with his unit,,😅😅 great video bro,,!!!😊

No Rich and Kanok use to live in a cottage near ours, before we built our home.
Loving all your video's from Prague, There is so much of our true history that is hidden in plain sight in this part of the world ( Tartarian Empire ) One thing I have not seen and it should be of great interest to you is to go and look at the PRAGUE CLOCK, It is an ASTROLABE, I'd be interested if the people understand that this is a true world clock and it depicts our current realm and its location within the greater realm as seen in the mirror reflection of what we commonly call the moon. it would be very interesting to see what the locals say about it.

Too cold there. Utilities could be an issue. Close to Russia is not the best place to be.
We had an amazing time and now Prague is very special to us. We plan on going back there for a Christmas one of these years.

What’s amazing is how Europe has been rebuilt after the utter destruction during WWll….such awesome architecture….
Prague and generally Czechia weren't destroyed during the war. All the buildings are original.
Does Gift have to apply for a Schengen Visa?
Yes, Gift had to apply for the Schengen visa and since we were traveling to 6 different countries, it needed to be a multi Schengen Visa.

Another great vlog Gift and Joe. Prague is certainly a beautiful historic city. I only got to stay there for 15 hours due to a delayed transfer flight and wished that I had more time there. The churches all have there own distinct characteristics and it was interesting how the reverence shown by visitors in the first church, which is still in use, disappeared for the Basilica of St. George which is clearly no longer used as a church. Did you know that St. George is the patron saint of England? When in a big church like the first one or a Cathedral, I always wonder how it is kept clean and how much that must cost. I loved Rich's description of the organ. The car ride was a good idea and the driver seemed very knowledgeable. Hi Joe and Gift, Joe I dont mean to ask an ignorant question so its not my intent. Im just wondering if Gift is a Buddist, is she familiar with Christianity and what does she find interesting about it if anything?
Gift is Buddhist and she is learning more about my faith as I continue to learn more about hers. We have a mutual respect and understanding for each other’s beliefs, and our relationship will continue to grow on that as well.
