      I don't focus on my own personal problem when I learned about other people's real serious personal problems. Most often we are too emotionally deeply involved in our own problems, but when compared to other people's, our own problems seem like nothing or very small.

      California life has gotten much worse under Newsom.
      Gas is way too expensive, taxes are high, there’s a $40 billion debt, record increase of homeless and illegals, and surging crime.
      That’s why 75k net residents, just like Jillian Michaels, left California last year.

      Instead of "everyone being addicted to true crime" wouldn't it be better if everyone was addicted to Stopping Crime before it happens ??? Consider that just 200 years ago there were no police depts or penitentiaries in America. What changed ??? Why do Americans think of Crime as Entertainment rather than as a Social Disease that needs to be cured ??? 😮

      @@vanessashaw5365 They will, whenever someone cares to have them do it, or more likely someone already has but it's expensive and thus not easily available. I've come across a few where I wasn't sure, and they likely were AI but they had slight 'defects' where certain words combined were a bit imperfect. The AI narration has massive advantages in that people who do have an accent can produce videos narrated clearly. A fair bit of these videos are produced by people who are in countries where the main language is not English, or it's not understandable like parts of the UK. The main thing is that the massive lowering of thresholds that YT, cheaper editing software and cameras, and text to speech is a huge benefit to all since it is a form of democratization of the media landscape which means more content, more diverse opinions and viewpoints etc are readily available for those who wish to expand their knowledge. Downside is you have nutcakes putting out trash that looks professional, but yeah...

    • @vanessashaw5365
      @vanessashaw5365 2 місяці тому

      @ Thanks for that in-depth explanation. I admit, I had not considered it from that angle. I think what concerns me most is the absence of spontaneous inflection. The lack of accented intent. With regard to “ diversity” among these various AI renderings is that as long as they are controlled by man…unless they gain independent thought..knowledge that is not programed into them, cannot express itself as such because it did not evolve from a place of human experiences. See what I mean?

      My mother was in the courtroom when Quisling was condemned to death. She was part of RAF intelligence and trained with Norwegian commandos at a camp in the north east Scotland. She was then a Scottish based radio operator for those agents. Mum was taken to Norway when the German's surrendered and was there for about a year. We have a coffee cup made in Norway with a swastika on it that mum brought back and lots of photos of her skiing with the Norwegian forces. She also copied a letter from the intelligence files from the Quisling to Hitler. My daughter used it in a school history essay on Hitler and got a very good mark. Mum and a number of other women in RAF intelligence were all given beautiful dinner services from the King of Norway as a thank-you for their services. My sister has that today. Mum never talked much about her role in that war and what I know was gleaned from many, many questions over many years. A lot of her friends were executed and tortured. She just said to me, "when the Quisling was condemned to death, she was delighted."

    Throughout all these episodes when they mentioned a semi automatic handgun, they call it an automatic Handgun, which is totally different. That means it was modified in someway by someone to shoot multiple cartridges at a time as opposed to a semi automatic, where the finger that has to be placed on the trigger. Every time is pulled. One cartridge is ejected.

    Roy Radin was not a good guy. Roy Radin and a wealthy businessman, Robert McKeage IV, beat and raped Melonie Haller at the weekend party on July 1980. She was an actress on Welcome Back Kotter and a playboy model. After the attack, Haller was found on the Long Island Rail Road train, unconscious. She also accused Radin’s then-fiancée, Toni Fillet, of harassing her and taking part in the assault. On January 26, 1981, Robert McKeage IV pleaded guilty to assaulting Melonie Haller during his visit to the Long Island Mansion. He also admitted to intentionally causing physical harm to Haller and striking her violently with his hands and fists. He was 43 years old and pleaded guilty to second-degree assault. As per the New York Times, this charge typically calls for a minimum of 7 years in prison. However, based on the plea deal, the Suffolk County Court sentenced McKeage to 30 days in jail. He was additionally placed on five years of probation. Meanwhile, Roy Radin was fined $1000 and was placed on probation. He pled guilty to the possession of a gun that was found during the investigation. Toni Fillet, who was his fiancée at the time, was also fined $50 for harassing Melonie Haller. According to the Daily News, although she also accused the men of sexual assault, the court did not convict any of the accused of rape. The case was tried in the federal court because Haller’s attorneys established that Radin was a fairly influential local figure. Melonie Haller never got justice for what they did to her. That is what Judges thought of women back then.

      It's hard to say.
      The documentary mentioned that a drug-running friend of Radin was accused of the theft; the story is very convoluted, but from what I could gather, the drug runner's name was Talmadge Rogers, and he claimed to be responsible for the theft in an interview while awaiting charges for child molestation in Louisiana.
      Apparently he'd been getting paid $20,000 per coke delivery; however, later he found out she was actually supposed to be paying him $30,000 per run instead, so he claimed that he ripped her off to get even.
      That said, her friends and associates all knew she was a coke-head and she often shared her drugs with many of them, so theoretically, anyone that could crack a safe could have been the bandit since it wasn't exactly a secret that she was fixed up and probably had a pretty good sized stash somewhere nearby, potentially at her home.
