It was. The leader of the Imaskari Empire battled Horus in the sky above his palace. He used three powerful artifacts, and rode atop an ancient red dragon. The battle was so OP it made the Purple Dust Desert of Raurin.
I believe in "Elder Evils" (3.5e) it was also written that the Imaskari in fact started the war against the gods, although somewhat "by accident". They were afraid when the Egyptian and Sumerian gods arrived, but instead of yielding to them, they searched for a way to defeat or overpower them and discovered another reality where they found a being of enough power to destroy these gods. They contacted the being and asked for it to fight the gods, and the being willingly accepted, thrilled by the idea of slaying gods. When they summoned the being, it had no ill will or reason to distrust them, and so they altered their summonings to rupture spirit from body, as they knew it was far too powerful to ever be contained whole. They sealed both spirit and body away to have it stored as a doomsday weapon, so to speak, and then boasted to the gods about their weapon capable of destroying them. I believe the Imaskari sought to bend the gods to their will, or at the very least make them go back where they came from. The gods reacted instantly and razed the Imaskari empire to the ground. The reason they destroyed Imaskar so thoroughly was only partially because they wanted to help their people, but mostly because they were so fucking afraid of THAT THING. The Imaskari never got to reunite the spirit and body of said being as they were taken by surprise. So the being, still separated, is still imprisoned to this day, and it is really, really bored. It tries to lash out to people to free it, but its mind is simply too strong and those it can reach normally die very soon. That´s a good thing, however. Since it loves honoring its pact and is also still thrilled by the idea of killing gods, freeing this thing and reuniting spirit and body would likely end the multiverse, or at least kill the gods as we know them. Because yes, the Imaskari wizards were not stupid. This thing WAS powerful enough to commit mass deicide, and it still is.
@@rakshalneyrak9862 Thing is, Pandorym is Hard lawful. They'd 100% just kill the gods and leave the rest of the multiverse alone if they were freed. Considering how dickish faerune's god's are... NGL one of my favorite fanfictions is a crossover with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and involves that Imaskari slavery story, by basically taking the existence of all the old Earth mythic gods being in the Planescape setting and that enslavement story as a springboard and saying that as they left the Earth, the host of old gods locked it down with some old Wind Dukes of Aaqa left to "hold the fort" until their return, but the minders decided they liked being in charge and hid/warded the entire planet from their former masters, and it takes a member of the Imaskari invasion force who had gone into hiding and somehow reset herself into childhood at least once invoking the Silver Fire of Mystril and thusly getting in touch with Mystra, who then nicely asks Gaia for permission to move in and become our new Goddess of Magic, for the seals to finally break... and Gaia is not amused with the negligence of the old gods, especially since the Nine Hells have been infiltrating and causing mischief, and basically spanks any old god who wants to come back, forcing them to take on forms from modern pop culture (Loki has to take on his Marvel incarnation, Athena has to become an anime character, Raijin has to become Raiden, etc). The fanfic is titled, "I, Buffy, Adventuress" and sadly is incomplete and seeming abandoned, right after a reveal that Primus had secretly achieved a foothold on Earth by having a Modron who had been a part of that old invasion force (who was also left on Earth) basically create androids named the Autobots who apparently created the Transformers franchise in the fanfic's version of Earth as a means of setting up a panic button so that, if the Baatezu started a power move to absorb all the souls on Earth, they could swoop in and snag a huge chunk to take to Primus instead. The fanfic diverges from Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the episode Anne at the start of Season 3, with the hell dimension he enters having spined and bearded devils with a horned devil commander who manage to overpower and imprison her for a bit, and she's later rescued by an adventuring party and reincarnated (cause her body is basically done for by that point), becoming an elf.

TY so much for making these condensed lore videos Mr Rhexx. As a new comer to the D&D universe with Baldur's Gate 3 i want to learn much about the history of Faerun and your videos help a lot. Seems like there were a lot of wars defining the history of this land and very little of else. I wish writers would also write about great engineering achievements, construction projects and other creative events from the times of peace, but i guess the target audience would not like that very much. I also thank you for finding all these amazzing images to bring color in your videos and stir the imagination. I have parteken in a few of them myself. Great job and looking forward to the next episode. Now back to my adventure :).

I remember learning about Imalskar and their war with gods while playing NWN2. Felt sorry for them. Yes, they were slavers but who wasnt at that time and fight was not a bit fair. Their tenacity was respectful as they did rather ok having in mind that they fought literal avatars of gods.
Hey, MrRhexx. Where die you get all these historic maps of this Series? I mean the ones like the Imaskar Empire, the second and fourth crown wars and the Days of Thunder.
I can't remember if this was already discussed in the video, but is that why dwarves have fertility issues? They had a clone war where, after it ended, thousands of people in the gene pool were direct copies of each other? If that amount of inbreeding had no effect on them, I'd be surprised.

If I could make a suggestion I would like to see a video on Bahamit, I loved the video on Tiamat and would like the opposition. I have a Paladin for each dragon god in two different campaigns but I feel like I know more about Tiamat than Bahamit other than he is lawful good. Thanks for lore and hope to see a lot more.
@MrRhexx The ‘next time’ portion of the video was so great! Loved that ^_^
I'm definitely hoping you come back and keep adding to your dragons of dnd legend series. I love dragons and enjoyed watching
I would love to hear more about the Imaskari and the fight with the earth gods
loved this video.. its allways nice to se some info about dwarves.. all the rest is interesting :P but the dwarves are my most beloved race... ( i would like to know more about the dwarven-human war agains the remaining genies from calishman
So how about history of Delzoun Dwarves founding of Mithralhall and Gautaglym. And the primodial trapped in latter, what is with that?
. . . bro. This is so awesome. I had no clue that Deepspawn were a thing. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a massive Clone Wars arc to make in D&D.
This was amazing to watch. Awesome job
Thanks for this.
I hope you're feeling better.
You were not kidding when you said "it got crazy"!
@MrRhexx my word man! You produce valuable content like there's a gun to your head. Thank you for what you do. You deserve a billion subscribers.
talking about the earth gods sending avatars to Toril, lol and how you discriped how they got there, my brain said ... of they planeswalked. ... avatars are planeswalkers??
but i guess thats what i get for building a mtg deck while listening to your video. LMAO
they didnt planewalk. they took a spelljammer (basically).
Always a good day when you upload a video! Thank you!
You weren't kidding, this video didn't take long to release at all.
I hope you cover the other continents as well as Kara-Tur!
Wow this is epic thank you for composing all of this just man
Would love to see a video over the Drow and the Luxon religion
Amazing video man.
Need a video on halflings please! My favorite race ❤
Great series man, This is so cool
This kind of video is what Wizards of the Coast should be giving us, but I very much appreciate you doing it for them. I'm already crafting a new campaign based off of this information as I watch this. Thank you for making these!
Great video! Thank you ❤
Just found you. Running a campaign from just after Tearfall so this is right on time.
I want vampire and pit fiend Lore so badly
Thank you Mr. Rhexx you are my favorite
The Egyptian gods weren't messing around.
Do not tick off two divine pantheons when you have no gods.
If you want to use the Deep Spawn for . . . either creating a clone army or other nefarious reasons. Maybe you just wanna kill them, there's a series of books on DMsguild that has them - Monster Manual Expanded 1-3. I think they're in book 3. They've also gotten sick art!
Anyone else amused at the irony of a story about Egyptians being enslaved in a land not their own before their gods intervened?
Not really, considering that every enslaved people of the egyptians, were and continued to be slavers themselves. Illyrians, Nubians, and the numerous Semitic tribes that they enslaved were all practitioners of slavery
Hey bro, would you ever be able to do an Aarakocran video?
Ive started my first ever dnd game and we’re about three sessions in. I was wondering if there is anything interesting that we don’t know about Aarakocra. It’s my first time ever playing and I got inspired by watching all of your lore videos 🤩
God damnit, your videos are making my plain polish mornings in work very happy! Thank you!
My campaign is set in the Dalelands and related to its ancient and recent history. I am eager to here about the events leading up to the foundation of them and the Dale Reckoning calendar
Big W for earthling Gods for saving their people.
9:19 Begun the clone wars have
17:57 a massive what attack? Someone please help
Gods speed on you academic quest
No Urdunnir or Ultoksamrin or Vault of Cloaked Midnight?!! FeelsBadMan, it ties in to all the dhaerow/drow stuff...
Loved this!!
Thanks for the lore! ^^
You failed to mention the Yehimal_Mountains (look on the wiki).
The enslavement of the dwarves by the giants (especially the influence of the fire giants), back when the elves were under the dragons thumbs.
How Faerüin got its name.
Your video is very limited on dwarves for that title.
Love the content and can not wait for sands of doom!!!!!!!
That connection to Earth history is nuts. Nice however that our deities had our backs.
"Delving any deeper might not be useful"
The dwarves watching this video: EXCUSE ME?!? ROCK AND STONE, DEEPER AND DEEPER
Is there any book you would recommend to learn more about the history of dwarves? Anything you used to research for this video? Great job by the way
Holy sh*t... NO APOLOGY?!! 😱🤯
Can it be true??! Did MrRhexx finally understand that We love his content and he doesn't need to reaffirm our trust in his ability to make new content when he has time??! 🤔... (God I hope so; "thumbs up" 👍 for this one. I hope it continues so I can re-subscribe 🤞)
If only we could make real history so interesting.
I mean, it is this interesting but it hits much more close to home
Dnd lore is so badass
Great video!
I remember learning about Imalskar and their war with gods while playing NWN2. Felt sorry for them. Yes, they were slavers but who wasnt at that time and fight was not a bit fair. Their tenacity was respectful as they did rather ok having in mind that they fought literal avatars of gods.
Hi Fermin!
So cool!
Lots of parallels between Duergar and Chaos Dwarves.
heir went tomb robbing? international incident? threat of war? you can have him
another great video MrRhexx
Hey bud. Just stopped by to see what you were up to. Still DnD I see. That's cool. I'm sure we will cross paths again soon
Do a video on Asmodeus's daughter Glasya Princess of Hell please!
Forgotten Realms humans should have watched Yu-GI-OH. Then they would have known not to mess with Egypt
Hey, MrRhexx. Where die you get all these historic maps of this Series? I mean the ones like the Imaskar Empire, the second and fourth crown wars and the Days of Thunder.
spawn war is coolest dwarf thing in fiction
I want the Egyptian God War!
Can you make a video on Hindu or Vedic Pantheon as well?
Nice now I have more cannon to add to my homebrew. Started off in Calisham... Then I destroyed it session 0 lol
What happened to the dragons of legend series?
I can't remember if this was already discussed in the video, but is that why dwarves have fertility issues? They had a clone war where, after it ended, thousands of people in the gene pool were direct copies of each other? If that amount of inbreeding had no effect on them, I'd be surprised.
Are you planning on doing any of the other d&d settings??? I'd love to hear you talk about Dark Sun.
3000 years long war against humans? Why dwarfs have grudge against orcs/goblins and not humans? Also, at best half of the video is about the dwarfs.
Regarding your Moster Classes book's do you think you can make the rules to play as a harpy?
Awesome series!!!
