EDIT: The reason for the updated review was twofold. First I learned this morning that Propagation doesn't have a Platinum trophies (the trophy list still isn't live). And second, my original review made it sound like the developers didn't include ANY haptics in the game, which simply isn't true. There are haptics for most interactions, but games like Village and Tales set the bar pretty high for haptics and Propagation doesn't really deliver here. That said, these are extremely minor complaints and Paradise Hotel is still a must buy for all VR horror fans. Thanks! :D
Thanks for the update. The haptic thing was confusing because in Pumpkins review he said he loved it when he used the hand dryer and the haptics tricked his brain. Glad there is some haptics as games without PSVR2 haptics are a disappointment to me. Is there headset rumble like when blood drips down from ceiling?
I am yet to get Tales as I already owned it on Quest 2. I know PSVR2 version has big upgrades all round so definitely picking up a physical version at Christmas as I love a physical game and a bit of Star Wars at Christmas.
The haptics under the hand dryer are amazing ! I must of turned it on 5 times . Need more of this ! We Should be able to flush toilets , pump out soap from the dispenser etc . But the hand dryer absolutely nailed it for me .
This game is so well done. The level of quality here far exceeds most VR games. I will most definitely be looking for more from this studio. The fact that they absolutely NAILED the VR interactions deserves a ton of praise. Doors, drawers, grabbing items, etc… are all on point and work wonderfully.
I now feel a sense of relief for you, Bryan. Half way through spooky month and you officially have one banger of a PSVR2 horror title to enjoy. Let's see some more! Great review, as always!
I don't care about game time, the most important thing is game quality. If a low-quality game has 100 hours of play time, I'm not interested in it even if it's free... I don't understand why someone would target game time.
Because people pay for the game and receive a couple of hours. For example, when you pay for GT7 you receive an unlimited game. But this is just a one time thing. However, the Propagation Hotel does not cost very much. But anyway I understand other people when they are frustrated because of "short hours"
Bryan we need more “let’s plays” from you this gen. We haven’t seen many and this seems like a perfect one. Need those spooky let’s plays for the Halloween season
Just picked up this game..thanks for the review Bryan. I was the guy (Rob Axl)in the live chat the day before.. that was telling everyone to get the game and was wishing it would get released early by accident…😆…Great review for a great game…this is one of the only games that made me jump several times and I was literally shaking at some points in the game
Hey, I've been having a bit of a resurgence with my psvr2 after lowering the brightness and reducing headaches. I'm so glad you are still pumping out reviews, I bought a few b@sed on your reviews and played this one last night. I barely jump at anything but within an hour I had crapped my pants at least 3 times
I am sad but I completely understand that games are being made PSVR2 only and that PSVR is out to pasture. It means missing out on experiences like this and the upcoming Phasmophobia - something I've wanted to play in VR since it first came out on PC. IF I actually get my tax refund in the Spring, I think I'll be able to get hold of the PSVR2.
Propagation released on the Quest 2 so it 100% could have been released on the PSVR1 if the team wanted to do so. But too many people moved on from PSVR1 to other headsets that the market is so small now -- so I do understand why almost no studios are releasing games for it anymore
I would love to know how they’ve managed to eliminate mura on this, I really thought I was going to struggle given how dark it is in places, I’m really intrigued as to how they’ve achieved it where firewall has failed for me
Ok. I played for almost 90 minutes and had to take a break. Man, its pretty damn immersive. Im coming off the Walking Dead Remakes on PSVR2 and this looks and feels way better. Physics and gun handling are top notch and the visuals are incredible, probably the best of seen on the VR2 so far (keep note i havent played Red Matter but its on my list) but if Red Matter looks better than this im really impressed. The sounds and atmosphere really gets you in. Especially the lighting and shadows, the shadows coming off your flashlight are the best ive seen in VR. Just adds depth to everything. Zombies are actually really well designed and creepy and shooting them feels extremely satisfying. Justs the designs and scale of them kinda just makes me actually freaked out when one comes out of nowhere or youre just being chased by one in general it gets pretty intense. Just the way they move and react feels dead on whereas Walking Dead feels more, you know, cartoony. Theyre not really scary because the animation isnt really realistic but its still immersive and fun (although the school did freak me out a bit) Paradise Hotel does feel like Resident Evil though. It certainly feels inspired by it in the best way possible. If they can turn this into a bigger and more cohesive game theyd have something truely amazing on their hands. Buy this and maybe we'll get something even more amazing in the future by these guys. This is a winner at a good price point.

Bryan, in toally dark spaces the mura is still pretty obvious. It looks fine when it's a mixture of light and shadow for the most part, but all black areas you can see it clearly.

I went into this without watching any reviews or anything so I can experience it all for the first time myself. It was a fun spooky game, but really felt like it was a full game cut in half. I played on hard and cleared the game in 3 hrs, even with exploring and backtracking. I had a great time, but was shocked when the game cut to black and rolled credits.
So I’ve been playing this game for like 20 mins a day over the course of 2 weeks. First off, it’s a must buy, plain and simple. If I didn’t know any better this is REVillage in terms of graphics - it literally looks almost identical to Village VR. I also love the map and the inventory, the fact you can see yourself in real time on the map is amazing. I love the green and red door indicators. The game really is a top tier VR game of all time imo. The only thing I’d improve on is maybe more stuff to find? But at the same time I like how simple it is - just batteries and ammo. And $20??? Buy it!

I tend to stay away from horror titles like this in VR., but did manage to complete Resident Evil Village in VR. I'm also playing "The Calisto Protocol" on the PS5 which is a tense, enclosed horror title but has not nearly the effect on me as Paradise Hotel.

If you think 4 hours is bad then just know AJ beat this on Hard in only 3.5 hours lol
@@WithoutParole haha :-D
@@aobrien_ I played Propagation in one sitting and was EXHAUSTED by the end because I was so tense the entire time
@@aobrien_ I'm lucky, ive never gotten any kind of VR sickness so to me, it's just a game but in VR and im seriously tired of short VR games when i'm a gamer that likes my 100+hr games hence why I just cannot justify buying psvr2.
Why are there so many horoor games on VR, the only ones I want to play are RE8/4, the others are too dark.
I'm a sucker for zombie games and this one fell flat for me. The graphics of the hotel are nice at first but the zombie models look terrible. Everything is too simple and the game is too short with an ending that falls off a cliff. There are 2 things to loot in this game batteries and bullets.
It is a fun game bui It needs an update on the gun handling and and sony needs an update period
What issue are you having with the gun handling? Imo its perfect.
The gun handling is fantastic
nice
I can't find a physical copy I don't buy digital games so I won't be getting this
Missing out! It’s a short, fun trip!
I genuinely cannot see Mura and think it's a myth people have Placeboed themselves into seeing.
buy some glasses
No plat = wait for minimum 75% price drop 😑
Get a job
No Plat = No Buy
I’m a trophy whore at heart 😂
No platinum = no purchase
It has platinum trophy. Mine has it clearly.
Oh no a edited review?! Damn. Unsubbed.
Man unedited reviews would be so much easier if that's what you prefer! :D
@@WithoutParole oh my bad. I thought this was an established review channel, np dude :(
@@pippawheelie4388 I don't even know what to take from this... 😆 Internet people are wierd.
@@DissTrackTed well these channels put out a review, it gets backlash and then they re upload an edited video.
It shows the channel has zero integrity, because where do your viewers stand? Should they just trust this latest review?, the last one you did before? Or will there be another re upload once people disagree with this newest edited version?
It’s mad there are people on here who don’t understand what it means being consistent to your viewership. UA-cam is a very funny place 😁
Does this game have replay value?
