During the meet and greet in Helsinki in 2019(?) I asked the Cardinal about an album called Passiflora and he just tapped his nose and told me he had no idea what i was talking about. Take from that what you will.

also, here is why the the lawsuit ghouls and Linton are disliked around here, if you (the person reading this and viewing the video) aren't aware: They pretty much bullied Tobias at the time of the lawsuit, for example by supporting (or commissioning, but that's not clear) a fic where he gets raped (done by Simon Söderberg), supporting or creating a GoFundMe for lawsuit costs that uses Tobias's dead brother to insult him (done by Henrik Palm), causing death threats and such and doxxing him and his family (these two don't have solid evidence) and of course the constant (in my opinion pretty pathetic) badmouthing and turning his friends against him. Oh, and Leviathan Forge/Leon, who cosplays/kins Tobias in a very intrusive and disrespectful manner and started badmouthing him as well after Ghost mgmt told him that they agreed to him getting a spot-on Papa IV costume from the company making it but that him heavily featuring it on social media was not ok, is also friends with Linton Rubino and it can be assumed that Linton is quite a fan of him doing that stuff.
not to mention the constaint threats of walking off the tour, CnD was meant to be a DVD but they changed it to a CD because they couldn't risk it financially, by the time CnD was made, it was post them all being fired, so it's aether, dewdrop (on bass) mountain, ifirt and i forget with piano ghoul.

@@SweetHeart4563 a lot of that stuff has since been deleted for obvious reasons, but there are screenshots of the gofundme and of the retweet of the r/pe fic that I recall, and all the badmouthing (a lot of Simon Söderberg calling Tobias manipulative) is just out there, but there is no consolidation of this stuff that I'm aware of, so it's hard to link to on yt.
@@SweetHeart4563 you can spend the day looking over r/ghostlawsuit at the translations of the court hearings and documents, tho they are pro ex ghoul over there, i've looked over a few documents including their final contract, they were in the wrong.

@@TheKartoffel101 No they haven't. Ghost fans only assumed due to Martin being thanked in Prequelle credits. Martin actually came out a few weeks ago in an interview and revealed Tobias forced him out of Ghost and that they are not in any way or form buddies anymore.
Thank you so much for this video. Yeah...if I think about it too hard how the problematic ex ghouls have behaved, it ruins the music for me & I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because no one's perfect but damn after the gofundme and bringing up T's brother it was a little much for me.
just remember they didn't write the music, only tobias and martin did, they were no diff to the current ghouls job wise

I mean, I believe one of the reasons the lawsuit is flimsy, is because they had no creative control over the songs and the music but they never wrote anything anyway. Suing is their only claim to fame, honestly 🤦

You did a good research but missed that Ludvig Kennberg played drums on plenty of the Ghost albums and he was also playing with Dead Soul. Ludvig was such an important part especially for the first album. You also missed Cowbell Ghoul. The only ghoul that has never been replaced! And if you got all the insight on how all the recordings worked behind the scenes between many of the bands you would be suprised. We did have some good years all of us.

@@doomerzoomer Priest was formed by Linton Rubino. Everyone confuses Simon with Alex. Simon was only the producer for the 1st album and the EP. He was never a band member. Alex Högberg also known as Sulphur played on the electronic drums and did samples at shows. Actually he composed a lot of songs in the band especially on the Obey EP. He left with the first singer Mercury 1.0 on the February of 2019. Mauro joined the band as a new keyboardplayer on the March of 2019.
I'm pro-TF and Martin and I gotta say Prequelle also throws some immaculate shade at the ex-ghouls. It's just *chef's kiss*

priest is so sad like. what is that. imagine making ur entire career abt hating an ex friend its just so?? 💀 also as a Swede i can confirm Ghost is still very much "a Linköping band". the vibes are still very much there. these guys can go cry abt it honestly
priest have written about way more than just their experience with ghost, and not all their songs themed around being mistreated by people are for sure about tobias, people get screwed over by many different people several times in their lives. i don't think it's sad behaviour to write a bunch of songs about tobias either, because if something so big and meaningful in my life broke down in such a nasty way i would probably have a lot to say about it, regardless of how much myself or the opposing side was in the right or wrong. i noticed ghost fans tend to think everything priest does is to spite ghost, but it probably just looks that way when you're not listening deeply in their catalogue and are only looking at it through the lens of the drama. they are so much more than that, i think people who are biased against priest by default will only ever see what they choose. i'm not even gonna force people to change their minds about the conduct of the guys behind priest, it looks like the legal stuff and everything surrounding it was a whole mess - if you're more inclined to support tobias that makes sense, especially if you prefer his artistic visions over priest's. i admittedly never listened to ghost and only know their really famous songs, but have loved priest for quite a while and only very recently realised they weren't just former members but a lot of craziness went down. so i don't have any attachment to ghost but a lot with priest, and this is how it looks from my point of view. friendship fallouts are almost exclusively messy without a clear good versus evil and foul play from both sides, i think this situation is no different.
Tobias skull paint in repugnant reminds me of Papa Nihil's and Papa III skull paint...hmmm....
you should see the photo of him with papa1 paint on, it was when he was putting together everything for ghost, i think it's hard to find bc it was only released bc of the lawsuit.

Lol I had no idea that the members who sued not only formed a band (which is within their right) but they also have the audacity to use stuff similar to Ghost's image like the masks and trash their more recent music.
Anyway, they will probably fade into obscurity, being angry at Tobias is probably their only talent.
Sadly yes, while I give them the benefit of doubt when they say they actually formed in 2010, I doubt it bc theres nothing anywhere prior to the lawsuit. Like I said in the video, if they stuck to making music and let ghost go they'd have a great chance of going long term, but with the first vocalist leaving and them still going on about tobias, sadly it wont happen.
I'm not entirely caught up on all of this considering I'm a new listener to most of the bands featured in this video, but isn't Tobias Forge a dickhead? I mean, if so; wouldn't that give Priest the right to make a few jabs at Ghost?
@@backallycrafts not enough of one to do all this, I left out the rape drawing the ex ghouls shared and them saying Tobias's dead brother (who he loved dearly and got him into metal) would be ashamed of him.
@@backallycrafts What did Tobi do then? Because the former ghouls brought up his dead brother to hurt him, they sent him explicit fanfiction (which most fanfiction writers will tell you isn't okay) and they still badmouth him esp to his friends.
I spoke to a band member who met Tobi and he had nothing but good to say about him, how he was polite and rly down to earth and just a great guy to hang with and acted like crew by saying "I'm with ghost" which is a crew thing to say and not a band member thing to say; you can doubt what Matt said and you can even doubt that I had this convo but tbh, I really don't care when you're on here also badmouthing Tobi.
@@novatalking I'm not badmouthing Tobias, I was just asking what the general consensus was as far as to why Priest felt the need to basically make an album dedicated to the hatred of Ghost or Tobias specifically. I really don't care at this point what the story behind all of it is. Both Ghost and Preist make good music and both fanbases seem equally cringe at times. Ghost fans seem to be mindless fangirls while Priest fans are mostly butthurt edgelords.

Great video! I am quite a fan of Priest's New Flesh and Obey, but Cyberhead was genuinely not very good. There were a few decent tracks, but it was really just eh. Their new singles haven't been too bad. I wish they weren't so petty about the whole thing.
I miss the old singer, and yeah, now that Linton sings, the band has gone back to fully being petter about ghost.

If you listen to a live version of year zero from 2016 and 2019 there is a huge difference, bcs ghost with the new ghouls is so different to ghost with the "original" ghouls. I still love ghost and all their new songs, but without omega, and the other real ghouls it will never be how it used to be...

Also the direction is most likely what impacted him leaving and MCC was going to be conflicting with Ghost. Same way Stone Sour did to Slipknot and Corey removed Root for the same reasons. Focus on the main project. But I think Martin would prefer to have something thats 100% his and not 33% his, 33% Tobias and 33% label/ writers. Business always kills the art. Sad truth. But now we have 2 great bands instead of one.

@@doomerzoomer i can guarantee you that is wrong, i had no idea about any of priest's drama with ghost until like last week and i've been a fan and attending their shows for a year, no one around me seemed to know or mention it either? all i knew before is that they were something to do with ghost and i've never listened to ghost, can only name their 2 mainstream songs lol. it's a completely different genre of music for a different audience, and the audience is always really genuinely supportive and praising of them even when they've never heard them before. i suppose if you're in an echo chamber you think the same one opinion you see online is fact
congrats on not following their social media, they’ve attacked ghost’s merch illustrator bc she put alchemy symbols on a design, linton did a vinyl video on Instagram and held up meliora and was grossed out, ghost has been doing a “Jesus is coming” ad campaign and priest had to say “jesus is here” for a song release. Linton always runs to talk about ghosts new music is shit and he regrets playing in ghost bc music bad now. Not to mention they seemed to have run out their original singer and it was so bad he’s never spoken on what happened. Not to mention most articles about them mention they’re the ex members of ghost. They may have a following themselves, but they still lean on Tobias and ghost.
@just another sad zoomer there's no way of knowing what any of that stuff means if you don't know about the ghost connection though, like there's some issues that clearly haven't been worked through but I dont follow ghost so it was all lost on me & it doesn't make a difference personally. + Tom just wanted to pursue different projects like 99% sure there's nothing else to it, his post announcing his departure from priest was very positive towards them, and these days it's definitely more the press leaning on their connection with ghost for engagement on their articles and videos and not priest themselves. it seems they do still make references to that stuff on social media just to bait people sometimes but otherwise they've moved swiftly on

Every song I’ve heard from Priest felt like darkwave at its most derivative. The melodies are mindlessly simple (even for darkwave standards) and the singer just sounds like he’s doing a bad impression of Tobias.
If ghost are so great why is one man stealing everything from other musicians so much ? Every big hit was written by others. That guy who is signing for them can't play any song can't remember or plainly doesn't know. Ghosts birth and look wasn't even his it was another's that he joined.
1. What has he stolen from other musicians?
2. Tobias co-writes all the music
3. Tobias records most of the instuments during recording (just not drums) the only reason why he can't just pick up an instrument and perfectly play any song is because he hasn't had time to practise playing them since he's the singer. And even then as seen in his loudwire interviews he remembers pretty damn quick.
4. Ghost was created by Tobias, he was given the "papa emeritus" name by a friend but he made the band, the concept, the lore. This has been legally proven and is obvious by the photos provided by Tobias during the lawsuit that showed the creation of the logo and the papa 1 mask.

2. Does he really? I can't believe that when listening to many albums that have clear distinctive relations to ghost songs. Also co writing is alot different to actually writing. Putting arrangement in one song could be seen as co writing.
3. Never said he didn't but I do know he leans on alot of others to help write all the music. Did ozzy write all his own lyrics? No. Bill ward did alot.
4. If you believe that that's your own choice. I tend believe something else. Based on actions and words.
I am replying out of respect and enjoying the discussion. I just choose a different belief and don't see a "genius" or great musician in that guy from beginning to now.
