Give thanks for the informative content. Wasnt too keen on Engineers at first, then I purchased a pair of Red Wings (their Chelsea/Engineers) for cheap cheap ($40 on eB*y) and gave it a try... now I can see why some Gentlemen love them so.
Taking small steps to find the right one for me... your videos are helping me narrow it down... Thank you.
They do a great job at making a slim profile last look very comfortable
They really do!
Fantastic looking boot. I love the "cuban heel" look. Very good bang for the buck.
Thanks! It’s technically a “woodsman” or “logger” heel. But yeah, they do some gorgeous work. They’ve since changed their name to Bristleblack I hear.
Awesome boots. Benzein is my go to for laceless boots, really really clean work. Gonna order a pair of “The Stride” when they start taking orders again
Good choice! And the Stride looks KILLER!
Very cool Dave, love the rundown on these. My January order can't come fast enough! Looking forward to a little sleeker fit than my Nomads.
I cant believe you will let them go! I fin them the best looking boots of your. But i understand in the same time. You know your self and what works for you
I totally know what you mean! Haha 😆 They are such a stunner pair. But yeah, just wasn’t my vibe…wanted to pass them to someone who could vibe with them well and use them well.
@@thevintagefuture6567 through what channel do you sell stuff like this? Im not shure what is the best place to look for this kind of stuff second hand
@@brunonjezic6208 I usually sell on the Stitchdown Premium Discord or just post on Instagram. Some people sell on the GYW subreddit, which actually works pretty well, but I don’t go on there much anymore.
@@thevintagefuture6567 will chek it out. Thank you
Great video, as always, Dave!
I need a pair badly.
I'm getting me 2 pairs a brown pair and a black pair.
Brand new to your channel and I've been binging all your content! Any chance you'll pick up an MTO from Santalum for a review?
Glad you enjoy the content! Thanks for saying ‘hi’! Unfortunately, I don’t have plans to try Santalum right now - they sound killer though
ohhhhh I love these things!!!!!
Insane, right?!
hi my friend
ya i’m really impressed with your benzein boots they’re all nice. could you please tell me what clicking is???
thanks for sharing, Kevin
Hey! No problem 👍🏽 Clicking is leather selection. It’s called “clicking” because back in the day when they cut the leather by hand, the knives would make a clicking sound on the table top as they sliced through the hide. The leather workers choose which sections of the hide will go into the boots; sometimes they click well, and other times they choose ugly or irregular or non-matching sections of the hide.
wow thanks friend i just learned what
clicking is. ya thanks again i watch your
video s they R very cool & informative
Kevin
Thanks! Glad you like them!
Do you know if they do wide(EEE width) and mixed sizes(my right foot is half size larger than my left)? Do they do safety toes?
I've been looking for a quality black engineer boot since Chippewa dropped theirs(why they did, I have no idea, they invented the design), and this is looking like the best option..
Hmmmm I’m not sure. Sorry about that. But I know if you reach out, Adi at Benzein could answer your question.
Hi Dave would you mind sharing exactly how much did you pay for them and how long did you have to wait for them?
The price and wait is always fluctuating, but I think you can expect to pay about $600 for these and wait about 12 weeks. Of course they would be less if they’re not Shinki, which is a premium leather option.
I recently received a pair of these (actual boots: instagram.com/p/Ch4gUalvnCl/?)... it took almost a half year, was $640 shipped.
I must have old benzeins because mine have a horrible last for a boot and not the greatest finishing.
Yeah, they used to be super wonky…this update is within the last few months.
@@thevintagefuture6567 just my luck 🍀
@@StolenAlias what’s funny is, Benzein is currently on an order hold for undisclosed reasons. I think maybe their shop lease has issues or something, really not sure. Bad timing, right as they are getting more engineer momentum. Hope they’re able to get back on their feet 🙏🏽
𝓅𝓇𝑜𝓂𝑜𝓈𝓂 🙌
I'm not into engineer boots, but these are killer. I can't believe you're moving them on.
It was hard to let them go, but they just didn’t make sense in my wardrobe 😄
@Damon Martinez I like them for style 😂 But, yeah probably looks funny for people who actually ride motorcycles…It’s like cowboy boots. They started as a boot for people who ride horses, but now they’re legitimately something 90% of people wear just for style.
@@thevintagefuture6567 I'm sure you know this, but it's worth pointing out they weren't even designed for motorcycles, but for railway engineers.
I was looking really hard at these a few months ago. Almost ordered some, but my foot is so low volume all slip ons are tough. I love the leather and finishing though. The figuring on the Shinki is amazing. I ended up ordering a made to measure pair of wesco Mr Lou’s. Only most of a year left to wait. ⏱
Nice! Mr Lou are so cool. That’s probably what I should have gotten, just plain ole brown CXL. Then I’d probably not be selling 😂 I’ve had black, brown, and Essex Mr Lou’s that didn’t fit, so it’s smart that you ordered the MTM pair!
@@thevintagefuture6567 I went with plan ole brown CXL 😄. Yeah, sent my measurements to Baker’s they said they wouldn’t fit. Maybe with an insert, but they wouldn’t guarantee it. I’m a little worried about the QC lately with Wesco, but if they fit, I’m not going to worry about it. I did get different buckles and brown edge dressing, so couple small changes from the original Mr Lou. The 9-11 month wait is what really hurts though.
@@nathancreel8547 yeah the wait 😫😂 But yeah, the CXL is staple, and for a Wesco, I’m beginning to like the wonky stitching as part of the vibe as long as it’s not crazy bad
@@thevintagefuture6567 I feel the same about my White’s stitching.
