Such an interesting idea actually to put hot glue on a canvas for texture :D

Fun Fact: we have a word in german for making things worse while trying to fix them, verschlimmbessern - to worsebetter. It is one of my favourite words (and i am really good in it) ;)

It is in the duden, it says that it is not used often. Maybe it is an regional (I am from the north) or an age thing (30+). I've grown up with it or it was slang in my youth(?) ;)

I remember watching the hot glue art when the video was new. It was cool then & is still pretty cool. I do know what u mean about old feelings u didn't expect. And being reminded of not such a great time. Great job fixing them both. TYFS

Really enjoyed watching you work in the second painting. I like how it turned out, but, I can totally appreciate that you struggled emotionally. I have a watercolour portrait I made of my Nana last year which I I really am not a fan of because of the emotions & circumstances surrounding when it was made, but I’m not going to get rid of it because it captures a moment in my life. (And because a friend got it professionally framed as a gift for me)
I have a suggestion make a painting on glass

What a great idea to spruce up work you have fallen out of love with. I loved the beach scene with those fresh colours. I can relate with having feeling and memories attached to work (I can also relate with spilling paint water everywhere too 😖) TFS ❤️
I love how the painting turned out. It is so much brighter and colorful. 😍💕 Although I thought how it looked before was fine to I just like this version better.

I liked the way the beach painting was before; it wasn’t until I saw the after that I realized how yellow the beach was! 😱 I ended up liking the after, well...after! 🤣

Mira: What were doing?
Me: I am taking a break from editing my original novel. Oddly enough, you 'fixing up' old paintings really fits the theme of my editing because I am also fixing it up. I started writing this novel five - FIVE - years ago and my writing style has really changed and improved since then. With my editing, I have gone back to the beginning, when my writing was different, and am trying to make it more cohesive with my present style (and generally just better). It's hard to edit because it's boring (since I have written all of this before and know it off by heart) but just as difficult as writing is! I am getting there, though. Slowly and steadily.
Thank you for the pick me up! I really enjoyed watching this in my break! I think I will watch one more of your videos and then get back to work.

I’m actually working on an order I had while watching. Out of the blue in quarantine I decided to try and see if I could possibly sell some art and I was wayyyyyy surprised by how many people actually wanted stuff. The main thing people have wanted is a butterfly piece I made with posca pens on wood. I ordered my poscas originally because I saw them on your channel. (Now I have almost every possible color of posca)

i made many paintings where i blended to much or isn't blend enough but I was able to fix them to something better even by adding a little bit of gold or silver oil markers

I was yelling at the tv (like a crazy 😜 person) telling you to leave the water that beautiful blue and keep it serene & not add the darker blue & make the waves again... I could totally visualize the pic as a beautiful beach the second you added that umbrella. 🤣 Loved the revamped hot glue pic. Thanks for the videos. I get so happy when I see you have uploaded 😁

I've stopped washing my pallet. It doesn't hurt anything. I have, though, started making sure I wash my brushes right away so they don't get gross!!

Hi I'm Amelia in the UK. Not got an art degree...yet. Just doing a bit of creating while I find it's the right time to do one. I don't wash palettes (I just use a piece of cardboard for paints and then throw it away when it's time to go).

You asked what we were doing while this video was on. Well it is 9pm here in the UK. And I am in bed, looking out the window staring at the golden, pinkish colour the sky on the horizon, it's gorgeous!

I didn’t do art during but practiced on Procreate right before and will work on my handmade watercolor paints after!
I enjoy watching your videos, but I do clean up after I finish a painting. I have also “graduated” to a larger 3 sectioned water rinse container/cup! I have spilled my share of paint containers, oil or solvent “cups” are the WORST! I have moved to water soluble paints. And soft pastels that clean up with just water and a cloth! I know that some dislike the dust but that is easy to resolve and I am getting better with this new to me medium! I have also added some color to an all white artwork, you did a fabulous job with your painting! Please take care and be safe! I look forward to watching your next video.

Heyy! Just an idea, change you water cup! I use I square plastic container that some pretzels came in! Its harder to knock over and its recycled!!

I really like the beach painting
I’m also surprised as to how you just go over an old painting...
I wouldn’t have the confidence for that, as I would probably ruin something or completely go over it.
If I were to do that, I’d have to do thumbnail sketches to test my composition and multiple mock-ups to see what direction I’d go in.
Usually, I start a new one so I can preserve the original and create something that is more “me” today,
using the new knowledge I’ve gained to improve on my pieces and change them to make them closer to my ideal.
