Troy don't know if it's the angle or you switched something up, but the serve is looking good! Great review guys, can't say I've been more excited for a racquet in a long time. Also curious to how champions choice would perform in this racquet?
I been feeling gradually looser and getting some of that pop back on my serve. Thanks for noticing! Our tester Munish has his RF 01 Pro strung with Champion's Choice, so we can follow up with thoughts as we get more time with that string setup. Troy, TW
Feel like I need weight in handle. The balance bothers me. The weight bothered me bec of distribution. If it doesn’t sell on eBay I may try a blend but this poly is so nice I don’t wanna cut it out . I have a great slice and I can’t slice with it
3yrs ago, I tried to merge the pro's of RF97 or Blade 18x20, so I tweaked two Amplifeel Blades with 15g of lead tape underneath the grip at the bottom tip (to get the 31cm BP), then 5g more at 3/9 to emulate PWS, a leather tape,... and a red-coloured Wilson cap. That gave me the Blade maneuvrability, whippy dynamics, but with some ProStaff stability, head-light feeling, and touch. Would you say this RF01 Pro is exactly the same experiment, only provided by Roger and Wilson instead of a tennis desperado?
If you play well with it, why not? But even Federer himself changed to a 97 sq in racquet when he struggled to deal with Rafa´s spin. That´s modern tennis for you.
I think the RF 01 is more of a playable spec for most of us testers. Michelle obviously likes the weight and spec of the Pro, and Munish also likes that Pro spec. For me, I like the weight and maneuverability of the Pro but I think I am going to try and weight up the 01, because I like the lower flex rating. But I would say just about all the other testers would go with the RF 01, because it's closer their preferred spec, a little less stiff, and can be doctored up pretty easily, whether that is a bit of weight in the hoop or just a leather grip. Troy, TW
To me, it is definitely "more approachable" than the RF97! And with that 331 swingweight and lighter under 12 ounce strung weight I would say it falls in line with other racquets in that weight class! It never felt too demanding or like it was behind the ball (in my opinion!)! Michelle, TW
Comparison to Shift Pro 99? Trying to see where RF01 fits on the Wilson spectrum. I am PS97 player. Trying Shift Pro for easier power/spin but it’s launchier for flat ball hitter.
Since you weight yours up to the weight of the RF 01 Pro, is that why you call it the Prince "ATP" Tour 98? Just kidding I think it was a typo? haha. But I would say that the Prince 98 feels a bit more plush and comfortable. I also for some reason prefer the Tour 98 from the baseline, a little bit easier power and consistent level of spin. The RF01 Pro feels super solid and stable up at the net (not that the Tour 98 doesn't). However, I loved the firmer crisper pop of the RF01 Pro at net, and thought it was great on slice. Spin was pretty good with RF01 Pro, however sometimes I struggles a bit with the launch angle, because the string pattern is tight in the middle and more open around the perimeter; so sometimes I find the trajectory to be slightly inconsistent with patterns like that. Troy, TW
One question: how does the handle shape feel compared to RF97A's? I have always found all the ProStaff pallet shape just perfect to me, but for whatever reason Wilson only deploys it on this product line. The Blade handle, for instance, is very good, but still definitely not the same. Does RF01 Pro share the same handle pallet of RF97A?
How do you compare this with a Prostaff V13 315. I am considering to switch however I am worried to lose feel and control. I have my prostaffs with leather grip and I string them at 56lbs with RPM rough. What do you think? RF pro or Prostaff V14?
Yes, you will find a bit more control and feel with the Pro Staff. The RF 01 Pro is a bit thicker frame, and not the typical box shape of the Pro Staff, so it packs a little more power. Troy, TW
Yes, a bit more help in terms of power. Some find added spin as well, but I would say it is fairly comparable to the the Pro Staff 97 for spin. Troy, TW
Would like to ask Michelle which she prefers between RF 01 Pro and PS Six One 95 v14. My play style is similar to her and this racket is not available for demo in Thailand at the moment. Ps. I've got the PS Six One 95 V14 and love it but this one for me from the spec it looks like a heavier Blade 98.
Oh man! Great question! I think I would need to hit them side by side! I really liked this Six One 95! But not sure I should go DOWN in headsize...but really enjoyed the Six One 95! I will hit them side by side and try and report back! Michelle, TW
@@tenniswarehouse Waiting to hear more on this as well as I’m the same. I think the ps six one 95 is probably the best feeling racket I’ve had for my game (attacking; take the ball early and one handed backhand). Love it. But I’m not a college player anymore. I’m 45 and can’t help but wonder if a little extra help from the racket would be better. I demoed both the rf 01 and pro. Loved the pro! nervous about the weight feeling too much for me in the long run. But loved everything about it. The demo for the 01 felt like the strings were old and needed to be restrung so it was hard to gauge. Went in thinking I would go with Troy’s customizing of the 01 but I so preferred the Pro that I wasn’t sure. Sorry if this is confusing. Reflects my state of mind on this 😊. Look forward to your verdict on 01 Pro vs ps six one 95 v14. Keep up the great work. Don
I would say a bit more of a dampened or muted feel with the Shift 300, and also slightly more power. The RF01 Pro feels a bit more crisp, a bit more feedback, and I feel like it has a bit more control/precision. Troy, TW

@tenniswarehouse - I use the KBlade 98 18X20 as my main racket along with the Blade CV 18X20 as the back up. In terms of weight and the String Pattern (16X19) would I be able to adjust to the RF 01 Pro? Thanks!
I would say it swings with a good amount of heft, so yes probably in that 4.5 range and above. I think for players below that level they would likely be better off with the RF 01. I am actually preferring the RF 01 more so at the moment, and I added some weight to it (video coming stay tuned). But I have a slight preference because of the lower stiffness than the Pro version, and the fact that I like to play full poly (whereas Roger plays Champion's Choice). So I think the RF 01 is a bit more of a versatile option, however the Pro is pretty stable in stock form and a decent amount of plow, but a little stiff for my taste. Troy, TW
@@tenniswarehouse Troy, I have been using champion’s choice for many years at gut mains 55, poly crosses 52… but many say i should lower the tension…. what tension would you recommend for the RF 01, using gut mains and poly crosses??
Michelle, as a fellow rf user, what do you think can be done to get back that signature plowthrough the rf97 is known for but still benefit from the new rf01 design? Is it due to the lack of pws or do you think adding lead tape to 3 and 9 to try and get some of that plowthrough back? Maybe even just adding weight to the handle?
I haven't had a chance to play with customizing yet! It's tough, and I don't think it made the cut in the vid, but one of my fave RF's has a swingweight of 333 and it is just awesome and not too tough to swing; the hitters we used during this playtest were right at 331-333...so I thought the plow and hitting experience would be near identical. I've been trying to explain it but I don't know if it makes total sense: when I hit with the RF97, when the racquet collides with the ball, the racquet finishes the job for me; I don't have to whip through the finish, the racquet just literally plows through; with this RF 01 Pro, I felt like I tried "mashing" through the ball the same way I would with the RF, but was noting I felt like I had to finish my shot more intentionally (the racquet didn't win the collision vs the ball the same way with the RF). I tried SO many string set ups to see if I could get dialed in that way. I will need to play around with some weight next...stay tuned! And hopefully that makes some sort of sense :) Michelle, TW
Blade Pro feels more plush and dampened. It also has more control, and the balance feels quite a bit different; it has closer to even on the balance and the swingweight feels more significant. This RF 01 Pro is a quite a bit more firm and crisp feeling. A more headlight feel when swinging it, and the stiffness and thicker beam gives some added pop. Troy, TW
Be honest now, we all just clicked on this video to see if Michelle is going to switch 🤣

@tenniswarehouse - I use the KBlade 98 18X20 as my main racket along with the Blade CV 18X20 as the back up. In terms of weight and the String Pattern (16X19) would I be able to adjust to the RF 01 Pro? Thanks!
TW: Is this racquet strictly for advanced players 4.5 and above? Is it easy to swing despite weight? How does it compare to the Speed Pro? Thanks..🎾
It's a modified Head Prestige Pro!
Weight at 12 would be best for more plow but keeping the manouvrebility, or could try a small amount at 3 and 9 to strike a good balance
And hopefully that makes some sort of sense :)

Just buy the prestige tour. Great racket
Hi! How is RF01 Pro racquet compared to Pro Staff X and Pro Staff 100 V14?
How does it compare to the Blade Pro?
Blade Pro feels more plush and dampened. It also has more control, and the balance feels quite a bit different; it has closer to even on the balance and the swingweight feels more significant. This RF 01 Pro is a quite a bit more firm and crisp feeling. A more headlight feel when swinging it, and the stiffness and thicker beam gives some added pop. Troy, TW
