I think the chickens had a great conversation. The two were telling the new ones that they couldn’t have found a better home!! Your woodworking is truly beautiful. Thank you for another tranquil episode. xx
Another wonderful, profoundly spiritual hour with an incredible Renaissance Man teaching us without a word of dialogue what it means to truly live in the moment, which is what we, the devoted flock of Martijnheads, do effortlessly for some reason when we have our precious Sundays with Martijn. The rest of the week it's a struggle but with him, we barely breathe so as not to miss a single second. Thank you Martijn. ❤

I just want to tell you how much these videos mean to me right now. I'm going through an incredibly stressful time in my life and these bring to back to a place and time in my life when things were beautiful and care free. Watching from the USA but wishing I was at home in Arezzo.

I absolutely adore the music of Judah Earl. Thank you for introducing his music to me. I had to go to Italian alps to find this composer who lives in Kansas City, Missouri-my home town. I’m now located in Columbia, Missouri a mere 2 hours East of KC.
I have just loved watching how your original 2 hens became so attached to you and follow you around. I think roosters normally protect the hens, or think they do.. I think your original hens thought you were their protector... I love how attached they become. Anyway I hope they settle down and become one big happy family.... Your cabin looks spectacular, I marvel every week from when you started in the very beginning how you have progressed... well done....
How far you have come! I remember watching you and some volunteers breaking your backs to get the stones out of the downstairs room and lower the levels and all the water coming in. Not to mention sorting the roof with all those heavy, massive stones! It seemed an impossible task. And now you have a beautiful home with everything you need to be comfortable and happy. Congrats. Oh and welcome to the new noisy chickens. I'm sure they'll soon settle in and learn to love each other.

If this had been reality he would be in some very real trouble and would quite possibly have received a sound beating.
Happy Sunday Everyone 😊 Another beautiful gift from Martijns to us all has arrived .... 25 mins 8000 views already! We love you🌏🌎🌍 Martijn✨️Thankyou 🙂🕊💖🙏

And watching your beautiful video closes my eyes... But I think, how beautiful it is, that people from different backgrounds meet and love each other. There is still hope.
I wish I had an 8 hour rain sleep montage of your mountain escape. Martijns Nature strolls remind me of the old Country Western tale where early on Sunday Morning all of the town folk dressed in their Sunday best would file into the old Church building at the end of the dusty main road. Meanwhile, the Sheriff(Martijn) would head out in the opposite direction to the hills above the rustic town, and once he reached the top of the hill overlooking the valley he quietly whispers "Hello God".

The wainscot looked amazing in the bedroom. Although, I would have loved to have seen it left two tone, with the stained recessed panels and natural crosses. It added more dimension. Awesome job though!
When my weekend winds down, I'm at my happiest cause it's time to watch and enjoy what Martijn is doing. Warm Sunday afternoon greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦
The thing I like about you is the amount of detailing you do with every project. You somehow turn a hard stone building into a warm, cozy environment. I really love that. You have such a beautiful home.
Good evening from Downeast Maine, USA. This episode was particularly sweet, Martijn, quietly working, hiking & cooking, plus taking tender care of the chickens. It's so fun watching you enjoy your chickens, smiling at their loud rumblings as they get to know each other. Did anyone else have a strange, bittersweet moment when Martijn said next week the cabin would be finished?! What a tremendous accomplishment.
If you put about 5 or 6 inches of straw in the chicken coop it will stop the smell this summer and the straw keeps the ground moist for bugs the chicks can scratch for. Always a great job on the house. 👍
Wow Martijn, Looking Great, Enjoy your Coffee 👍🏼 Everything is becoming So Much Beautiful and completely fresh, great to hear the Cow bells, So Peaceful, No Violence, Protests, it is a beautiful experience to watch each week now since the second video clip, this makes my Week 👏🏽👏🏽

Martijn, I love your videos, have watched from the very beginning and felt joy and despair with you. My worry is the stair well and there's a risk of you or a visitor stepping back and falling 😥 Please make a railing and ease my anxiety for you and your family/friends ❤
This episode reminded me of why you always, always, always build your workshed first before the house. You need an effective workspace. Despite this Martijn overcomes the hurdles.

From the day you introduced the place you just had bought to first ready cabin... through the tent collapsed under snow and half outdoor cooking and showering... through sorrow and joy...what a journey. I am glad to be "along" this journey with other people who likes to "visit" Italian Alps weekly. To your readymade cabin.🎉
Wonderful Sunday morning with Martin so sorry the weather has been so wet,yet on a positive note your chickens have the most beautiful flowers growing around there home lily of the valley and the perfume is so sweet indeed may the three new chickens settle in giving time indeed the bedroom looks so good well done on finishing that you have made a very stylish home indeed have a good week
Those rains may be a bit of a hassle, but here the forests are already on fire, threatening people, towns, and a city. Be glad those rains allow all the living beings to remain safe. New chickens don't agree with everything the others do, to be expected. The woodwork is very well crafted. Congratulations on the finishing of the bedroom the way you want it. Thank you for the images. They're taken from unique perspectives.
I'm sorry to hear about the fires. May I ask where you are? Last summer we had thick smoke here in North Carolina from fires in Canada. Let's hope for regular rains big enough to put all the wildfires completely out, no matter where they are.
Lots of work this week but everything is looking so lovely!! Your attention to the detail of routing and covering the screw holes makes all the difference! Can you believe your home is almost finished?! Wow! Those Lily of the Valley have a beautiful fragrance.and you have so many.. Those sweet ladies do not want to share their home right now - they will eventually. I just love where you chose to live - it's so uplifting to see the mountains every day. Thank you Martijn for another delightful video.. Next week...
The chickens are very happy they will follow you around like children I just love it. I appreciate your show. I watch it every Sunday thank you so much.
Finished Sunday lunch, sat down with a coffee, to watch Martijn work his magic with his carpentry, then to my delight he pulled chickens out of the box❤ wonderful.
I watch this video last Sunday but I was sidetracked by “life” and forgot that I didn’t send a text. I also watch number 4 of your bicycle adventures. Pretty impressive but then I was not surprised. Not many people have the fortitude and endurance to attempt such a trip. I am sure you get tied of the same comments about you videography of the surrounding landscape but I never get tried of seeing them. The fog through the trees, the textures of land, the rain and clouds the colors, are so beautiful. I was so glad you added more chickens. Very clever to separate them for a while. Fun watching them interact with one another. I will see you tomorrow. THANKS for taking us along on this incredible journey. Ann from VA. USA 🇺🇸
The craftsmanship is impeccable and the labour of love that Martjin puts into creating his wood panelling by hand with the help of a few tools and everything else, reminds me of watching my dad when I was younger creating by hand a wooden chess table, inlaying the two different shades of wood. It was perfect just like Martjin's work. True craftsmen are a dying breed.
Still so magical ❤ Just came back yesterday from Ticino, loved the calm rainy days at the lake. Not so many visitors yet and especially Isola Bella is so enchanting!
OMG!!! Is it just me? I felt like a kid on Christmas morning when I saw the box in the back of the car. My eyes and mouth were wide open😮 What is wrong with me? Lol, I love your videos 🤗
Did I hear one of Bach's Brandenburgs as you were working on the paneling? My favorite music in all the world! Good music for being inside on a rainy day. It seems it must be raining all over the world - we haven't seen the sun here in North Carolina in over a week. Does anyone know whether this is related to the Aurora Borealis? The new members of the flock have no idea yet that they've landed in poultry heaven. They'll all get into it soon. The paneling is looking truly gorgeous. Every surface, every space in the cabin has been restored by you. That must feel amazingly satisfying. Well done, Martijn!
I never tire of the drone shots. Those stone houses, perched on the edge of cliffs, and looking like they have grown from the earth and rocks themselves ... The chooks make me laugh. I am not sure about having a rooster, I understand they can be more trouble than they are worth. It may need careful management. The sound of the river, the rain, a bit too constant it seems (climate change in action!). Thanks so much, take care - and of the chooks too 🙂 Greetings from NZ. ♥

I Loved the journey of you finally completing your home. I can't wait for you to start on the other building. I'm looking forward to another 2&1/2 to 3 years of watching you restore the other house. I'm glad you got a few more chickens also and a rooster.
As always, another excellent video. The interaction of the chickens is quite interesting. They are very territorial. I hope it won't take long for them to adapt to each other. It's exciting to know that the first cabin will finally be ready next week. We need to arrange to open a bottle of champagne to celebrate. Have a great week, Martjin!
The precision and detail of your woodwork is impressive; the chooks remind me of the ones who gave me plenty of eggs and friendship in my teens ... the scenery absolutely awesome. We are having a very wet autumn here in Australia too.
i'm not sure if you already have this but i would buy one fire extinguisher for each cabin. i know they don't look pretty but i'm sure you would find a small space in a cupboard or somewhere where you can hide them. i'm just thinking about it because there are a lot of wooden materials in the cabins and if a fire broke out and you weren't prepared it could destroy a lot which would be really sad. so it's just a recommendation or maybe something worth thinking about :)
Introducing the two new hens and rooster were pretty funny. Can't wait to see what comes next...will the rooster rule or the hens just let him think he rules? I hope they will all be friends and The whole flock will be following you around.

Thank you for bringing this tranquility and peace to me.I really enjoy watching your videos, they’re really beautiful
I appreciate that I've been watching your channel for so long that "No breakfast outside" made me laugh out loud:)
Me too - sometimes the damp is just too much discomfort - nah back into cozy !
He remined me of the white chicken seeing the snow outside a while ago and instanly decited to go back inside the chicken coop 😂
USA 🇺🇸
Good day Martijn, having watched from the start, super congratulations on completing the first cabin. Well done!
Hello from Lago Maggiore Martin my my we've had a lot of rain this May. Glad to see you are extending your chicken family.
Still so magical ❤ Just came back yesterday from Ticino, loved the calm rainy days at the lake. Not so many visitors yet and especially Isola Bella is so enchanting!
This is huge! How exciting that the first cabin will be finished. I can't wait to see it all done with furniture and decor
Sometimes watching the drone gives me the same feeling I got when I use to skydive. Soaring in the air like a bird.
Love how there are views from every part of your property - underrated aspect of the mountains
You’re a good chicken dad ❤
OMG!!! Is it just me? I felt like a kid on Christmas morning when I saw the box in the back of the car. My eyes and mouth were wide open😮 What is wrong with me? Lol, I love your videos 🤗
Another Sunday, another treat :)
Cada día es una maravillosa misión estoy facinada con tus detalles en todo casa comida y las gallinitas felices
Such a high standard of workmanship. Beautiful.
I’ve been binge watching all episodes last week 🩷 finally caught up! Groetjes 😘
Amazing to be able to say that the cabin is complete after watching 113 episodes of your hard work on it.
🥰 From the bottom of my heart from Germany, all the best for you and also for your chickens. May they be well protected at all times. 🐓 💫👍
direct emitting sources of light (ie. bare bulbs should be avoided), they tend to cause a blinding effect when close to the eye .. and thnx for the blog and thumbs up for the attention to quality & detail
And Martijn said, “ I think it could be quite beautiful “. And it is.
Bravo on the bath and bed wood working.
I Loved the journey of you finally completing your home. I can't wait for you to start on the other building. I'm looking forward to another 2&1/2 to 3 years of watching you restore the other house. I'm glad you got a few more chickens also and a rooster.
I really like when you have visits with Johannes in your videos!🥰
As always, another excellent video.
The interaction of the chickens is quite interesting. They are very territorial. I hope it won't take long for them to adapt to each other.
It's exciting to know that the first cabin will finally be ready next week.
We need to arrange to open a bottle of champagne to celebrate.
Have a great week, Martjin!
The exquisite beauty of a simple life...
The precision and detail of your woodwork is impressive; the chooks remind me of the ones who gave me plenty of eggs and friendship in my teens ... the scenery absolutely awesome. We are having a very wet autumn here in Australia too.
No more sleeping in in the mornings now that you have a 🐓
That occurred to me too lol!
t
he is probably up before the rooster
The cowbells are probably louded than the rooster 😂
i'm not sure if you already have this but i would buy one fire extinguisher for each cabin. i know they don't look pretty but i'm sure you would find a small space in a cupboard or somewhere where you can hide them. i'm just thinking about it because there are a lot of wooden materials in the cabins and if a fire broke out and you weren't prepared it could destroy a lot which would be really sad. so it's just a recommendation or maybe something worth thinking about :)
So looking forward to watching another video of Martijn’s life on the mountain. 🙏👏👍Cheers Noeline. 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Introducing the two new hens and rooster were pretty funny. Can't wait to see what comes next...will the rooster rule or the hens just let him think he rules? I hope they will all be friends and
The whole flock will be following you around.
I liked - no breakfast outside - Martijn does have a sense of humor!
WOW, I’ve been following you for years it’s so hard to comprehend how steep your land is but the view at 0:22 seconds really gave a good perspective. I’m old and if I had it to do over, I’d chose a path similar to yours. Much respect for all that you do. 👍🏻
