Enjoyed your video and hope you enjoyed San Cataldo. My grandparents are also from San Cataldo. I have been there 3 times. First time was 30 years ago. Still have some extended family living there…..and a lot of family living in Milan now (originally from San Cataldo).
What a beautiful city. That’s so cool that you family is also from there! My other grandparents are from Milan as well! Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you can to help our little channel. Cheers, Marlene

Hi ! Hope you attained Italian citizenship by now - I’m just embarking on that same journey. My great grandfather was born in San Cataldo; my great grandmother in Catania. Nice coincidence. Also, nice videos! Take care.
Thanks so much for the compliment! Sotelo is a great place to visit to see where your grandparents were from. I don’t have citizenship, but I should have my residency next month. It was an easier route and quicker to get me to stay in the EU longer than three months. I’m not sure if I qualify for citizenship thanks so much for watching, please subscribe to our channel, cheers, Marlene
Grazie ancora!!
My family is from San Cataldo originally. I have cousins still there, some who moved north (most still there). Are you from Northeastern PA, Detroit, MI, or Rochester, NY? There area a bunch of enclaves full of sancataldese.
Oh how interesting! My dad was born in Berwick Pennsylvania, that’s where the family went to first when they left Sicily, then they later moved to upstate New York, where I was born. And yes, some of my aunts and uncles have relatives in Rochester as well. A ton of them are Giardino‘s I am a Grifasi. Thanks so much for watching the video and commenting. If you ever make it over here to Italy, let us know. We can have a drink please subscribe if you can to help our little channel cheers, Marlene.
@@passportstravelvloggers2580 Isn't that crazy? both upstate NY and NEPA. I'm from NEPA. It's not an accident. A lot moved to NEPA because of the mines. They had sulfur and salt mines where they came from so some had experience mining and then others followed suit because they had paesani there. You find that a lot, even in the area I'm from certain neighborhoods were settled by Sancataldese, certain by Eugubini (from Gubbio, my mom's family was from there), Guardiese, etc. I have cousins in Rochester as well, and some more distant cousins in Detroit (who I don't even know). I'm a Cali or Calì in Italy. There are a bunch in San Cataldo.
Saluti, Marlene.
