Thank you for highlighting asters! I know folks like to have a mum or two at their front door, but I hope they’ll consider adding asters to their landscape… appreciate the details on yours 😊
I personally LOVE asters! I have had one growing in a pot for 3 years now, and it is MASSIVE. Additionally, I have planted 6 new asters in my garden just recently, and I love them. So, I absolutely agree with you!
Love Love the white wood aster. I encourage it to seed everywhere in my garden because it adds so much late summer- early fall interest. I started with 5 plants and now I cannot even count.
Yes, love hearing about plants in your garden. I do love asters. That first one you showed is really cute. I need help, where to plant bugbane. It always starts out healthy, but then ends up crispy. Love your videos!
Sunday, my husband and I were hiking in the local State Park. We saw lots of beautiful Astor families, golden rod and Sumacs turning colors. It was just a beautiful. Thanks for your videos.❤🙏
Thank you, your focus on native plants is vital to the survival of all the insects and wildlife that have co-evolved with them & rely on them as host plants. Much appreciated!
I planted 'Blue Fortune' agastache last year. I lost one, but the remaining two made up for it. One has split so I'll either employ the Chelsea Chop or stake them. I'm thinking of moving one to the side yard behind a lilac I planted this year. I am thinking of revamping a narrow strip garden at the back of my house. Maybe add that tall aster you showed to hide the electrical meter.
Thank you for this wealth of information. I was just thinking that my garden was beautiful up until recently. I need more gorgeous plants that will bloom in fall. Thank you!
I got some wild Aster that started to grow all over my yard recently, and I experimented with one plant this year by Chelsea chopping it to 25cm in early May, The result is stunning, instead of a single tall stem that would have flopped I got shorter and very bushy plant. If should start flowering soon. I must Chelsea chop more plants next year.
Thank you for the beautiful tour and the variety of asters. I have the aromatic asters just opening and they are a bee magnet. They do spread by rhizomes but easily controlled. Only wish they lived up to the name but the leaves have a scent when crushed. 🌸
Hi Yulia, off subject, I brought in all of my amaryllis to take in the basement and I have one about to bloom! I believe it’s a green one I received as a gift, I forget it’s name. I was very surprised 😁 and anxiously waiting its bloom 😁
I was just thinking about moving mine from the deck to the basement for their "timeout." Did you keep them in the soil or take them out and into a paper sack?
@@QueenAnnesLace13 it opened today! It is my green one. And I looked through my others and I have 2 of them budding up! I’ve never put my amaryllis outside before? They’re all so green, the leaves are so healthy looking. A different experience for me for sure.
Isn’t that normal? Flowers don’t last forever. After a while they drop the petals and the seed heads grow. It’s only a problem if flowers drop petals as soon as they open or are still very young. Try dead heading, which is snip off the spent flowers to encounter new ones forming. Also consider that we are in the fall and coneflowers are at the end of their cycle. They are slowing down and then will stop producing flowers in preparation for winter rest.

I have both the wood aster and the blue aster and they really are fantastic plants. I live in the north of UK.

So glad you are balanced with plants of both kinds!

I'm the same.. I adore natives and use them when I can but I'm not a purist.
Welcome to the club 😁🙌
Beautiful!
I'm obsessed with asters. I grew a shade tolerant variety of goldenrod from prairie Moon nursery from seed. And they're blooming now!
What’s the variety?
@@IwillBEme4U I think Solidago caesia but there's also flexicaulis
Always Down for a native video
Thanks Brad!! ☺️😊
This was a great video, love those plants!
White wood aster
I have this growing in my yard and had no idea what it was. It’s beautiful. Thank you for this video.
I love your garden!! I just planted a few plugs of sky blue aster and wood aster 😍 so I’m so happy to see what they will look like in a few years!
We are in out third summer of "extreme" drought. I am delighted to learn how much drought my asters can take.
Thanks for sharing 😀

@@Edu_Kate I kept them in the soil, in the pots they were originally in.
Sounds like you received an early Christmas/Holiday gift. ☺

Aster's are the birthday flower for the month of September!!!
I'm curious, where have you found your asters? I can't seem to find the white ones.
Prairie moon nursery
@@greatgardensforall thanks!!!!!
Please show your cultural root ( chandelier candle plant) its white flowers
It blooms in July, so only seed heads right now 😊
Vliegen doen ook bestuiving😇
Anyone know why my coneflowers drop their petals when I plant them from the nursery? Just the seed head remains. Leaves are fine. Plenty of water.
