- The royal household is to take delivery of two new helicopters, as it committed itself to maximising use of the aircraft.
At a previous financial briefing in 2022, a source described the eco-conscious King, then-Prince of Wales, as “pretty allergic” to travelling by helicopter and said he would always “raise an eyebrow” and object when the mode of transport was suggested.
But the Sovereign Grant financial report published on Wednesday revealed the aircraft will arrive in 2024-25, with the plan approved by the Treasury.

Think before you whine for the sake of it. The two heirs and Charles may no longer travel together, accordng to the rules for their safety and I'm sure that Camilla and Princess Anne could share another 'copter. All have busy schedules and are aging...long drives no longer suit them. Thank Labour for future blackouts! Don't blame it all on the royals.
How often do Charles and William attend any thing together that needs transport like that, and if they do they surely have the technicians to keep the ones going. Most people have cars that need maintaining at some point but we can't just go to the government and ask for a new one nevermind 2.

Bio fuel is made of food ie it requires us putting food into our petrol tanks.
This might cause a few food shortages (block margarine nearly impossible to find on supermarket shelves) and put prices up (cooking oils, block margarine price now up by 250%).
What is a minor inconvenience in this country causes food shortages and even hunger in other countries.

IMO - I am delighted if those who can afford to, will buy and test out these helicopters which are going to be as "green as is possible" and totally up to date. It is a way to move forward for everyone who may use helicopters to travel. Building New modern echo friendly homes and using hydroelectricity is wonderful and proven but the Governments should have modern standards to follow for ALL homes and hotels and make sure they are ALL inspected to the highest standard.
Good luck to you, its not going to stop them using private jets foreign trips. The day they talk about going green I'll be moving. Why should anyone spend thousands on heat pumps that don't heat the home, also extra fan heaters for warmth; wearing winter clothes indoors.. Whilst paying huge electricity bills.

There are many enviro actions they take in their lives to support a more sustainable world - through their organic farms, wind farms, tree plantings, ev cars etc that surely offset a couple of helicopters. Exactly my thoughts, they are, according to him buying two new helicopters, there is probably an age limit on the helicopters they have which may be costing a lot of money to maintain and the heir and the Monarch have never been allowed to travel together for security reasons, they attend an enormous amount of engagements, raising vast amounts for charities in this country, Kevin, for gods sake give them a break, I went off you when you harped on and on about the Princess of Wales’s illness, thinking you and everyone else had a right to know exactly what was wrong with her.
