The keybind modifiers is a great addition. It frees up more buttons
It's a huge deal if I will be able to assign nearly everything for my G920, can't wait to try. 😁

@@dominickphoenix1568 You can use buttons like CTRL, SHIFT, ALT etc in conjunction with other keys on your keyboard. For example, if you want to turn on your lights press L. For high beams, you could use CTRL+L. This allows for the same key to be used for multiple functions.
With this feature, it could actually be a start to adapting the game to consoles.

3:16 the automatic high beam headlight is so great
This is astounding. Gets better and better.
It would be awesome if we had a snow bar (that causes it to snow and covers the roads/ground) for winter time in settings, just like the rain bar.
Also, engine fan sounds, for ALL trucks would be great.

SCS, you guys continue to make ATS & ETS2 better and better, I love it! I can't wait to see what's new on the horizon. I play both games so much it seems I drive more in the game than in real life Please keep up the great work.
Can you tell me how ets has improved so much with the addition of daf xd? TIRSAN trailers? Used truck dealers? ( maybe, maybe.. ) When the community has been calling for years for completely different things that they are unable to do, and the game has to be saved by mods? But what we see from them is an overabundance of dlc for more and more money without bothering, for example, to update the old ones.
This isn't hate, it's just reality. Of course, they added some good features. But they could make the game so much better for the players, but why, right?
Funny idea. If they listened to the community, and did all the things the community wants, I bet they'd probably make more money..

@@Swxreyeah my game was running great but now has major lag issues only when in cab view… still get 30-60 frames when in third person but i don’t play that way
@@nickhterry Yeah I can't play in third person, it just feels weird, Idk how some people do it. First person or bust for me.

A rework on the wheels would be incredible. The trucks are increasingly perfect, but the wheels are outdated. And they end up not matching the trucks.
And I wanted some Utility, Great Dane or Wabash trailer.
There are good mods that cover all these things.

Solo por si eres nuevo. Scs ha lanzado ats 1.49 y hará lo mismo en breve con ets2 pasando a 1.49 e implementando las mismas mejoras.. hace tiempo que scs lanza primero una actualización y a los días lanza la otra con las mismas mejoras.
Both games seperate, yet the lazy developers keep the same 20 year old game engine for ATS, instead of being inovative and do something different, because they copy and paste from on game to the other. These games are VERY much the same.

@@smoothlyrough512 To say you're not exactly the brightest is putting it lightly. The games ARE very much the same, they function the same, look similar, play extremely similar, etc. And you know why that is? Because they're both TRUCKING simulators. One game covers Europe, the other America. That's fundamentally the difference is that one game covers a different part of the world vs. The other. At the core, they're going to very similar and no amount of "innovation" is going to change that, genius.
SCS is a pretty small development studio as well, they have ONE developer currently working on VR in his free time as a side project. SCS is also a European developer as well, so any time they need to develop American trucks or scenery they need to fly all the way to America to do it. The fact that they're able to do all the above with limited resources, without a publisher that pumps billions into the company, AND release content/DLC for a small fraction of what common game DLC is priced at nowadays is nothing to scoff at.
But, since you apparently know better, why don't you develop your own innovative game, with your own proprietary engine WITHOUT a publisher and then come back here and let us criticize you?

OK, but please don't forget about optimization. So that there is no inadequate load on the computer..
Direct x12 and an improved game engine is on its way (I think the former is coming before the latter) but in future we should see better CPU utilisation.

There is also a bug: You cannot deliver cargo to Seattle as the green 'finish job' icon is not showing.

Now that there are used truck dealers, you should add all the trucks that were featured in the 18 WoS series (but licensed this time) just like how you add all cities in that were featured in 18 WoS in state DLCs.

Have to say the weather and lighting effects are excellent in VR. Dusk really feels like the real thing and overcast days occasionally instead of constant sunshine really adds to the illusion of driving through America. Can't wait for the ETS2 oculus 1.49 beta.

All seems to be good & it's a fact that SCS never disappoints it's players. I have only one request that if you guys can also add Hotshot hauling as well. It will be very good to deliver the load by driving a pickup truck (for e.g, dodge ram etc.) & as the hotshot trailers vary in length for e.g, 30ft or 40ft so it will also make the delivery challenging which will be totally a new experience for the player & that feature will also stays within the genre of trucks.
It will be super cool to see that in future update.

I Would love if you guys can make a Classic Truck DLC, specially if you guys do it by deccade, i would love a 90s DLC with Freightliner Argosy, Freightliner Century Class, Volvo VN, Peterbilt 386 and 387, Kenworth T2000 and T600 with 90s Arodyne, Western Star 4964 with 90s sleeper, Western Star 5900, Sterling AT9500 series, Mack Vision. Also a 80s DLC with Peterbilt 377, 372, 376 and 377, Kenworth T600, T400, T800, W900B and K100E, Freightliner FLA, FLB and FLD, White/GMC/Volvo WFT and WIA, Ford LTL-9000 and Aeromax, Mack MH and CH models, and so on!

@@smoothlyrough512 i knew someone would talk about mods, but mods are porly made, sounds terrible, sometimes don't follow the graphic style of the game, i would rather paid for well design trucks instead of installing shitty mods for free.

What a great update this is! Very nice to see SCS fully taking advantage of the light processing implemented back in the 1.40 version with the new HDR skyboxes and weather effects. It really takes the gameplay to another level! Sunrises and sunsets are better than ever (Especially on my LG 55C2 tv). I'm also amazed by how freakin' cool the Paccar Technical Center is!
Talking about Paccar... My little finger tells me that SCS are secretly cooking something to be unveiled by surprise in a twitch live stream and to be released by the end of this year. Anyone can guess what I mean? 🤔

I was already extremely excited about the new graphics for the skybox but I'm so, so happy for the auto-headlights feature, I hate getting tickets when the sky is still super bright imo (yeah, I know there are mods for that but many remove all tickets completely or are constantly in need of updates).
I can't wait to check out all the things this update adds, EA/Maxis could really learn a few things from you guys and Hello Games, Not only do we have 4? packs that add pets instead of 1 like in previous Sims games but now 'For Rent' which is what 'City Living' should have been and talk of yet another wedding pack after 'My Wedding Stories' was a complete and utter disaster that we are expected to pay for and here you guys are constantly adding great upgrades to the game for FREE.

Great now make this Multi-Thread and Officially Support VR instead of 1 person in their spare time doing VR Developer Branch, because that guy/gal (whoever you are is very much loved from us VR players, and we believe you deserves more coffee and a raise.)
Not worth their time, vr is a niche thing and wouldnt benefit them in ANY way

Pretty sure they're only doing the lower 48 states. Although there are mods that add HI and AK.

I love it. Gotta check how you tackled the unusable used trucks after repairing them... they were relatively pointless in the initial beta release.
What bothers me is that the emergency braking assistant and adaptive cruise control are absolutely broken at this point. Had to fully turn them off both in ATS and ETS. Please fix.

which was not the problem in older versions, fog thunder rain effects not there in 1.49 , I played both ats and ets2

🚦Loving the new update! Just a thought - how about an update on traffic lights? I’m thinking Doghouse lights (5-signal head), 4-segment vertical with flashing yellow arrow, the five-signal vertical to start…
I’d also wanna see more realistic traffic signal operation. So like if at a red light where you two opposing sides both have two straight lanes and a left-turn lane, you have the following situations:
- If the turn lanes for both opposing sides are empty, both straight-ahead lights turn green without the arrow-head left turn lights turning green for the cycle
- if only one opposing side has traffic occupying the two straight lanes and the left turn lane, they automatically get a “green-arrow-green-light” situation.
It can be quite IRRITATING and can RUIN a bit of my playing experience to have to wait at a red light for the left-turn arrow lights to come on and nobody is there to turn at either side of the intersection, while I’m sitting there about to be late for a delivery!!!
Fixing these traffic light issues to make the game a little more real-life would be so cool!
