You got it Dieter, there are a lot of fancy tips and tricks for the Elio class... it may be a while, but I'll see about getting the Advanced version made down the road. Thanks for asking.
This video has been amazing. I've playing dofus on and off since 2004 and the latest character I was having troubles when coming back is the elio. This guide helped a lot. Thanks for it!
I'm still new to dofus. I have a lvl 42 osamodas but after this video you really made me wanna try Elios and I've been loving their geometrical playstyle and outplay potential. I'd be glad if you could make a more advanced video as well. Thank you for all the amazing content!
That's fantastic Christy... yeah, the Elio is a REALLY fun class! I'm glad the guide was helpful and you gave them a try. I'll try to get an 'advanced' guide created a some point, but it's a ways down my production list at the moment. Thanks for the encouragement on the channel, I really appreciate it. :-)
Great video! I have an Elio in my 4-man team. I thought I knew the basics but I was wrong. Never knew the damage increases by the distance the spell travels :) Thanks! A little 1v1 PvP advice for Elio's when fighting Sadida's. Do not use 'Interruption'. Against most classes that seems the way to go in 1v1 PvP but most Elio's got themselves killed by me because they close all their portals. A Sadida can easily block your portals so you cannot reach the Sadida anymore. That becomes even easier when Sadida's can control their summons in version 2.58. So either keep your portals open or just close the ones close to you so the Sadida cannot use your portals to damage you.
That's awesome Wesmaster - so glad I was able to help you out some. Also, BIG thanks for those PvP tips... I'm sure people look for PvP advice on this class all the time, but unless someone likes you pops it in the comments, they're not going to find any on my channel...lol. Appreciate that and support as always!
This video was GREAT! So didatic, I just learned almost everything I needed to know to play my Elio. Just started playing today and didn't understood the mechanics before watching your video. Thanks man!
I have been playing for a long time, and consuming a lot of videos of dofus on youtube, and this is just the best guide that i had seen. Congrats, keep on with your channel
Ohh man, it's nice to find that there is someone in this universe that explain Dofus in English, Thanks a lot for that Benjamin, you just got one more subscriber to your channel, my friend, keep going.
I love your channel and energy man. You are the reason why I came back to dofus after 4 years. So so much to learn and adapt to, but you give me hope that I will be good to go soon lol.
I've never played an Elio until recently and this helps for sure. I saw Reflex doing some crazy damage in Klime or Nileza and that convinced me to try ha.
You're welcome Chriseggroll - so glad I could help. Elio is a SUPER fun class, but getting past that initial learning curve can be a bit much sometimes... very happy to hear you gave them a go!
On the increase spell damage, I don't think it's the distance between your char and your enemy but the distance that the spell travels, which means even if u are 1 cell away from ur target and your redirection runs across the damage will be bigger than if you were just far away from him but with less spaced out portals. So the more spaced the portals are and the longer range the spell travels threw them the greater the damage. (sorry bad englando) You are still right overall, the greater the distance, bigger the damage.
Yes thats exactly how it works. Is spell travel distance, now ur fisic distance. I think he just wanted to show that ppl dont need to worry to place 4 portals all the time in order to deal damage, as it is a verry basic guide. But ofc with 4 portals ur travel distance most likely will increase a ton. Imo he should have covered this a lil better.
Yeah, I realized after reading your comment, at the beginning of the video I can see where that confusion could occur, because I was stating "I'm now 3... 4... spaces away". I think I clear things up a lot better about mid way through once I start sharing How to Increase Damage through Portals, but if someone doesn't watch the whole video, they may miss it...lol - oops. Anyways, thanks for clarifying.
Great guide, thanks a lot for answering many of my questions & I hope that you'd make a guide for foggernaut showing some tricks & tips on how to use their summons, mechanics & items to look out for.
You're welcome F4ppingfox - so glad I could help. A Fogger guide is a great idea... I'm familiar with Int really well, and I'm getting better with the Str. Perhaps once I've tried out Cha & Agi too, I'll feel comfortable making a nice guide on it. Thanks for the suggestion.
Thank you Kyle, so glad you enjoyed the video! I've had a LOT of requests for this, so I was very excited to finally get it put together! I knew if it didn't happen this week, it probably wouldn't happen until the new year due to Kwismas guides... but I made it. :-)
Hey, awesome video! What about you show us the spells in order of levels? Something like "ok, from level 1 and 2 these are your spells, and on lvl 3 you get this on here that does this new trick..."
Thanks so much, I appreciate that. I'll see what I can do... working on a new strategy for getting more Class Guides created, so I'll make sure Xelor is on the project list. :-)
Ah finally, now i know how they work Now im thinking of using an Elio on dofus since i do main it on wakfu and i want to see how different they are other from the portal mechanics. Wonder how would traveling trough them works, since in wakfu, you just need to walk to them and choose the portal, so for dofus, does it take you the same way as the spells or you can choose wich one to go to?
Hello SAS - when walking through the portals on Dofus, you don't get to pick where to come out... it follows the same path as the spell. So whichever one calculates as open and furthest away, that's where you will come out.
Agreed, you could do some seriously epic looking combos with that team, but the thinking process needed to make it look good, is on a level MUCH higher than I could probably manage...lol.
hey im new to dofus , tried couple class but none keep my interest , this one seems interesting , im down to spend alot of time learning one to get good at it !! i want it to be good for the long run , do you recommend this one ? and if you would recommend me 3 other one what would it be ? according to your tier list i was thinking maybe enutroff any other suggestion ? thanks alot :D
That's awesome Nicholas - and welcome to Dofus. The Elio is a fantastic class and a great choice for running solo... the learning curve on them is very high though - not one I would recommend to someone brand new to the game. HOWEVER, always play the class that sounds the most fun... that's the most important thing! You asked for 3 other recommendations... the Enutrof is also a fantastic choice - the damage is not as high, but if you build them with Chance, you increase your drop rates - so that's a big plus. I do have a Class Guide for them on my channel that will teach you a LOT about how to use this class if you haven't seen that yet. My other 2 recommendation. If you're brand new, I think the Cra, built in the Agility element, is an awesome first class for new comers - some people find them a bit boring though because you pretty much try to stay back the whole time. If you're looking for something with a bit more challenge, I would consider the Sadida Class (go either Strength or Intelligence) or perhaps the Foggernaut (again, go either Strength or Intelligence). I hope that helps - best of luck!
Hi Indi - unfortunately, I'm not sure... I haven't tried the Elio on Wakfu. I would "assume" they are similar, but what little I've played of Wakfu, I have found substantial differences in how the classes work... so there's a chance they don't. I wish I could be more helpful here for you.
Elio's are always most challenging at low levels because of the low MP. No real tips here, except practice with those portals. One trick I can give... you can cast portals through other portals... it's an easy way to get portals further down the other side without using MP. That may help.
I've tried Chance the most and love it... agility a little, but didn't enjoy that one as much. Intelligence I haven't tried, but I've seen impressive damage with it... I also feel it has the most spell range outside of portals. Strength I've never tried, so not sure on that one. So my personal favorites go Chance 1st, then Intelligence, Agility, and strength last only because I haven't tried it yet.
Awesome - intelligence has the easiest range setup, so that would be a good idea. I can't recall, but I think a lot of Strength spells also move the target, so that may make them a little trickier to use with portals - but maybe also be really fun. Good luck.
Hmm I wonder... can you throw someone through the portal with pandas karham? Elio is such an interesting class, but I always fear the learning curve and my lack of time to master it.
Picking elio as first class I ever played my brain was like ooff. can do max up to 2 mobs or I get killed. But after getting neutral was able to move up to 4 mobs. Didn't know you could heal yourself via portals also.
Yeah, I hear a lot of people like to pick Elio as their first class, but then get very lost. Did you stick with them Lukas or leave and come back after a while?
