your friendly sound engineer again here. Different material absorb different frequencies, rule of thumb is: denser the material, the bassiest freqs are absorbed, less dense materials (foam, hell even towels) absorb higher frequencies. if you airgap the dense materials from the walls, they also work better as sound insulation (sound insulation: less sound escapes the room, sound deadening: less echo). So combining materials usually is the best for a boxy room like that, with denser materials in the corners for bass traps. (and no, egg cartons don't work at all)
@@TylerTube always start with your corners first and above and behind you that should make the most noticeable difference. And any carpet you can get on the floor like area rugs should help a good deal also if you don't already have a carpeted floor. Sorry to hear about the garage man hope you get the green screen thing going eventually
I honestly forgot about the eviction notice in the drywall video and was wondering why you were in a new place but I’m glad everything worked out and you are ok
Haven't been to your second channel in a while so I'm just seeing this. The panels look good. I used Roxul Safe 'n' Sound for my studio myself. Just wanted to give a little advice. Something breathable like burlap is a lot better for sound getting trapped into the Rockwool. You can also make your own bass traps (the cubs you have in the corners, but these will be triangles like they should be) that are a lot longer and will cover a lot more of the wall, and no wood required. Just measure even triangles into the Rockwool and use a steak knife to cut them out. Line them up in your cloth material however long you want them, fold the cloth over them and staple to hold the ends in place (be sure to not wrap them too tight). You can tack or nail them in the corners. Helps with reverberation and the lower dBs in one's voice. As far as where to place your "panels" in relation to where you're recording, I'd explain but it'd take too long and this is already long enough lol. There's plenty of tutorials on YT though!
I really enjoyed this style of video. The wall behind you is a bit weird/different because it's so plain. congratulations on your new place and show us that puppy!

Rockwool sells 2ft by 4ft semi-ridgid panels called "Comfort Board" that you could hang up as is. Also there's a thinner very inexpensive semi-ridgid sheet product called "Sonopan" that does pretty much the same job.
If you wanna significantly reduce echo maby you'd want to get carpet flooring. Also putting furniture into a room is a good way to decrease echo. Why was he evicted?
Also i think if you just put egg foam padding on the walls that will be a great sound dampener
Why are you filming at this location? I miss the classic garage
Congrats on the new place buddy

damn the eviction notice wasnt 100% a joke?
No he sold out.. that's what you do for greed. Sell out and not listen to the people who made you popular in the first place. Watch him probably delete this comment because he doesn't want to deal with the truth.
@@worthmorethanmyjourney How exactly?
@@worthmorethanmyjourney I am not being a troll. What are you talking about??
@@worthmorethanmyjourneyyou seem too emotionally invested about a random man on the internet. Take a walk outside buddy
