      @ Rey Bat
      BINGO!!! 🎯🎯🎯
This is, disgracefully enough, a part of their training.
Police have a saying where interacting with the public is concerned "**Don't** ask them--you **tell** them..", and this mentality is still taught to academy inductees to this day..

I love how the man was asking why he was being detained/arrested and the cop, while putting him in handcuffs stated, they're gonna get their story together first...
First off, don't put people in handcuffs and "detain/arrest" them if you don't know what they have allegedly done.

Nothing like tying up the victim and then telling him “we’ll let you know why I’ve tied you up”!
Guilty before innocence presumed. Call the police to tell them I’ve stolen my own car. “Are you sure you don’t have a record???”
    Disgraceful.

"The description of the guy who took off in *your* car is just like yours." I'm guessing the officer who saw a man drive away in the car (who happened to look like the owner) and crash it. The cops have a suspicion he staged the theft? Probably the perspiration made it look like he jogged back from the crash site.

I used to work for a Police Department. You are right to not to trust the police I am sorry to say. I saw innocent people arrested, charged, or lies written in reports on them. And the arresting PO's knew the person"s were innocent or had nothing to do with the incidents
Seen it backfire a few times. One time come to find out the person who should have been arrested wasn't because the Police Officer thought this person (white man) had power behind him (he did). But the person he assaulted (a black woman) had power on her own. She had a high position in city government. She insisted this person be arrested. I never saw so many muckety mucks come from City Hall. And the person who should have been arrested at the very beginning for assault was arrested. I've found the police bully, lie, arrest, etc people they think are powerless. But this is why when stuff happens people have to report it and follow through.

Literally as a Native American woman from California, I was pulled over in Arkansas and as they were questioning me for driving Brown, asked me the same exact thing. I responded the same exact way since I in fact, have never been arrested. And the racist asshole cop said the same thing..."Are you sure?" Like I wouldn't know if I've never been in handcuffs or not. It's like they just expect every single Brown and Black person to automatically have been in jail, like we collectively are bad people because of our race. It's so infuriating to live in this country sometimes.

I’m an old white retired cop. One thing I noticed was a frightened young officer pacing around afraid to holster his taser because this CRIME VICTIM intimidated him. Take a pill or find another job. It wasn’t exactly John Dillinger or Al Capone that y’all had surrounded. The reoccurring problem is a lack of concern by SOME cops regarding the image they leave behind. It’s glaringly evident that many simply do not care. Now, I want to support qualified immunity but I hate the abuses that are occurring. IDK, it’s hard for me to say it but perhaps it is time we take a harder look at QM. Some officers feel they are entitled to use and abuse it whiles others understand it is a privilege.

Having more than one ID is a GOOD thing. It’s extra proof that you’re who you say you are. It’s only ever a problem if one or more of those IDs were fake, then you might have some explaining to do.

This is a classic example of cops getting a call from dispatch about a crime, and before dispatch can get one sentence in, the cops are already thinking, "I have to arrest a black man"! This is engrained racism, it's deep seeded. These types of cops have had racist beliefs from a very young age, unfortunately too many law enforcement agencies gladly hire them and encourage this behavior.
