Dick Harper , the police office who won almost $6,000, was very handsome and quite a sharp dresser, not easy for such a tall man. His 1974 LAPD annual salary was probably around $15,000 so he did quite well!
Interesting that Jo Anne said Tiger's Milk, as a few months back, Tiger's Milk Protein Bars was a sponsor of Match Game for a few weeks - their product was shown on those intra-program spots where Johnny would announce usually three companies that provided products (to give to losing contestants) and financial consideration. I remember being amazed that the Tiger's Milk bars had basically the same exact packaging/wrapper back then as they do now. But the audience that day didn't say it...
I remember Gene mostly as a creepy perv. His needlepointing, taking ballet and healthy relationship with his wife are redeeming qualities that allowed me to like him all those years.
I remember some cartoon (or sitcom?) character in the late 60s singing the Tiger Rag. It was an earworm for me as a child. Does anyone remember who it was?
ROFL! Another fine episode! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Gene! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Charles! ;0) Love the entrances, silliness, voices, acting and the fun Gene.. ;0) I don't mind a guy who sews, or does needlepoint, or does ballet but if I see a guy in kind of pink color makes me mad.. ;0) false teeth.. Do you know when the doctor gives you that little bottle.. specimen.. Tiger tail or a tail of a tiger?? ;0) You got the message from the audience.. ;0) I think they are trying to tell you something.. ;0) vine.. I always wonder if people over hear things in the back on game shows… She said tiger tail for the Tarzan question, which made no (or little) sense… However, later tiger (blank) was a question… I’m wondering if she heard people in the back saying Tiger… Tail… that could be another response, and applied it to the wrong question… If you ever watched the famous Family Feud episode with the guy who gave “Turkey” as the answer to the first three questions at the end… you know when he was leaving the sound proof room he over heard someone say something like “he should have said “Turkey” (for the third question)… Something people stuff… And he said it for all three answers until it made sense.
taager tail ?? TOOO cute. I would go down to the courthouse and MARRY that girl - right then and there !!! And, the Big Match - TIGER ________ !!!!! Wow. Talk about an amazing and funny coincidence !
Watch__________ (spoiler alert) That was actually a fairly easy head-to-head match in retrospect, because there don't seem to be a lot of good answers. I think Richard gave the best possible response. Unfortunately, the contestant's answer wasn't too good. A watch pocket? Maybe people still thought of those back in the 1970s, but I don't recall ever having heard of it. My mind went in a totally different direction: I thought of "Watch out!" or "Watch this!" so I wouldn't have won with Richard here either. I guess there's also watchman (as in night watchman) but it doesn't seem too likely either.
She said Tiger tail because there used to be a gas company called Esso (Exxon) that had a Tiger as a mascot and they had these stuffed tiger tails that you would place on the gas cap with the tail hanging out - just for fun...
Nipsey Russell is completely HILARIOUS!!!

Loved Nipsey 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

I found it very touching that following the Richard’s dream question, Richard and Brett kissed
Of course if the Big Match were done today the answer would have been "Woods".

Had heard "Hold That Tiger", but never knew it was called "Tiger Rag"...
That was so funny when they brought out Tiger (Blank)

Charles: I was just thinking what a nightmare that must have been.

People really do call Richard, Charles. I know I do. It's happened a lot on the show.

@@lynskyrd78 specifically it's from an old blues standard titled who do you 💘, in which a line goes use a cobra 🐍 for a 👔 ✌
Gene still needs a haircut.
Where do they get those outlandish necklaces?
Gaudy was in fashion during the 70s.

You're welcome.
Funny.
Like zero overweight people to be seen here.
Gay guys must be selecting Gene’s clothes for him.
He'd look better than that.

Could you hear Mayor Rudy Giuliani say, "Tiger Lilly"? Tiger Gigwy
I'm pretty sure the female contestant was on before, but she didn't win the game.
Does Charles have any other clothes? That pink housecoat seems to be all he ever wears
It's a cable knit sweater honey.
