You just don’t hear Catholic women talk about this much- even in the rural tight-knit community I grew up in. Working outside the home is so favored now. Corning Ware is one of the most versatile dishes around! When it first came out, one of the commercials advertised it as “from the freezer, to the oven, to the table.” I have been married for nearly 52 years and got some as wedding gifts that I am still using! I have also inherited some of my mom’s and my dear mother-in-law’s Corning Ware pieces, as well as some I picked up at thrift and resale shops. Their companion dinnerware, Correlle, has lasted me 29 years without one piece breaking! I loved this podcast!

I loved hearing all the tips! I'm old, so I do have corning ware that I received as a wedding gift. It is the white ceramic looking, but glass dishes with little blue flowers on the sides. Most come with a clear lid. They not only cook food well, but they clean up easy! Wishing you and your family a blessed weekend!
Also a wooden spoon across a pot of boiling potatoes when making mashed potatoes. If needing to soften a stick of butter for baking, pour boiling water in a tall glass, then pour water out water and place glass over a standing stick of butter for a few minutes. The stick of butter will be perfectly softened and not melted.
Brilliant!!! Although - I have made my boiled potatoes in the Instant Pot so long, I think I forgot you could boil them on the stovetop. Ha! I've learned the butter trick as well and taught my kiddos - since we no longer have a microwave. It's a great hack! Thanks for sharing it with everyone!
Wow, this takes me back! My mom contributed to countless church lady cookbooks in her day. She passed last year at age 94 and the one thing I asked my brother to send me when he was cleaning out her stuff was her cookbooks! So many memories!

Corning Ware is a cooking/bakeware dishes. Both my grandmother and mother had so much of this cookware. It has become quite collectible in recent years. I live in Ohio and there was a factory in Greenville not too far from where I live. It was very popular in the Midwest. It was durable and easy to clean. So it become very popular. It’s quite attractive too!
Loved the list. I have lots of Corningware baking dishes. Grew up with it. Mine is french white and cornflower blue flower on it. They sell it at Walmart Canada .. or did.

This was a great video, I’d love for you to share more. One favorite kitchen tips, if you drop a raw egg on the floor or counter, pour salt all over it, let it set for a few minutes & it wipes up so easily. Trust me, it works, I may have dropped an egg or two 😂
Descale a tea pot with 1 part vinegar and three parts fresh water and boil. Then, if you have tile floors (mine is porcelain, other materials, please check to make sure vinegar won’t damage them!), pour the vinegar-water mixture on freshly vacuumed floors, use big cleaning towels to have a floor cleaning dance party! It’s the only way I ever enjoy cleaning my floors.
I'm still using my Corningware from 1980 and it's fabulous! I absolutely loved these tips from your Relief Society cookbook and thank you for sharing a bit about that organization. I see so many videos about folding fitted sheets. I don't put a lot of effort into that. When I change sheets I always toss them in the dryer with a wet dryer sheet. Then I put them on the bed while they are warm and wrinkle free
Right there with ya! I don't even have spare sheets most the time. I wash and make the bed same day, as that fresh washed sheet feel and smell can't be beat. I've decided I just don't need the skill of knowing how to fold a fitted sheet. Ha!

Great video, never heard of the relief society. What an awesome organization. Here is a great tip/hack. Farm fresh eggs are very difficult to peel when boiled. Instead steam them for 20 minutes, then per usual run them under cold water. When comfortable to touch they peel like a dream.
Thank you! Glad to have taught you something new! I loved your fresh farm egg hack! Those can be really difficult to peel. I've also found "boiling" them in the Instant Pot works wonders. The peels come right off - but putting them directly in the ice water is key.
One thing that I have been doing to keep the kitchen sink clean and from holding onto small bits of food. I use car wax, smear it on, let it dry then polish. It beads up water and doesn't allow food to adhere.
That is so brilliant! I would love to know what kind of sink you have and what material this works well for. We moved into a home with a stainless steel sink and I am not loving it. It looks messy all the time. I'm going to have to try this trick.

I understand you are a woman of faith as well... maybe different than mine...but there is still a connection there... we are both homemakers, women, mothers, wives, friends, neighbors ; to turn away from those who are different than us...what does that say? not much! Yeah, you're too young to know what CorningWare is,😂. It's an old bakeware popular back in the 70's that was made out of an opaque glass material that had a small design on them. My mom had the ones with blue flowers on them. She had a whole set, but I have been unable to find them all. I've heard that they're worth a great deal of money now.

LDS believe in God and Jesus. They are just a different faith that have different traditions, just like Jewish, Catholics, Methodist, Muslim, Evangelist, Unitarian and non denominational. I don't attend Church anymore, but fully believe in God and Jesus Christ and always working on my relationship with God. We are all sisters in Christ, regardless of our faith or lack there-of. I fully believe we were not put here on earth to judge our fellow brothers and sisters, but to love them as we would want them to love us.

Keep a wooden chopstick in your flour canister to level off a cup or half cup of flour.
Descale a tea pot with 1 part vinegar and three parts fresh water and boil. Add a piece of bread to your brown sugar, stops clumping or hardness. Corningware is a casserole dish.

Use baking soda and white vinegar when washing your towels. Helps with odors and softens them.
