It sounds like the relay doesn’t work anymore. Do you here a click sound when you’re switching it on? (Not the click of the button) If you don’t hear a clicking sound it chances are the relay is corroded/broken. That can be changed easily and cheaply if you can solder. Beware of risks involved !(electric shock etc.)

I have the same issue. This is a flaw of this model. I think the standby power consumption is around 10W, which is disastrous.
