Thanks very much! I replaced the old (slightly oversized?) belt with a new 24mm diam. belt without taking the M41 apart thanks to your video (starts at 6:30). The tray now opens/closes perfectly. Many thanks for taking the time and effort to make this video!!!

Yes you can! Thank you so much for this video. This plus a new tray belt from an espares website in Portugal, and not a little nerve on my part, I replaced the belt, reconnected and all's well! I did have a go at replacing the belt with tweezers and without dismantling but found it too fiddly, so took got to work with the posidrive screwdriver!
Thanks a lot, it works perfectly! You can change the belt even more easily by simply removing the main cover.

I just today very excitedly received one of these units and they seem brilliant, except the CD tray has issues on DAY ONE. I press the eject - a few times it has stayed open as you'd expect, sometimes it opens and immediately closes, but usually it opens, stays open for a couple of seconds and then closes. Clearly a manufacturing/design defect, but also reassuring to know that I am not alone and that DIY fixes exist.
I am probably going to get a replacement since it is brand new but it's always possible for this to be a problem again in future. AGH, so disappointing! Good thing the CD player was my least concern with buying one.
I have M41 but there are just too many defects. I bought new unit and after a few power on and offs, screen stopped working. Now I have a problem with reading CDs (tray closes but it then just opens again, it doesnt start reading the disc) and I dont think I used CD tray for maybe 10 times! Just amazing really ... dissapointed!!!
Previously, the RCD-M41 that was on display at a consumer electronics store also had a deteriorated belt and the tray did not come out. I was very surprised.
@@ジャンクな黒桜 Yes, this is THE most disappointing audio product I've purchased. How can it be so difficult to build a CD player that just play CDs??? Ugh. But lesson learned: No more Denon products for me. --Thanks very much for the video, BTW!!!
I have the same problem with my Denon. Have you managed to find a fix? For me, it works if I pushed the right side of thr tray when it's closing.
@@fabianbello8128 i would have to send it for repairs, its not worth it. I use it connected to my pc with toslink.
A factory reset solves that one.

The CD player works again it wasn't the belt but the 16 pin flatcable connected to the circuit board that was damaged, at least I have now two spare belts, haha that CD player is a really very low quality one..🤐.. Tip: If the problem persists, try reseat Ribbon cable..
D and M announced not only their company but Sound united group was mergered by Europe or Us company in April.Management organise dose not change,they say.D and M says new products are released aggresively for this autumn.

My one has just swallowed a cd again and won't eject, second time it's happened, I got a six year warranty from Richersounds, still a pain to get it sorted tho.
My unit works perfectly but the cd drawer is not straight and is slightly slanting, so it has uneven gaps around it which is so obvious on a silver unit. This is a cosmetic issue only but do you think if I open it I will be able to adjust it in some way? I noticed that your units cd drawer has a similar issue at the beginning of the video. Thanks for the great video.
@@ジャンクな黒桜 Thank you for your reply. My unit is new, I’ve only had it for five days. When the cd drive is closed it is not level, there is a bigger gap at the top left and then a larger gap at the bottom right (hope that makes sense) It is a cosmetic issue. It seems that when the manufacturer assembled it they didn’t fit the cd drive straight.
The cause may be loosening of the screws of the unit that secures the CD drive unit.
I think it can be repaired if it is disassembled and assembled correctly.
If you purchased a new one, please consult your dealer for a warranty.

Seems rather bad for a unit that's only 7 years old at the most that the belt has already failed.,

少し暖かい程度であれば正常です。過熱すると保護回路が働き音が出なくなります。

自動で電源が落ちるのが保護回路です。落ちる場合は故障か設置する場所が狭く熱がこもっています。
8センチCDが再生出来ない事あるでしょうか？
取扱説明書には再生可能とありますが、レンズが劣化していたり、規格外のディスクだと再生出来ない事があります。

You are correct. I bought the M41 in Japan when it first came out, and it has never worked properly for a week. The CD has opened/closed correctly only for the first couple of months, but circuitry problems meant I sent to Denon for repairs (under warranty). Mixed results and still the tray won't close and play. This product was highly rated in reviews but is a waste of money, time, and whatever music we're all missing!
I bought my Denon RCDM41DAB in March 2019 and it has been playing perfectly all along and the sound is excellent with a set of Wharfdale Diamond 220 speakers.
But as for the CD player.. yes it is less than mediocre, sensitive to movement and the tray is worthless, I just ordered a replacement belt so I'm curious..👀
