    Titer Testing: hemopet.org/titer-testing/
Dr. Jean Dodds discussing adverse events and vaccinosis in relation to vaccines.
    - Adverse events occur in genetically predisposed individuals, and certain breeds are more prone to vaccine reactions.
    - Delayed reactions can be dangerous if veterinarians forget that the animal had a vaccine and administer another one, leading to fatal consequences.
    - Heavy metal exposure from vaccines, such as aluminum and mercury, is a growing concern and has been found in the brains of autistic individuals.
    - Vaccines should be tailored to individual animals and their risk factors, and unnecessary vaccines should be avoided.
    - Monitoring serum antibody titers can indicate protection and reduce the need for unnecessary vaccinations.
    - Education and communication with clients about vaccine risks and alternatives is crucial.
    - The duration of vaccinal immunity is longer than previously thought, and annual boosters are not necessary.
    - Rabies vaccines have been shown to provide long-term protection, and the rabies challenge fund research studies support lengthening the interval between vaccinations.
    - Individualized medicine and considering an animal's lifestyle are important factors in determining the necessary vaccines.
    - It is important to be cautious when vaccinating sick or febrile animals and to monitor their behavior and health after vaccinations.
    - The presentation emphasizes the need for education, understanding, and informed decision-making when it comes to vaccines.

I’m so grateful for all this information. My dogs will never receive another vaccine. I’m not even interested in titres; they’ve been poked over the yrs so many times that I can rest assured they have enough antibodies. My concern at this point is just doing all I can to detox my poor pups from yrs of unnecessary vaccines.

We were taking our dog to a vet and got a new Golden Retriever puppy. We had been researching Dr Dodds protocol and agreed with it. Then our contract with the breeder stated we must follow Dr Dodds protocol. Once we told our vet they kicked us out. “If you are going to follow this protocol, find another vet “. Gladly we did and never looked back. 😂

Our minds on vaccines and over vaccinating changed back in the 80's. It was when we had our 3yr old Doberman. This was back in a time where you would get that yearly Vet post card in the mail that they were due for yearly boosters. After its boosters at 3yrs old. Two days after being vaccinated they became lethargic, and its gums were turning white. Diagnosed with Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia. She needed weekly bloodwork. Was on immune suppressant drugs. Eventually the drugs didn't work. So, our Vet decided to do a Splenectomy and stronger immunosuppressant drugs. Which did not help. Our Dobe eventually developed Bladder Cancer.

I got a standard poodle when he was eight weeks old. He had had a lot of vaccinations at that point. When he was. Ready for the next round of vaccinations, I told my “integrative vet“ that I only wanted distemper and that was all. The office assured me that it would only be distemper and nothing else. They gave him the four-way distemper… Vaccine. Three days later, his eyes started bulging out of his head. He was diagnosed with immune mediated, ocular polymyositis, and was on prednisone for three months. The manufacturer paid The Vet bills. My dog is an owner trained Guide Dog and he is 22 months old now. He is a great guide. By law, I have to get the rabies vaccination, and I am absolutely terrified! I don’t know what to do. It makes me cry just to think about it. 27:43

Immensely beneficial if dog purchasers insisted with breeders, that puppies remain with the nursing mother way longer.
We have purchasing power with breeders, and power with veternarians.
Everything on pet vaccines we are questioning, should be the identical questions on human vaccines.
Can we connect the dots here?

I got a feral cat tame enough to come in and get her birthing place ready. Thank goodness it was a weekend when she was scratching at the door to come in. She had 8 kittens.🤦‍♀️
I took them all in for the scheduled vaccines. Lost 2 females to kidney failure before 2yo. A male had kidney failure and kidney stones, but made it to about 8yo. The males had been neutered, one very expensive because one of his balls didn't drop, so could cause cancer (what I was told after the surgery being done without contacting me). After that unexpected expense, I put off having the females spayed. Both ended up with Pyometra and emergency surgery. 17 years later, still have one female and three males, plus the mama still with me. The other female had hyperthyroidism and I lost her about 6 months ago. There was one vet that said that the kidney disease of 3 out of 8 was a genetic issue. I've always wondered if it was actually too many vaccines too close together.

Having followed Dr’s Dodds/Schultz work since about 2008, I no longer give vaccine boosters past the age of 4-5 years. (Of course after giving the puppy series, etc)
My hairless toy breed dogs basically live in a bubble, and aren’t at risk for much of anything.
I’m no stranger to doing titers, either. I wish to god I would have titered, rather than boostered my extremely, healthy 4 year old girl for Distemper in February of 2023. She got gravely ill about 60 days later, and was diagnosed with GME. An autoimmune disease in which the body attacks the brain. It’s incurable, and most often fatal. We are 9 months in, with her being a frequent flyer at UC Davis University Teaching Hospital. Her neurologist feels that since this disease is thought to be genetic, that her distemper vaccine flipped the switch in her, so to speak, and caused the disease. He’s instructed me to never give her another vaccine, period.
How would anyone like to live with the knowledge that YOU caused what may end your dog’s life at a young age, because you gave them the very last booster you ever give your dogs……based on their lifestyle, breed, and life expectancy? 😭😭

@@freethinkeralwaysdear god. So sad. I'm sorry this happened to you. It is a fair and legitimate question. Look up Protect the pets website. Under the 'science' tab there is a scientific paper from 2005 that shows smaller dogs had significantly more adverse reactions to vaccines within 3 days of vax. Gee...I wonder if it's because they got a dose 5x higher than they needed! 😢

    • @danag812
      @danag812 3 місяці тому

Look at the protect the pets website. Its 'rudimentary' but has good info. The vet who started that was interviewed by Dr. Karen Becker. That's how I found his site. He is dedicated to ensuring safe vaccination for pets. Lots of good info on the site. Go to the science section and look at the scientific study that was done in 2005 and published in the journal of the American veterinary association that was published in October 2005. It showed clearly that smaller dogs have significantly more adverse reactions after vaccination then medium and large. This is likely because they're getting doses that are way too high for them. Perhaps you can show this to your vet and he/she can become more informed. Good luck. ❤

I had an adverse reaction to a tetanus booster when I was 12. I am now 55 and still have random issues with vaccines. One of my horses had a reaction to a vaccination once and had to get epinephrine to counteract it. One of my cats had an injection site fibrosarcoma. She survived that but died a year later when it returned.

My 12lb dog had a 'positive' IFA Parvo and distemper teiter in 2023 at 1:5 (indicating protection). I just repeated it recently (Feb 2024) and now the results came back 'negative' at 1:5...not sure why the same ratio is now 'negative'...anyhoo...my vet wants to shoot her up with vax at the 'normal' volume. I am not happy about this...
From this video it looks like Dr. Dodds said a teiter result of higher than 1:4 is OK and indicates protection. I'd really rather not vax my pup. Especially at the full dose!
Any thoughts on this or help would be appreciated ❤

I really enjoyed listening to this. Helpful since I have a 12 week old puppy. Unfortunately because I work in emergency medicine we will be doing core vaccines. I change before coming home, but my area sees a lot of parvo and distemper. We will only be doing what is necessary but I’m already being pressured by the local clinic to do more than necessary. I don’t have access to vaccines because I work emergency so I am forced to go elsewhere for that. As a result I have a lot of empathy for owners who want to do what is necessary but are being advised otherwise. It’s pretty annoying actually.

I saw UA-cam videos of breeders vaccinating their own puppies. They show you how. And they tell you to get the vaccines at Tractor Supply. I'm in Canada but if you're in USA maybe you can do this and vax your pup your self. Also look up Protect the pets. The vet who started that has a dosage sheet by weight. Its for rabies vax but he says you can use that to inform dosages for other vaccines. Good luck. ❤

    • @ms.sallyann8596
      @ms.sallyann8596 3 місяці тому

@@danag812 unfortunately every time I’m at tractor supply those vaccine deliveries are sitting out on the floor waiting to be put away or I would do it. Proper storage is questionable so I avoid it. I am blessed enough to have a holistic vet nearby who is hard to get into but once we had an exam in place was willing to sell me the vaccine to administer at home. I am a veterinary technician so this is easy for me to do. If you can trust the storage and handling of a local feed store and are comfortable administering them, then this is a cost effective and reasonable option for some people. It just isn’t paired with any sensible guidance as they sell some with lepto and I personally wouldn’t give that one unless you truly have risk for it. And the particular brands carried have adjuvants in them that the vaccines my holistic vet carries don’t. I just settled on working with the holistic vet for vaccines and I am able to do everything else as far as blood work and parasite screening myself, something most people don’t have access to on their own.

I have a 15 wk. old puppy (11 lbs.) he got his first DA2PP at 6 wks by the breeder, then again at 10 wks. My vet gave him DHPP at 13.5 wks and they want me to come back for another one next week at 16 wks. He had a slight reaction to the last one (vomited once with loose stools for 2 days). Should I ask for a titer, and if so, should I wait until he's 18 weeks to do this? I'm confused by all this because it seems like everyone's situation is different, i.e. when they got their first shot, etc.

I believe Dr. Judy Morgan recommends the oral(?) but I would check that in her files/ videos. In all of my years of having dogs, I've never vaxxed for kennel cough. I had one out break about 8 years ago and I knew exactly where they got it from. We were at a dog show and someone there had dogs that were very ill and didn't remove their dogs from the 2 shows. We realized it on the second day and then it was too late. About 4-5 days later, my 2 dogs came down with kennel cough. It presented itself differently in both dogs. I own a dog grooming shop and have done grooming for over 33 years and have only come across kennel cough 1x and not in the shop. A client had 5 dogs who one was suspected of having and they treated them as per their vet.
