Horos ⚡️ Raw Techno Jam with Korg Volca Bass and Overdrive

- This is a 30 minute raw and harsh Techno jam with some of my favorite gear: Korg Volca Bass overloaded with overdrive, Roland Aira TR-8 with (very) distorted 808 kickdrums, and a lot of FX pedals. This is a very noisy session, and I loved to do it! Here's how I did it.

GEAR USED
1. TR-8 Bass Drum with Boss OS-2 pedal
I'm splitting my TR-8 signal, passing the Bass Drum (BD) through the Overdrive/Distortion (OS-2) pedal, and keeping the rest of the instruments dry - not totally dry to be honest because I send them to my Turbo Distortion (DS-2) on the mixing desk (Yamaha MG12XU).
2. Volca Bass with Boss ODB-3 and SYB-5 pedals
Before you ask me: yes, I'm using an M-Audio Oxygen8 to send MIDI notes to the Volca Bass! It's pretty easier to deal with Volca Bass keys this way. First, the signal passes through the Bass Overdrive (ODB-3), then it's processed with the Bass Synthesizer (SYB-5).
3. Volca Beats with Boss DS-1 and DD-3 pedals
Here the signal goes first to the Distortion (DS-1) pedal, then it passes through the Digital Delay (DD-3). Although my Volca Beats isn't the primary drum machine in this setup - the master clock is sent by the TR-8 -, its Kicks and Hihats play a very important role in the mix.

This is pretty damn good, man! I really like how you got such a huge sound from just a select few pieces of gear. A perfect performance, IMO. I want my own Volca & Boss setup now, very inspiring 🙏
