My L1 tech at our shop was struggling to get the passenger side v/c off due to the bracket that bolts the ac line being tack welded to the fender area. He swore up and down he couldnt clear the sensor tube, even after lifting up the wiring harness (he had already done this prior to my finding your vid). Telling me he was just going to bolt it all back up and lose the job and productivity, I found your vid and had him watch that section. He saw how you did it and subsequently got the v/c off. Thank you so much for your help and keep up the good work.
Planning on doing this DIY. Your video made me have confidence to do it myself. First I will bring the car to a nearby dealership and let them inspect the engine to confirm it's only the valve cover gasket and when they give me a quote, I'll decline and thank them for their service :) Cheers!
Hey what's up shoplife I have a 2008 550i and I have high vacuum in crankcase, when i go to take out my dipstick the car almost dies and you can hear a lot of air sucking in the tube and my car smokes a lot ,I changed out the ccv valves two times thinking the first one was a bad one but still the same problem. I've had the car parked for a year so I can work on it but I just don't know where to start, so I was hoping to get your take on it!!!!
Hey quick question i have a bmw 550i 2010 v8 i wanna replace the valve cover gaskets but some guy said u have to re program the car if i remove those gaskets is that true???
High I will be doing a tune up should I replace the coils they where replaced at 90k has 130 at the moment . What are you're suggestions also ngk or bosch btw I have ngk plugs
hello, sort of off subject but i value your professional opinion. Watching your videos i see the add for the BMW coolant stent fix. which i copied from the ad. my question is , have you use this fix product and how did you like it? I have a 2008 750i and currently have the valve covers off, the transmission pan off, oil pan off, alternator bracket off, and have been ordering every gasket under the sun lol . you know the drill. I do notice that it constantly goes low on anti freeze and figure i should just do the damn repair while i have everything else apart. the car has 140k miles on it now and i was going to drive it to the scrap yard and just get a new one, but i love the POS so much i decided to see if i could get another 50k miles out of it!! anyways, back to my original question. should I just buy this kit, or buy the fix with a new tube? thanks!!!!!!!!!(BMW V-8 Coolant Pipe Repair For N62 745i, 750i, 545i, X5 and More! Hey man Awesome video Started following this one while working on my 08 750Li I got everything done but the valve cover is not fitting back I can get it down in a position but it is not completely resting on the metal parts I made sure that I have put grease on spark plug pipes as well as inside the valve cover where they fit Does the valve cover need to fit exactly before I start putting bolts or it adjusts itself as I start putting torque on the bolts? Need help asap Thanks bud
You shouldn't disconnect the coils while running can damage the coil... Ive learned if you get some 3/8 heater hose cut them 3 in long stick them over the unplugged coil stub connect the plug wire on other end.start car Spark will take path down the inside of heater hose to coil. Last step connect a test light to a good ground start the car and touch the (metal end )of the test light to each hose one at a time and it will kill a cylinder and will not harm the coil.Good for finding dead cylinder. Hope it can help .

Great Video! I'm in the process of doing my head gasket on a 2007 650i. What do you recommend? does the engine need to come out for this job or do you think its doable with the engine in the car?
The trick to putting on the valve cover is to not put the spark plug tube all the way into the engine block and put assembly lube on the top part of the spark plug tube and rock back and forth as u push down
Amazing thanks man you saved me money I don’t know how u did it in one day question all other codes are gone the only one that I got now is p0393 I didn’t had it before
Will be doing mines first time a shop charged my warranty 1200 second shop our my pocket 950 personal me hanic would do it for 300 but I will try it my self looks kinda fun too
I have a E39 530i. The V8 version is basically doing the V6 version twice. In other words, twice the time, twice, twice the headache, and your back will be twice as sore the next day.
Miss-fire in all cylinders in one bank, you comment is unlikely. Not true on this engine. It is the exact symptom for a known problem in the valve-train. Something called "intermediate levers" which are the mechanism for BMW's variable valve lift fails. BMW call this system "Valvetronic". When this system wears, it causes a misfire at idle in the entire bank. Well known problem on early N62 engines.
No... after actually doing this, this video was pretty garbage, yeah, there's just this cover, and we pop it off... wtf? A lot of guess work, and turning to other videos even after looking at this.
