Chester never left Linkin Park. He just created a second outlet for his music besides Linkin Park. Dead by Sunrise had more darker Edge to it than Linkin Park ever did. Chester had written some songs in 2005 that he knew just wasn't Linkin Park's sound so he was going to make a solo album to release his songs.
This song is about how he felt going through his divorce from his first wife. He had a really hard time with his divorce.
