Hello there! I went a little ham on the ingame editing on this one. Was the pacing ok? I skipped some card explanations but tied to pop up every card on screen for people to pause and read if necessary. Let me know in the comments! Also: Thanks for tapping that Like Botton 😋
The pace is ok imo, plus I always enjoy your videos, love your brews and your sense of humor. Also, thanks to your ad I went and purchased the signed playmat 😊
@@friedaiceborn1663 the alchemy set introduced cards that can be modified 5 different ways. So a card could have 6 different versions. If they did that in paper, a card would need to have 6 sides.

Yeah! And you’d be surprised at how many people fall for it when I play my Azorius version of this deck in Arena. I do still have some Skrelv’s Hive copies in there, just in case.
True, but the reason it's better to use on the land is because it reverts back to being only a land after that turn, making it much much harder to get rid of.
I paused the video and smashed the like button mere moments before prompted lead me to believe Phil was literally speaking to me for about 5 seconds. Thanks for that little trip.
Oh man, so glad it's not just me where the audio cuts out randomly. I love this deck. What confuses me the most is I also have a deck that runs that Gideon, as well as Dovin, hand of control, and literally everyone I play against just attacks and never seems to realize why their creatures are doing zero damage.
I played magic in the 90's, then i stop even following the news about the game... however since YT highlighted your "brews", i watch every video you posted: Nice, entertaining and with a good pace! Keep it up, Nathan
This is one of the funniest decks I've seen in a while (the Deck of Many Things one was amazing too) but this time around, I genuinely want to build this. I adore seeing how far you can get your own life total and winning on a negative count.
Before Faceless Haven was banned I had a couple of people try the whole Book into activate Faceless into enlightened counter thing while being short one mana, be it of White or Snow, and it was always funny to have that extra turn to deal with the Book or the Haven. Though that combo was the reason I was running a full playset of Field of Ruin in every, single, deck I ever played at the time. Now I normally just run two Field's because of the various man-lands. Thanks for the video.
These are really sweet decks and really fun videos to watch. I was a little skeptical at first about an "against the odds, but different" series, but now I am a believer. This is my favorite video series on mtggoldfish :D
Literally screamed out loud and scared my dog when I saw you posted. (I ordered my playmat a couple days ago and I am SO EXCITED!) You make the best mtg content on UA-cam man and I’m so glad you’re on goldfish. ❤️💕❤️
I've been working on constructing this deck over the past 3 months or so, and I finally got it completed. Well, I have 3 cards left to craft for the sideboard, but that will get finished in no time.
This makes me want to try a Vona deck in Historic Brawl where I try to force this combo plus some other "low life total matters" cards and probably lose a bunch
Vona is actually one of my favorite commanders. I built it entirely because I wanted a commander deck to put font of agonies into, yet lifeloss control has become one of my favorite casual decks to play with friends.
Update: I made the deck and it was pretty fun. Could be better since I'm admittedly not the best deckbuilder but it was better than I anticipated. Didn't get the Axis kill just yet but I did manage to get someone to 3 life with it and that's a W in my book
11:20 Questing beast is the last mythic with a decent animation. Tezzeret master of the bridge laser hand is my favorite animation in any digital CCG I’ve ever played
8:00 you could tap faceless haven for third snow mana, it would turn into a tapped creature, but you still could use the Book of Exalted Deeds' ablilty on it then.
Incredibly fun deck idea, amazing pacing, nod to alchemy issues, and of course brewers kitchen content. What more could I ask for? Also when you said to hit the like button, I whispered to myself that I already did, and the video replied back as if it heard me so that felt crazy 😂
I've always dreamed of a 'thorns' build for MTG and this is the closest I've seen in Arena so far. I'd definitely craft this and try it out if I still played MTGA
Boy, they really wanted you to come to their wedding. 3 wedding invitations! I bet you'd be fun at a wedding
or he happened to have elusively tasty blood
@provostparkpass It WAS a *Hallowed* Haunting, after all.

I kinda liked it when you explained cards because it helps me at least better understand magic as a whole. Low key an educational resource
Seemed good to me!

Video is great but wish format was listed somewhere
Great video AND deck idea as always. I really do enjoy your fast pace! Just one question: is that deck for explorer or historic?
Every time I watch these videos I go, what the fuck is he doing, and then he plays that one card, and it all comes together. True perfection
the "wait what" moment in the first game got a genuine chuckle out of me
Punishing mono red for the pretentious GG is so friggin cathartic
I literally get a smile on my face every time you post
Me too

Thank you! I literally get a smile on my face every time I read comments like this :)
FACTS
I am a simple man. I hear phil, I click like.
Agree, big shot out to the Arena team for killing in game sound. The 6 sided cards were worth it.
Can you explain to a noob what that is supposed to mean (Me being that noob)
@@friedaiceborn1663 the alchemy set introduced cards that can be modified 5 different ways. So a card could have 6 different versions. If they did that in paper, a card would need to have 6 sides.
@E Gon I believe the proper term is six sided die, they would make a 6 sided die with MTG cards for each face.

This deck is the perfect epitome of how creative you can get with Magic's rules

7:20 the changeling from black market connections also has all creature types so the book of exalted will work on it
It would work as a Plan B, but he wants it on the Faceless Haven so it turns back into a noncreature land to hide it from most forms of removal.
True, but the reason it's better to use on the land is because it reverts back to being only a land after that turn, making it much much harder to get rid of.
Phil, your content is always entertaining. Your narration combined with your animation skills are great.
this is like the "call and ambulance, but not for me" type of deck
Phil, please never change. You are a treasure more valuable then every Innkeeper trigger ever and forever...
You have a heart of gold, don't let them take it from you
That bonus game though 😂
The sleeves made it even more satisfying.
@@jekanyika deadass lol. the cocky "good game" before it was over just to get wrecked in a single turn was the final cherry on top haha

That last game had me cracking up. Love this type of content
Love the content everyone puts out on this channel, but Phil's stuff is so brilliantly edited.

Best edited video on this channel or any Magic the Gathering channel by far!
I love how people always find unique and fun ways to win in Magic
Im a limited-only spike and your videos are the only constructed meme brew content I watch, let alone fistpump when I see in my feed!

Clean edits. Pulling up the paper tokens while reading the token makers was a nice touch.

the editing and production value on all these videos are so good
ABSOLUTELY GLORIOUS.
Your decks are the biggest memes I've ever seen.
I love em.
That first opponent must have been so confused when they lost there.
You could call this "Change Now!" In reference to Captain Gyinu
I'll watch ANY format you play.
Looking forward to my signed playmat.
*Thanks for the Content* !
Thanks for the support! :)
This is my favorite Arena gameplay series for a reason. Keep up the exquisite work, Phil
I haven’t seen arena gameplay better than this and probably never will. Thank you for making these videos for us brewer!
Things like these are the ones that make me want to play magic again
I like the vibe of this kind of vid, where you're being social and having fun together 😊

This is such an against the odds deck but I love that phil is piloting it

Danke sehr ☺
Im so glad im not the only one whose Arena refuses to have sound
I just love that this strategy is still alive
Best deck I've seen in a while from anyone. Bravo 👏
I loved the Seinfeld music vs the mono red deck🤣🤣

Time for some glorious jank!
brewers kitchen vids are by far my fav goldfish or mtg overall content out there! Keep it up!
dude these are seriously the most entertaining mtg arena videos I have ever seen by far. keep up the great work!!
I fricking love your videos so much man, your sense of humor, your editing, your deck ideas, the mems, you're tooooo funny
This is the best MTG entertainment content by far.
We love your vids Phil! Can't wait for more!
Good old mirror universe
These are the best magic videos on the platform
those playmats are so sick, glad i preordered mine!
Best content on channel as usual. Loving it!
Your decks never fail to impress me. Favourite MTG Arena creator!
I like how you show what the cards do
Wow what a last bonus game!!!
You are making some of the coolest mtg content and I love it
Thank you! :)
Hello, Axis, my old friend!
I used to play it on Alpha games.
Hahahah
Ps: the rant about two wedding invitations got me good ahhaha. Well done, Phil.
Never seen these combos. Super entertaining to watch
Brewers Kitchen releases a new video.
My Brain: "Oh my god, it's happening! Everybode stay calm. Everybody stay calm! STAY F*CKING CALM!"
This type of content is why I keep playing magic. Awesome awesome deck and video
Bro took "Life is a recource" too seriously
11:20 Questing beast is the last mythic with a decent animation. Tezzeret master of the bridge laser hand is my favorite animation in any digital CCG I’ve ever played
Yeah such a shame. Luminous Broodmoth was my favorite one
There’s also that Valkyrie.
Love Axis of Mortality, so fun to imagine what your opponent is thinking when they see what it does.
I never realized this game had an literal Omae wa mou shindeiru card.
Ah, the good ol' Mirror Universe kill. Now with some necessary extra steps.
Your decks are always awesome, currently playing a variant of your angels and bacon deck is pretty fun.
Thank you! :) I hope you switched out the Forerunners for Craterhoof Behemoth, that's a huge upgrade
Saw the hand on turn two with Gideon and axis of mortality and laughed out loud
Really cool deck! Commander's Quarter also made a cool commander deck around the same theme which looked fun if people are looking to try it.
Oh sweet! I'll check it out
I love watching this madness.
I have to make this, I love strategies that you win by losing.
This is a sick deck. Very scary win con for you but quite fun.
8:00 you could tap faceless haven for third snow mana, it would turn into a tapped creature, but you still could use the Book of Exalted Deeds' ablilty on it then.
Incorrect - After activating the haven, he would have no mana left for the book ability (it costs three white mana).
Love the Historic content! Super cool brew and excellent editing.
Love your crazy decks! Thanks for the entertainment, and ideas that I plan to steal.
What a hilarious deck! Loved the video ❤️
Your series is so amazing! The pacing, the script, the SOUND!!! Love it ❤️
Every time I see you pit up content from Brewers Kitchen I get so pumped. These decks are always so awesome. This one is my favorite so far!

This is a funny concept for a combo deck, thanks for showing it!
I would love a comander version of this deck
nice. you help me enjoy MtG
My favorite content creator! I love the editing but honestly I just wish you poste a more.
My favorite part is when he won when his life hit 0
The only thing that exceeds my dislike of Alchemy is my love for Brewer's Kitchen!
I've always dreamed of a 'thorns' build for MTG and this is the closest I've seen in Arena so far. I'd definitely craft this and try it out if I still played MTGA
when i wanna play thorns i just clone a ton of norn's annexes w/ artifact duplication effects
This is actually a really sweet deck! I finally have a place for those bulk Ixalan mythics
You MADMAN! This is wonderful! ❤️🔥
I have a commander deck exactly like this, it’s not my best deck by far but the faces at the table when you swap life totals with someone 🤣
I want to make this deck now, this is the kind of jank that I love.
