Note on stripping - there may be a place in your area where you can take doors, trim, etc. to be stripped. They would have large vats for dipping the entire wood pieces. Just a thought might be worth checking out.

A couple from Australia have been in New Bern for awhile - "Sailing Zephyr". Interesting note when they got here they decided to buy a car.
Yeah, we're friends with Zephyr and are just across the dock from them!
I wonder if that door is made out of cypress🤔
We have no idea what the wood is. A local said it looks like heart pine, but we have no real way of knowing right now!
