There's a relatively small Indian community in Portugal and our prime-minister is from Indian descent, but I think you mentioned it before.
Luís Almeida My best assumption is that most of those Indians are Goans.
he was migrated from goa
Actually they aren't all from Goa, even if the father of our prime minister is.
Your PM is an OCI (overseas citizen of India) !
Well I doubt that he has the Indian citizenship since that could be an obstacle for is current charge.
Also only his father was born in Goa, that was a Portuguese province at the time and it didn't wanted to join the Indian State, and that's why it was invaded.

Don't worry. In India, an Italian lady is the leader of opposition.

As an Indian I am very happy to see Indians succeed not just in politics but also in other fields like business and science.
Indians generally takes a lot of pride in any Indian or person of Indian-origin, who has 'made it big' outside India. It is worth noting that the Indian media always tends to highlight the 'Indian aspect' in any such success stories. Instances include the current Sundar Pichai (CEO of Google), Kalpana Chawla (American astronaut of Indian origin) etc. That most take a lot (sometimes a bit too much) of pride in the Indian connection of successful people abroad explains why some are critical of Bobby Jindal for not being so-called 'appreciative' of his Indianness. Also, the last part of the video was hilarious.
Indonesia too!
Yeah the brain drain needs to be stopped.
Fuck Bobby Jindal he converted to Christianiy for power fuck him his parents being successful Hindus who are proud of there religion and culture.
So now it is anti-indian to be a part of any faith other than hinduism. Isn't that the very definition of racial bigotry.
@@himalijo4426 What, another self-loathing ricebag, are you thick? Piyush (Bobby) Jindal converted to Christianity, *otherwise he wouldn't be the Governor*. He had to hide a part of his identity for the sake of power, that's why a lot of people don't like him. To be a part of some faith is one thing, to abandon your roots is another. You surely do not seem to know much about the Judeo-Christian centric politics of US.
Ireland, where I live. Its former Prime Minster and Current Deputy Prime Minister Leo Varadkar has a bit of indian descent. His dad was born in India and moved to the UK to work as a doctor when he met his mom who was irish and married there and has then moved to India again and then to Ireland where they live now.
P.S. His face was in the thumbnail in the upper left
Pramila Jayapal is a member of Congress from near where I live. She was born in Chennai. She has been in the news this week, after another lawmaker told her she didn't know what she was talking about.
Trudeau has appointed a lot of women to his cabinet just because they are women and not because they are qualified for the job. I would have suggested that he should have appointed smart women who would do a good job. AND there ARE a lot of women who ARE smart.
Well, honestly when a person is appointed for a ministry there is no law saying that he or she has to know about the stuff that particular ministry deals with. Qualifications required usually tend to be reading speeches well, having nice looks for TV and comitting to all the lies told by their leader. Appart from that, they can be complete inepts, so I don't see how women don't qualify for political posts just as well as men.
I went to Pakistan and show them this video and they sarcastically said they want Trudeau as PM
Yea Pramila and Sundar Pichai talked in Tamil once in an official meeting and our State (TamilNadu) media went Gaga over it
I'm an indian and I didn't know that we have such an influence in world politics
New Zealand's former Governor General Anand Satyanand, is of Indian Fijian descent
In the United Kingdom two of the Great Offices of State are held by persons of Indian origin: Priti Patel is Home Secretary and Rishi Sunak is Chancellor of the Exchequer.
I guess they weren't openly controversial back then.
I think Priti Patel is a kind of a gray figure in the UK. She is a vocal critic of the lack of diversity and rampant sexism in the Conservative party. Also some Labour MP called her a "sexy Bond villian" and a "village girl". She has also been one of the strongest politicians in the post Brexit UK, and successfully brought in a points-style immigration system in the UK.
But she has also rather been incompetent. She had condemns blm protesters. She lost the data of 150k British citizens. She was also involved with lobbyists and Israeli politicians. Also she has a bully type personality where she takes out vendetta against people who dare critisise her. But Boris Johnson seems to like her alot!

There are 1.2 billion of us. There are bound to be some Indian politicians around the world.
@Haren Soro This is just common sense, they have a bigger population starting off than the US which will obviously lead to more people being born. India and China have always had the highest population of humans throughout history, which is why they are so populated now. We are proud of them, Kinda.. I mean, we don't really have a connection to them except them having the same ethnicity as us, they are 2nd or 3rd or more generations and many don't even keep the culture that they had and adopt the culture of the country they live in.

In India, where I live, I often promote Canada as a diverse place. And then Indians tell me about all of the Indians in our parliament, able to quote the numbers way before I am able to. Any mention of a Canadian of Indian descent in the papers, even those born in Canada, will refer to them as "Indian Canadian". They definitely do seem to care about these things.
sometimes they care lil too much about it that they start criticising here in India about what they do in their respective countries for eg Preet Bharara(US attorney) was roasted in India for something he did in US.
You failed to mention the homosexual son of Indian immigrants who's Taoiseach ná hÉireann (Irish "Prime Minister")

There are many Indian ethnic politicians in UK.
And media personalities too. Krishnan Guru-Murthy is an infamous example.

Now we will but legally 😆😆😆
Just kidding, they are more British than Indian ☺️☺️
As an Indian, I’m both proud of this, and also a bit ashamed. Proud, because Indians flourish and grow to be leaders of any society we are in. Ashamed, because in India itself we don’t welcome anyone of foreign descent, and always question the loyalty of a foreign born naturalised citizen. Even the only one in Indian politics of foreign descent is constantly reminded of her “otherness” despite being naturalised. It is indeed the hypocrisy of our times.
In the UK now we have rishi sunak who is the chancellor of the Exchequer, what is a very high position in the government and Priti Patel who is home secretary and some would say second in charge after Boris Johnson
anyone noticing strange oscillations in audio with stereo headphones?
A quick check for the UK shows that there are about 60 MPs of non-white or partly non-white origin in our national parliament (Westminster), out of 650, mainly of Pakistani, Indian or Bangladeshi origin, there are also various other non-British ethnic origin people amongst them of Black (African and Caribbean), Iranian, Iraqi, Sri Lankan, Chinese, Turkish, Cypriot etc. origins, spread across all the major and minor political parties. Probably the three most senior currently serving are two ministers in the current Conservative government (Sajid Javid and Priti Patel, of Pakistani and Indian origin respectively, and the current Mayor of London is Sadiq Khan of the Labour Party (he is of Pakistani origin, although his family moved from the Bombay area in what is now India to Pakistan at independence in 1947 when the former "British India" was "partitioned" along religious lines) - when the last Labour government was in power he was an MP and government minister. In all the regional parliaments/assemblies (Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland) there are also serving members of non-British ethnic origin, as well as a fair number in the House of Lords, some of them former politicians, some who were in business or academic positions. Amongst the younger ones, many were born in the UK, although amongst both younger and older a number were born outside the UK. There is also a sprinkling of people who profess the Jewish religion, but of course who are British too, although some come from families who arrived in the UK as refugees in the 19th, early and mid-20th centuries to escape persecution and a number have been ministers or senior politicians in various political parties for a long time.
Bill Cameron What are they minister of?
Sajid Javid comes from a business and banking background, working in the UK, various parts of South America, Singapore etc (his father was a bus driver) and has variously been Business Minister, Culture Minister, a Treasury Minister (for the City of London), currently in the Cabinet as Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government. In the view of a lot of people it's not beyond the realms of possibility he could one day lead the Conservative Party and perhaps become PM, but the Conservative Party is famously competitive in how it chooses its leaders, so it could be him or a number of others. Priti Patel is currently Secretary of State for International Development (basically responsible for handing out the roughly £14billion a year or 0.7% of GDP the UK gives out each year in international aid, etc, formerly she was an Employment and Treasury minister. Sadiq Khan, currently Mayor of London (obviously our largest city with its own semi-autonomous government) formerly a Transport Minister and a Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government in the last Labour government.
Bill Cameron ohh fuk suck your fukin long list

Defense minister of Canada is pretty controversial here in India. He has been accused of participating in the Sikh insurgency movement.
I have a slightly more controversial opinion as to why. Indians like most Asians are usually a highly educated, highly selected, enterprising immigrant community. High education and resultant social status paves way for a career in law and politics. But unlike East Asians, Indians come from a more argumentative, vibrant, vigorous, multicultural democratic society. Indians love argument, that's the origin of the stereotype of "argumentative Indian". The advantages seem similar to Jewish populations across the West. I have often said Indians are assimilating along Jewish lines, Mexicans along Irish lines.
