so very bright and shiny! I didn't hate the movie, using Korg's viewpoint was a bit different but there was definitely some that they should have pulled back a bit. The over abundance of gold in the costume, I get it, Thor was trying to impress Jane and Mjolnir, outdo her costume and he was coming back from his depression and compensating. I do love this costume minus the helmet tho'. I do wish Hot Toys would figure out a way of letting Thor move his head with the longer hair. And yeah, why can't Thor have moving eyes like all the newer figures coming out?
yeah the no moving eyes is really confusing especially since it’s a magnetic connection which i’m not a fan of because now you can’t do head swaps 🙄

I do love his look, from Love & Thunder. The movie was a little much with the comedy, especially between Thor & StormBreaker.

I typically really agree with most of your reviews. You always have great content, cover every area of the figure, and arent biased. However, I could not disagree with you more on this one. Yes the suit is busy, yes its colorful, BUT i think it is a really nice, "real world" depiction of his blue and gold costume from the comics. Also, if you are an actual god, i think a God's suit WOULD be detailed and busy. While i dont think it is the definitive Thor, i think it is a must have if you love Thor because this is him at his peak suit form. Great details, great likeness, and just all around accurate figure. I give it 8.5 out of 10
Oh don't get me wrong, it's busy and ugly but I love it! Still got a primo spot in the display!

Wild opinion here, but this might end up being my favorite hot toy in my collection 😂 this suit is so similar to the figure I was obsessed with when I was young. I used to bring it everywhere with me. I understand the criticisms about the movie and costume for sure but hot toys absolutely crushed this one. I thought your review was super balanced and made me even more excited for this guy to come in. Gunna be the shining star in my collection 😂

I got mine last week and I genuinely love it despite not liking the movie. The colors just do it for me and they pop in the display. Would have preferred the version that has the fur but as a Thor fan I am more than satisfied.

Just watched this again, i just wish Hot toys did Thor's pre golden armour suit that has the Fur cape and looked like the Roadworn suit. I honestly prefer that one the most.

The reason why this thors color scheme looks that way is because he was trying to impress Jane, also he needs to look like the moral opposite of Gorr who is black and white. I hope that helps it make sense.

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I love it. The bright colors will look fantastic on the shelf and the silicone arms look great. I agree with the mask and gold arms it’s way too busy. But maskless and bare armed, I think it’s great. Ordered mine today!

No, the head is magnetic on this whereas roadworn isn't and I've not tried pulling his arms off

Even if the movie sucked, i like the suit quite a bit! Gold and blue especially looks nice! I'm surprised though that my favourite part of this toy is the light-up Stormbreaker, that looks awesome!

I actually like the suit without the extra gold added but it is a shame the black suit and cape might not be made, although it was a shame the movie dumped it after about 20 minutes too.

I mean, the "origin" for Love & Thunder Thor's bright colorful look is Thor trying to *out-thor* Jane Foster Thor, when he runs into someone wielding Mjolnir.
He's effectively peacocking in this look.
But that's the thing about Thor's looks the entire film, he's repeatedly re-imagining himself to his audience.
With Peter Quill he was full-80s He-Man, while alone with Korg he's returned to his standard Viking look, before swapping to Super-Hero-Gold look for Jane Foster when he runs into her.
It speaks more to his deep insecurity as he tries to return to his "happy" pre Ragnarok self, leaning into becoming a hero as something to get him out of his suicidal depression in the film.

Hey Justin, did you have issues with the head sculpt always looking down? Both sculpts on mine constantly look down when you put them on the neck and the neck has no movement in it to make the sculpt look straight forward.
Luckily not on mine, maybe try heating up the hair a bit, when its soft put the head on at the desired angle and wait for it to cool there

Honestly I’m a fan of the design but I understand why people don’t like it. What I was wondering is if you change out the arms for the armored arms from either infinity war Thor or endgame Thor if that makes it look any better. I just feel like they’d add a nice touch of dark to this other wise VERY bright figure.

Alright as much as I love Wolverine getting his yellow suit in the films, I think it's best of Thor sticks to his dark suit and red cape.
The MCU clearly wanted to embrace the blue.......embraced it a bit too much. Probably wanted to contrast Gorr as well.
Ideally I'd like to see an evolution of the real Thor was Endgame. That suit with a leaner Thor.

@@JustinsCollection I tried Geewiz Customs because I saw they took a Hot Toys Eric Draven figure and restored the jacket so I figured they would be interested but they haven't got back to me yet, maybe I found a new market for these customizers to tackle?
Though I was very disappointed by the film, I actually like this look for Thor ❤️ It's not my favorite look. Still wish Hot Toys would make the fur cape look from the film.

Is there any way to mod the waist clamps in order to make them not chew into the figures? Would gluing more padding to the clamps help? I usually only use crotch grabbers, but they limit the dynamic posing posibilities (I can't make a jumping or a flying pose).

For me, the suit is to colorfull. The sculp is nice, but again, its a slap plastic tough, if they should just root the heads from these ht figs, they whould look a lot better imho. And now it comes, hold on....... THATS TO EXPENSIVE TO DO THIS, figures wil cost to much etc etc.... wel, with al the crap going on these days, the prices of al the oils and such are getting higher soon enough. So it wil be cheaper than fake hair. And there are other ways to give a fig hair. Its a love hate figure, its not the worst, but not the best. A lot worser figs are out there. Good review dude!!

At 5:05 , the front and back pieces you are claiming are not believable as real lightning.... They aren't supposed to be lightning obviously. Stormbreaker has blue flames at times when it is in use. Those are obviously flames.. and at 5:01 , what exactly is it that you "don't understand at all"? Stormbreaker does often have lightning run down the handle. So it also makes perfect sense. Jeez justin

I hated this movie so much, it had cool aspects and totally failed. I didn't like this look for Thor at all, in fact, I'm Thor just looking at it....I regret nothing 😆
Somehow though, the figure looks pretty good and ugly (armor wise although the head looks way better from a distance, close up it doesn't look like him very much). So confused. I both hate the blue and gold, but also it looks pretty interesting. I think if it wasn't Thor I'd like it more, maybe.
Skin actually looks pretty good, if I was a collector I think i'd always like jointed arms more than seamless, but just looking at him, yeah that's pretty freakin good
Those lightning effects look like ice pieces, not lighting though. That's so weird. The ones that attach to him look like a Frost Giant absolutely butchered him.
