DISASTER | WeatherTech Window Covers Long-Term Review | 5th Gen Toyota 4Runner Window Covers

- Опубліковано 1 жов 2024
- This is the LAST episode that will be published on this channel involving the 4Runner and roadlife in general. I feel it's best to keep the photography stuff and the pure travel/vehicle stuff separated. This is a "transitional? video, a bit of both worlds. From here on out, all of this sort of thing plus camp cooking and travel will be posted at @4Runner_Nomad
Here is the long awaited long-term review of the WeatherTech window covers for the 5th Gen Toyota 4Runner. It's not good folks...it's not good.
These covers worked great for a while and then, well...things took a turn. However, the customer service from both @carid and @weathertech was wonderful. I just wish things could have ended differently.

Here are the other set of window covers for the 4Runner I mentioned possibly trying out.

They're much less expensive and seem to have great reviews on Amazon. Let me know what you think down in the comments and I might pick up a set to review.

I'm sorry to hear that! Unfortunately most people don't want to take responsibility for their shabby work. Good luck with the new stuff!
It was a bummer. And while definitely it would be better to actually have a functioning set, I don't actually have any real complaints...which is weird to say....
Incidentally, I've ordered the "El cheapo" set I mentioned in this episode. We'll see how those go. $70 for an entire set.
I just had a funny, horrifying scenario pop into my head. Khloe says she watched this video, had the R&D team study it, and they figured out what the problem is.
It's your coffee. It's too darn tasty. Just switch to decaf and the window covers will adjust and work like a dream!
They need your address to send you a new set - and five pounds of Folger's Decaf Instant Coffee.
Best wishes from Vermont 🍁

As long as that make that Folger's high octane so I could use it for my developers! Five pounds would be a gold mine....
Sorry to hear they didn't last. I have a set, but they see infrequent use, long weekends here and there. I keep mine in the house when not in use and I don't roll them up. And my travels tend to be more fall/spring oriented, so temps usually aren't hot. Though, I can't believe a car shade manufacturer said they were only rated to 90 degrees. Some of the most popular window shade usage areas are places like Arizona where the *outside* temp is way hotter than 90 degrees, nevermind the internal car temp.
Hopfully you find a solution that works by the time I need to replace mine! Window shades are so important for sleeping in the 4Runner!
That was 💯 my thoughts, Jeff. I wasn't sure what to make of the temperature rating thing. I've got it in an email and I think I'm going to go back and look again just to be sure I completely understood the context.
At any rate, I've got an "Amazon special" set on the way. I'll be reviewing those over on the other channel in a couple weeks. About a 1/3 of these, so we shall see.
Sun shades only rated to 90 degrees? I'm laughing!! So in reality it has to be under 75 degrees if it's sunny so it doesn't go above 90?
My thoughts exactly.
