I was born here in 1958. I've seen this area really grow. When I was in high school, we'd party and sleep on Sand Key Beach. We'd hang out on Clearwater Beach in the parking lot drinking and throwing Frisbee all night. I've always had a boat and I still do. I only go to Clearwater Beach to eat at Frenchy's. When I want to go to the beach, I take my boat out of Clearwater Pass, hang a right and go by Clearwater Beach and I head on up Caladesi, Honeymoon, Three Rooker and Anclote Key. Those beaches are clear of people and the beaches are beautiful.

When I stay in Clearwater Beach, I go to Sand Key as my beach! It is so much less crowded. Parking is easy, bathrooms...love it!

I think those people don't understand metro areas. St. Petersburg would be considered a suburb of Tampa, but also a primary city in the metro area. It would be like Overland Park is to Kansas City.

Having moved here to St Petersburg 3 years ago from Miami, I would say Tampa is completely different from St Petersburg

If considering moving to the greater Tampa area look in Hernando county. It’s only a 45 minute drive on the Veterans expressway to Tampa international airport, taxes are far cheaper, houses are almost half the price, and the crime rate is far lower. It is the suburbs( Springhill ) and can have a small town feel ( Brooksville) but a house that goes from 500-750k in Tampa goes for 350-500k in Hernando county. If you’re a Republican looking for school systems and people who share your same values then Hernando county is for you.

Sam do you have to be wealthy to live in the Tampa bay area? And are the people there generally nice? Or backwards?

People are nice, depending on what you mean by "wealthy" it's definitely not cheap to be near the good stuff
