US trucks are useless in our market we pay about 30% more for gas and cars comparatively " joys of living in a distant location with a small population and a brutal tax system" but have just as far to drive and haul as you guys in the states. So basically we need a mid sized truck that can haul 3 tones comfortably with the efficiency of a mid size family car

Look closely at the sand, it packs down then stays there at his vehicle weight. He correctly analysed the situation and knew he could re-run his tracks without bottoming out AND without toque sapping soft sand when he re-ran it. He drove on point.
No I had a v8 landcruser now I have a ranger much better more comfortable and way better fuel economy and has 470nm of torque just shy of the toyota having said that it was v8 twin turbo

Land cruiser also costs double the amount and double the fuel , second hand Nissan Navara v6 turbo 550 will smash all of them and the Hillux will struggle to pull itself through the sand a full 126 kw just a joke
It did go into Limp Mode everytime I towed something heavy. Took us a while to work out why. I had the Ranger tuned to the max and that made the turbo overboost, so we had to reduce the boost slightly without performance loss. All is great now.
Good effort, wouldn't want to buy it off you though ;). is it an auto? If it is you'd be crazy to do that without a ginormous oil cooler. I know forzda have had issues with weak as piss gear boxes since the days of the Courier / Bravo through to the latest model BT50/ Ranger any issues?
Yup. too cool for them to bring it to the US. However, I know about ten people who would swear up and down that their two wheel drive Chevy would do that and not spin a tire.

re mapping does not stop turbo lag. To stop turbo lag you would have to fit a smaller turbo that makes boost a lower rpm and nobody want a smaller turbo.
Looks like the trailer wheels follow the same track as the car, was that coincidence or did you modify it to do that? Reckon it would be a different story if the trailer sat wider than the car
Thats just stupidity beast way to kill your favorite vehicle transmission. Would have take 2 min to drive the bobcat off and drive it accross the sand. Yeah it may not fail straight away, but that oil in the transmission is now f$#ked.

I think the 4.8 litre v8 land cruiser twin turbo does a bit better just because the torque is from lower rpm
