- In the rarified air of the world’s wildest mountains, alpinist Graham Zimmerman has seen firsthand the effects of human-driven climate change on the world. He has seen glaciers recede, winters become shorter, and weather patterns become more volatile. As his eyes have been opened to the irreversible damage that humans are doing to the planet, he has been forced to acknowledge that he is complicit in destroying these places that he loves. Despite his own carbon footprint, Graham decides that he must take action and joins Protect Our Winters, an advocacy group that enlists him in the fight against Climate Change. In doing so, he starts down the path of advocacy in an increasingly turbulent world. A world that will challenge him in many ways, not least of all, by asking if he can accept his imperfections to become an effective advocate.

Very inspired as someone who loves to climb, ski, and travel. The harm to our climate is hard news to hold, but I am now encouraged to keep going.
Also, let's not forget biodiversity! Our playgrounds are a shared space with wildlife. We are in the middle of a human made mass extinction event so let's embrace the idea of giving half of the surface area of our planet to nature. Biden and the American Alpine Club have also made steps by endorsing the 30 x 30 plan - saving 30% of our land and waters by 2030.
All of these things go together - protecting our climate, preserving our wildlife, and enjoying the blessing and challenge of nature.
"We are showing that imperfect advocacy is not only okay-- it is vital. Without it, our only choice is to sit back and watch the world burn." This short doc is so inspiring for those of us imperfect creatures who get daunted by advocacy.
We need more of this sort of advocacy! Great work, Graham!
This is my third time watching now, really inspiring and relatable. Not the awesome mountain climbing (yet) but the imperfect stature a lot of us find ourselves in. Fantastic stuff, Graham!

I'm sorry but this message misses the mark. To demand change from a system that we are inherently a part of and send the message that WE don't need to change, THEY, need to change. If we don't have the social capital to back up the changes we are demanding of the systems, they will continue to fail like every climate initiative that we've ever attempted to enact. We need both to change, but all I hear from POW and this video is that someone else needs to do all the work I just have to vote and care.
