- A side by side comparison of Zhiyun Cinepeer Weebill 3E and DJI RS3 Mini, both gimbals are balanced and calibrated with autotune, Steadyshot on both camera set to "Standard".
I had never used a gimbal debating whether I need a gimbal yet. From this video I can feel the different in pf algorithm of these gimbals. DJI seems smoother but delayed. It reduced the acceleration and deceleration of hand movement. Zhiyun seems following hand movement strictly. If shooting or chasing a children, Zhiyun may better, but, switching off follow mode may even better? Not sure if my observation is correct. Some good words about this video: I like the barely side by side comparison without giving any opinion. Let the viewers have their own interpretation.
The delay of follow could be adjust by "deadband" inside the gimbal settings, Zhiyun is quite sticky to follow and looks more "robotic" while compare with DJI.
I also own a DJI RS3 pro, with more powerful motors and different algorithm, it performs very well and looks more natural while compare with my WB3E, however it's much more heavier and I feel really tired after a day of work, so I was looking for a lighter option like RS3 mini but it's not performed very well. WB3E is a really good alternative to my RS3 pro, especially I'm not using those heavy camera/lens combination.
I uploaded my recent work by the WB3E in a different channel, although the whole video was slowed down by 50% but I didn't use any post stabilization at all, let's check it out:

They both seem to have their moments but I think overall the Zhiyun is better. I run various DJI including the mini but I have a 3E coming so should be interesting.
The stabilizing algorithm on the DJI is seems better, but the motor strength RS3mini can't handle well especially when doing some complex movement.
RS3/pro will do much better but of course more heavier. The Weebill 3E got a good sweet spot on the weight/payload/smoothness at the compact gimbal field.
@HWGearStory The stabilizing algorithm of zhiyun is far better than that of Dji. And in terms of smoothness , the weelbill is flawlessly smooth , the DJI RS3 MINI is a failed gimbal system . I have used the rs3 mini and I sold it.
@@MrFaccts i like the stabilizing algorithm on DJI more, but not on the RS3 mini, the motors just couldn't handle it.
On the Weebill/typical Zhiyun. i'm not sure do they have a curve to initiate the deadband. The smoothness setting only affect how the motor stop in the follow mode, but it couldn't control how the motor starting to follow after reach out the range of dead band, therefore the Weebill usally start to follow in a harder way. Some of my gimbals based on SimpleBGC could do it way softer, but they were old and discontinued. DJI could do it pretty close but only with the much bigger gimbal like RS3/RS3pro. On this Weebill 3E I still not very satisfied with its algorithm, but the stability is much better than the DJI RS3mini, it got a very nice sweet spot between the cost/size/smoothness.

the dji rs3 mini is jittering constantly 🙁 Why ? is calibrated correctly?

Thanik you for the comments, however I'm not going to give any personal view in this video. Since I watched many openbox/review of this gimbal before I bought it, they mostly like a tutorial of the gimbal, or just talking about how good they feel on it, but I didn't see many of actual footage from this gimbal, so I made this side by side compare and let you feel how's the gimbal performs.
