Hi Kathy, thank you for all your wonderful recipes and demos. Have you ever tried the joyoung y1 soy milk maker? I have just purchased one and I am amazed. It makes both hot and cold plant milks, soups, smoothies etc. it is self cleaning too. I would love if you could make a demo of it. Hugs from Denmark 🤗🥰
Was there any problems with the nutramilk parts breaking? I've heard a lot about the parts not lasting.
I haven’t had any issues at this point.
Thanks.
Now I'm curious if soaking the oats, processing them into a "butter", then adding water and blending in the Vitamix would make a less slimy oat milk. Like you, I've heard NOT to presoak the oats and not to blend for more than 30 to 45 seconds max.
I'm not sure and honestly haven't tried this method in the blender.
I put PB cashew powder in my oat milk. However, I just use my blender works fine for me. Love my homemade oat milk. I save the pulp to make a pancake or add it to my vege burgers... no waste. I just dont have room for Nutramilk machine.
I love my Nutramilk. I use the other container to make McDougall compliant sandwich spreads.
Nice!
Hi Kathy, how does the Almond Cow compare to Nutramilk
The Nutramilk has a stronger motor and is better all around, but is more expensive than the almond cow.
I don't soak for Cow, and it's the best..
Happy Easter, freezing again Destin
It's been cold here the past couple of days too!
Hi, i was just wondering how the milk compares with store bought oat milk. I used to make my own in a blender but it always sank to the bottom when i put it in coffee. I just wondered if the nutrimilk was any different. Thanks
Without an additives you will need to shake before using.
After masking oat milk, whatever the method, the following day do you see a layer of fine oat residue at the bottom of the jar or container? I always do, and have to shake it up for a minute or so…each time.
Yes, you will always need to shake before using. That's really with any homemade plant milk.
Mine died after 3years, in the Month of November, of this year 2023.
Oh no - what happened? How did customer service respond?
So no sliminess at all? The gooey slime of oat milk is what turns me off. When I could still get Suzie's Oat Milk at Costco here in Alberta, that was the best to make lattes with.
To. prevent slimy oat milk do not blend longer er than 35 seconds. I blend in highest setting in regular blender. I then strain in a fine meat strainer, one time, and pour into a jar. I originally strained in mesh strainer, then through cheesecloth without any difference. I’m keeping it simple. Thanks Kathy for the wonderful way you explain everything.
I'm new to the Nutramilk method with oat milk, but it worked well.
Use cold water, don't blend too long so as to make it warm, and don't press to hard when straining out the pulp.
use ice water.
