    Hi Richocoarm, I'm making a miniature diorama and I want to create an effect which looks like paint peeling off a wall. It involves painting the miniature walls with acrylic paint and then, once the paint is dry, painting liquid latex over the paint and letting that dry, and then gently rubbing the latex off the walls in places so that the paintwork appears to be peeling and old. I'll add other effects like fake dirt etc, but I need to find out what sort of latex I should buy for this project. If you can help me that would be fantastic. Love from Amanda Jones in Melbourne, Australia ❤

    The fabric makes it stronger right? Can you keep layering until it's say 3/8 inch thick? (I'm not making a mask. It's for something different.)

    Hi @Richocoarm,
    Thanks for the video; it's helped me on a couple of pointers to make my masks better. Can I ask what release agent you'd recommend please? I've got a plaster mould, and stippling latex into it. I had tried a clear lacquer(spray-can), but the last mask still stuck in a couple of places (chin).
    Thanks

      I generally useplenty of wax polish, not the spray can stuff. But leave it overnight to thoroughly dry before you buff it up. I've never had any thing stick when using that method. Hope this helps.

    Hi @richocoarm - thanks for the useful video. My question is: can I apply liquid latex to a gym ball in overlapping sections 20x30 inches each, letting each section dry before adding the next. Will the new sections added adhere to the latex sections previously applied. I want to end up with an unbroken skin over the entire ball. PS I'm a printmaker and want to use the latex covered ball as a print matrix. Sorry so long - hope my question is clear :)

      I've applied liquid latex to an exercise ball before and didn't have any issues with applying multiple coats of the liquid latex.

    • @tyler-sq6hq
      @tyler-sq6hq 7 років тому

      Aldo Vargas you should just get a brush you dont care about to use, a disposable brush, or soak the brush before and after with water and liquid dish soap

    doing it this way you have to clean your brush EACH TIME you do a new layer, creating a huge amount of pollution and even if you don't care, it takes time, long time and thinners etc good luck with this way, I use no brush
