I have this same trumpet, and I love it! Carolbrass is underrated by everyone that hasn’t tried one 😊 I’m not mad that Schagerl contracts these and other lower/mid range trumpets out - so many “hand made” trumpets/flugels use Carolbrass valve blocks. It’s a great sounding little horn and an absolute joy to play…that is what matters in the end. Bravo to you making sure credit is given where credit is due and thanks for sharing your review. Keep em coming!!
Hi, in this video I'm using the Lotus 3 XXL mouthpiece. Unfortunately I don't even think that mouthpiece is on the market yet but it is my favorite of their entire line. I got an advanced copy of it. Thank you for watching
Loving these reviews, dB. Keep them coming! This instrument really sounds above and beyond what I would expect from a pocket trumpet. Also cool that you managed to get down to the truth about who is actually making this instrument.
I have a Jupiter 716L big bell pocket. It plays really well and sounds pretty good too. Taiwanese are kicking goals these days. Just like Japan with Yamaha, their reputation is building.
I had this pocket by Carol Brass, on the bell is engraved Expression Pro 2000...I think in the pocket trumpets "world" everyone put his mark on instruments and change the price...Infact, my Carol pocket was 750 euros and the Schagerl was 2900 euro, four times priced!!! That's ridicolous in my opinion. This situation is the same in the Hi End products in Hi Fi components that was my old job...
Stan Kenton Orchestra, featuring Maynard Ferguson, tune: Invention for Guitar and Trumpet. A lot of Chet Baker's recordings feature guitar in place of piano in his quintet, one that comes to mind is the album The Italian Sessions, which I think is the same album as Chet Baker Returns, don't quote me on that.
Trumpet and guitar album..
Mendez and Almeida. It's been a favorite of mine since was 16. (50 years ago,,)
Yes that's awesome. 💯 🎺 ❤️

Thanks for this post. I'll check some of the things that you have mentioned out. ❤️
Question: What's Schagerl got to do with this pocket trumpet, DB? On Carolbrass's website, they make no mention of Schagerl anywhere.
CarolBrass is the maker of the Schagerl Pocket Trumpet. Schagerl just puts their name on it.
